I just now noticed how pretty and soft Itachi is drawn in the manga when compared to the anime.

He does. In the anime, he's made to look/sound older than he is, but manga makes him look really young and small.

He's a kid and he does look older than his age, but that's how Sasuke remembers him.

He is a mixture of vulnerable and deadly, and towards his death, he begins to look more and more fragile that adds to his otherwise unattainable persona.

This for example. (excuse my usage of both coloured and black and white penals - I'm just clumsy).

And one of my favorites has to be this moment before his battle with Sasuke.

The sadness on his face kills me every single time. Anime removed their expressions. Manga has tons of such examples where Itachi is more expressive and looks so vulnerable.

And look at this. He's on the verge of tears, it seems. Probably because he sensed his end was close too? I'll make a separate post on this, maybe. But someone give him a hug already. :(

I'm finally revisiting the Uchiha family dynamics and I have...a lot of thoughts.

When Itachi agreed that Naruto had been a better brother, that was more literal than I first thought. Because he wasn't acting as a brother. He was acting as a parent. And I can't figure out what excuse Mikoto had for Itachi to be so parentified, but in hindsight it's so obvious that it's depressing.

The way Itachi interacted with Sasuke lacked the roughness of normal sibling love. There's no crude banter and rough housing, he teaches gently, he's happy to provide with no reluctance or annoyance, and he never tells him to go away, just that he's busy. In Parent and Child Day, instead of remembering his mother and father, when Sasuke is trying to figure out how to be a parent, he has a flashback of Itachi instead? Why was he getting that attention from his brother instead of Mikoto? When Itachi became so busy what was Sasuke supposed to do? Is that why he got so clingy??

What the fuck was going on in that household? God this is suffering

Not to go too hard here, but I'm just emotional over Itachi Uchiha. Because like, all this kid ever wanted was to love. He loved his brother, he loved his Shisui, he loved his village, he loved his family.

But because of that love, he was manipulated his entire life, forced to do horrible, vicious, treasonous things. I saw someone arguing that "Itachi isn't a hero" and I'm like, yeah, he's a victim. He became ANBU at what, 13? Watched one of his most precious people commit suicide, was manipulated by Danzo into killing every other person he loved except the one he loved the most, Sasuke. Forced to make Sasuke hate him. Forced to flee the village he just saved, branded a traitor and a monster, put in the bingo book with an undoubtedly MASSIVE bounty.

I just, it's so sad. All he wanted was happiness and peace and to be good. And because of horrible things out of his control, his entire wretched, short life was pain. It's not enough he was forced to kill his own parents, not enough that he had a vicious illness that wracked his body and eventually killed him painfully, not enough he was resurrected by a madman. And in the end, it turns out they still never cleared his name? Most of the entire world still thinks he's a monster?

Idk. It's just sad. He was so kind and gentle.

In the Japanese dubbing, voice Kinich belongs to Sasuke, voice Mualani belongs to little Sasuke, voice Ajaw belongs to Naruto, and voice Ororon belongs to Suigetsu!!💞

I would like a character with Itachi's voice actor...😞

Do you think if Sasuke had the chance to go back in time to save the clan that he would? Or would he end up sacrificing the clan to save Itachi instead?

I have a lot of feelings about this, but damn it, Mikoto, Itachi was a child too. This is probably after Shisui's death, that's why he looks so miserable. Why is he standing away from his family. It successfully symbolizes his estrangement from his family and that nobody really saw or cared enough to know what he was going through. :/
