YEP!!! Better believe it! It's pen and ink done by hand. (Mainly restricted myself to an 01 and 03 pigma micron for this one)

Actually, quite a few of my pieces here are... and are even in the same sketchbook!

I kinda bounce around various traditional mediums a lot and dable in digital... art wise, but something about pen and ink keeps me coming back! I just find it relaxing in spite of it being time-consuming (although sometimes I'm pretty fast at it) and have to take frequent breaks to avoid hand cramps.

I also like that it can come off vibe wise as more... hauntingly beautiful? Idk, lol.

Sometimes, I will even scan my lineart and color it digitaly like I did with this.

Probably rambled a little more than what the question required, but I hope that answers things, ha!^^"

Made multiple pallets for eel finally because depending on where they are and lighting, changes how they look. Here some screen shot examples.

If u ever wonder why part of the river makes weird spooky noises they are the reason why. Tgc just never removed the noises after event so now there is just an invisible eel that haunts the waters of peaks

So why did these take so long?

I have some additional notes I'm still working on and I realized that I'm past tumblr post's image limit if I were to include them, so going to divide it up into multiple posts.

I got sidetracked into figuring out how to make my own personal fonts for notes, comics, and whatever else I may make on ibis paint x.^^" (I would share the fonts for free to use completely... but way I have it set up currently... The fonts had to be divided into two parts for each because the website I made the fonts on had a character limit. So until I figure out a way to combine them no... but for now it works for my personal needs.)

If you are wondering why Reener's ref off on it's lonesome, in vague terms regarding story, I'm still trying to figure out weather or not I want to include different route timelines and endings? Currently working on trying to update my refs of the abyss crew and Reen for AU, and it might be driving me a lil mad HAHA... so dropping this compilation of past and current Neer refs here to let you know I'm not dead and thought it was interesting to see how style wise stuff may have evolved...

Their mitten hands definitely have.

Headcanon/something in Au: Abyss Crew's Ship has an interior.

Idk it just makes sense to me but have some reasoning for adding this.

I also thought it would make the ship a more interesting setting + get to have fun figuring out where things go + another way of storytelling.

Bonus made shared spaces trying to figure out the interior design before I get to drawing it in detail (please note some things are place holders and more stuff was intended to be added in areas)

Goal is a cramped space that's simultaneously messy yet organized ( lived in vibes. )

Something Different Here

DISCLAIMER: I don't see myself as really an actual musician by any means!!! (I just like playing music sheets in sky) this was more me having fun with audio with filters so, sorry if it isn't high quality audio.

Was playing cannoneer's music sheet but thought it would be fun to mess around with it, So recorded myself playing it a few times with different instruments in sky and smooshed them all together. then I put a slow and reverb filter and a backwards filter on. These are the results of that-

Simple colors on characters

Really been enjoying doing my linart traditionally then coloring digitally lately as you can see. Just feels nice because lineart wise I feel the most comfortable traditionally while digital I feel like I suffer because I feel I don't have as much control . Coloring these digitally is nice though because I can pull off some effects I couldn't, can color fast, and there is the plus of not ruining the original lineart somehow. Anyway just some thoughts on the art process

FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE NOTICED THIS.

But also, I have another head canon involving that... The gems are not just for "show" but also there in case of an emergency. Since they are probably darkstone and darkstone seemingly powers quite a bit of things, it is basically like them carrying an extra set of batteries inconspicuously if they have equipment that needs it (probably hand held lanterns or cannoneer's harpoon/s). That would also be another reason why boatswain has a lot of them since they are the one who make most repairs on the ship (also including some equipment).

It's just another reason why boatswain's cape sooooo much. I like my gems :D

Also, a little rant. I remember a conversation I had with someone when the season was live. They kept crapping on the cape colors not matching thus claiming that the capes didn't have a cohesive theme until I pointed out the gems (they didn't notice that.) And I also explained that it actually made sense for them to have different cape colors since (a) The spirits working in the crew are probably are from different areas and walks of life (b) would be able to tell who is who from a distance which could be useful in certain situations. Anyway, the convo opened the person's eyes to the capes and, yes, matching cape colors isn't everything people!!!! Other design themes and elements EXIST.

Hi!! Abyss crew love time. I just spotted something GREAT, and now own a new hc. Anyways.

Look! At! This!!!! They all have a Gem (yeah I know it's probably darkstone but still. I'm calling them gems)!!! Of course, this can be interpreted in a few ways, but as the person I am I can only see it in one way: acknowledgement that you're part of the crew- part of the family. They deserve that!!!

Anyways. Since Boatswain has the most gems, I think that they're the ones who make them. That headcannon kinda fell down to "they are longtime friends with Commodore, who trusts their judgement with distribution of the gems and safekeeping of loot" because why not!! And! They could also be the first mate of the crew! Among other things!!!

And of fucking course this means I'm finding a nice spot for my own skykid to wear a gem lmao. (I say, as I modify how her wristband looks like)
