They lift their head, but still appear depressed.

Loop: [If we're having close calls this early, We're going to be found out.]

Siffrin: (Then we'll face the music when it happens.) (But until then…Can we go to bed?)

Loop, resting their head on their arm: Sigh…

They then snap upwards, clapping their hands. Loop: [Okay~ Bed time.]

Siffrin stops Loop when they reach their tent: Wait.

Loop turns around, smiling still.

Siffrin: (I call dibs on the right side.) Loop frowns deeply, while their eyes remain happy.

Loop, with a forced grin: [But, I sleep on the right?]

Siffrin: (BUT I called dibs~)

Loop, through gritted teeth: [Okaaaay~]

Siffrin, snuggling into the blanket, happily: (Aw, come oooon. We can share.)

Siffrin: (Hehe.)

Loop: [Don't say I never spoil you.]

Siffrin: (I would never imply such a thing.)

Loop, neutrally: [Only If we don't get caught.]

Siffrin, frowning: (We could stand to be more careful.)

Siffrin: (Goodnight,Siffrin.)

Loop freezes. They begin to tear up, sniffling.

Loop, interrupting: [I'm fine.]

Siffrin pulls away, lying next to Loop as they silently cry.

…Time passes, Siffrin falls asleep while it seems Loop is still upset.

[Page 10] Throughout the night, the two toss and turn, stealing the blanket from each other. Loop sits up, furious.

Lastly, we cut to a very awake and agonized Loop who lies stiffly while Siffrin lies on their chest, cuddling. A small detail is that Loop is now wearing a long white sleeved shirt.

thanks everyone for giving feedback and discussing my concerns, i appreciate it! but yeah building off the previous post cause now i'm just thinking more about my design and headcanons

in all honesty i chose the siffrins designs on a whim. in my previous comic i depicted the nonbinary protagonist in a more masculine based androgyny so this time i decided to go for a more personal take, b/c i could see aspects of that relating to siffrin.

mainly, i like how siffrin has a complete non-reaction to loop's star form (aside from, you know, the star aspect) + the cloak and hat being built for function over visual. i like to think that reflects how, at least pre-loops, how both Siffrins thought little to their body. it's all about function! pockets, so many pockets. i like the idea of the clothing pins are there for practical reasons (because it's a full cloak, there's no need for pins) like if there's a clothing emergency like a cloak tear, Siffrin could use the pins to keep the cloak together.

Something i really look forward to is exploring how both siffrins view fashion and gender expression post-loops! and how thats going to clash as resources and Keeping To The Bit Above All Else comes into play.

so as a preface I wanna state that this blog is PG-13/TV-14 like the game, so there's topics regarding mental health, self harm, suicide (as they're factors in Siffrin's life, even if the focus isn't on these details its still something they live with) so it shouldn't be surprising that i don't take any issue with discussing the human body nor with depicting it.

in fact like, the comic (soon even!) will make jokes and tease the idea of showing nudity (NOT genitalia) because frankly, i do think the human body is funny. i've already made jokes about butts before so this isn't out of my realm of comedic bullshit. said nudity is censored, partly so i don't have to worry about comicfury/tumblr upping the rating/adding warnings but also the censor bars themselves are part of the gag

that said, while i don't think the human body is inherently sexual, i DO get anxious as hell talking about it even if my work doesn't flinch from any topics. (don't ask me how that works, i'm anxious just typing this LMAO?) anyway i just wanted to talk about this to get a read of what people think, and how I could go about it going forward?

i draw the Siffrins as skinny people. They're described as short and scrawny ingame* and I intend to keep true to that detail. But skinny doesn't mean bone-thin. I enjoy pushing body diversity in my work, and Siffrin isn't without fat. They (like me actually!) hold fat at their thigh-hip-belly area. my art has gotten more detailed/ anime-level realistic in proportion so this became more clear when it came time to not bullcrap-simplify the anatomy.

* (They're the same height as Mirabelle w/ heels on; the Running One and Siffrin afterward call themselves scrawny)

so like, the Siffrins are skinny. they're pear/triangle shaped, i didn't give them large breasts. despite that, i've gotten a few comments alluding to them being big? and that confuses me?

my only guess is that the outline just naturally makes everything look thicker AND/OR side angles could make it seem bigger? am I weird and have a distorted view of what's small? earlier today i even cut off the extra line thickness but i'm still getting comments on this. (NOT that anyone has been inappropriate or anything)

I know the jester pose itself DOES push things so, yeahhh, things are more emphasized, so maybe that's??? what's being referred to? my only hope is as the comic continues (it'll mainly be night segments like rn) and we see more of the two without a cloak it'll be more obvious they're not big honkers idk. like i'm just??? questioning my ar abilities here and way over thinking things 😭

Rustling sounds are heard, Siffrin sits up, disoriented.

Siffrin sits up completely, jaw slack in shock.

Only for Loop to pull back the tent door, showing that they're covered in a dark liquid substance.

They smush their face: (You hope Loop is as excited as you are.)

We cut to Loop, gritting their with a wild, panicked look on their face. They think to themselves: [YOU MAY NEED TO KILL THEM TO SURVIVE.]

Is Siffrin not allowed to carry his knife anymore because they hurt themself in act 5, or did he tell his family about how he looped?

I went back and forth over saying: "well, I want to try keeping it vague on if Tag Siffrin used the dagger because I like people putting their Personal-Playthrough-Siffrin onto them to keep that level of immersion"

But I walked my dog and thought more about it and, hm, nah. This isn't a video game, and I'm telling a specific story here. And at the end of the day, Siffrin is self harming and suicidal in ACT 5 regardless of player choice and Loop outright implies they've been suicidal pre-game.

These desires are baked into who they are, the timeloops only escalated it into the forefront. This also means leaving the loops aren't going to solve Siffrin's deeply rooted mental health problems either.

So like, regardless of the player's input, Siffrin struggles with these issues. I don't even have to mention if Tag Siffrin ever used a dagger in the loops, because in the last loop they did, and that's enough to warrant a dagger-ban.

And another thing I want to note is that while this is a comedy first most, I'm not shying away from the darker aspects of Siffrin's mental health because I think it's fascinating to explore and it wouldn't feel right to "ignore." Recovery isn't instant, and Siffrin is still dealing with a lot of under-discussed trauma. I imagine having Loop here will be good for them, because as much as Siffrin is trying to keep their promise of opening up, its different to have someone who truly understands.

So while it's not the focus of the story, we'll get a few moments that point to the larger picture. The story won't be a full recovery because this story is actually pretty short all considering,* and recovery takes years if not a life time to adjust to. it's always going to stay with them.

*(This was originally intended as a one-shot fanfic but i realized it'd work best with visual comedy. comics naturally just take waaaay longer to develop than writing. The story covers a whole week.)
