Neuro-urology and Neurogenic Bladder:
At Shree Laxminarayan Hospital, Neuro Urology provides complete evaluation and treatment to patients for problems related to the urinary bladder and lower urinary tract.
Urinary tract disorders are not considerably reported neither are treated well in our society. One of the main difficulties for treatment is the discomfort many patients feel in discussing this sensitive issue.
We at Shree Laxminarayan Hospital are committed to preserving patient dignity and providing the highest quality care and comfort.
Our Dr. Chintaman Chaudhari is one of the Best Urologist in Nashik, he has expertise on all urological problems, he is also well trained in performing urologic laparoscopy
Our nerves and muscles of the urinary tract need to efficiently work together in order to pass signals to the bladder to hold and release the urine at a relevant time.
This transmission is done by nerves back and forth from the brain to the spinal cord and then to the bladder.
When these nerves are damaged due to injuries or any disease, the bladder loses its ability to relax or contract at the appropriate time. This condition is called neurogenic bladder.
Tumblr media
The neurogenic bladder has 2 different types of bladder control problems:
Underactive Bladder
Overactive Bladder
Other general symptoms include kidney stones and urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Underactive Bladder also called Voiding disorder is common in both men and women. Voiding disorder is caused due to a spinal cord injury. It includes the inability to urinate associated with irritation, obstruction, urinary retention, and more common disorders.
Overactive Bladder also called Incontinence is described as stress incontinence, urge incontinence, and mixed incontinence.

Are there any symptoms of prostate cancer?
Early prostate cancer does not show up any signs or symptoms. They can be found through screening. If prostate cancer increases to a certain level it can sometimes cause symptoms.
You will usually be able to identify symptoms if cancer grows near the urethra i.e the tube from where you urinate and applies pressure against it, changing the way you urinate. But as prostate cancer starts to grow on the outer part, it doesn't often apply pressure on the urethra and so the symptoms aren't visible.
Tumblr media
Advanced prostate cancer can sometimes cause symptoms, such as:
·         Frequent need for urination, especially at night
·         Difficulty in starting to urinate, including a slow or weak urinary stream
·         Blood in the urine
·         Blood in the semen
·         Erectile dysfunction
·         Pain in hips, spine, ribs, or other areas due to cancer spread to bones.
·         The feeling of bladder not getting empty even after urinating multiple   times.
·         Urgent need to urinate- for eg. urine leakage before you reach the toilet.
·         Pain or burning sensation while urinating (it is less common)
·         Weakness or numb feeling in legs.
·         Loss of bowel control due to cancer pressing on the spinal cord.
·         Trouble or pain while sitting, due to enlarged prostate.
The above symptoms can also be caused by other problems rather than prostate cancer, but to rest assured it would be good to consult a Urologist, as they can perform the necessary test and provide you the right treatment if needed.

Tips to help you pass on Kidney Stone:
If you have already been through this kidney stone pain, you will probably not wish to have it again and you will do everything to avoid it. Kidney stones mostly occur in men as compared to women, and there are chances for a kidney stone to rise again if proper measures aren't taken says, Dr. Chintaman Chaudhari- who is a Urologist in Nashik.
Tumblr media
Simple tips to prevent kidney stones:
 1.       Drink ample amount of water: In research, it was found that people who urinate about 2 to 2.5 liters daily have 50% less chances to develop kidney stones as compared to others. Therefore, the kidney stones generation also depends on the amount of water you have.
2.       Skip high-oxalate foods: Food products like spinach, beets, tomato seeds, and almonds raise your oxalate level in the body.
3.       Have some vitamin C: Citric acid binds to calcium and helps in blocking stone formation. Research says, drinking lemonade water each day can increase the citric level and likely reduce kidney stone risk.
4.       Limit sodium intake: A high amount of sodium diet can poke your kidney stones, as it increases the calcium amount in urine. It is suggested to limit the daily sodium intake to 2300 mg.
5.       Reduce Non-veg intake: Eating too much of meat, eggs, seafood boost the level of uric acid. If your kidney stones occur frequently then try reducing the meat intake quantity.

Understanding Kidney Health- Dr. Chintaman Chaudhari: Urologist in Nashik
What are Kidney Stones?
Our Urine contains several dissolved minerals and salts. When our urine has high levels of these minerals and salts, stones are formed. At first, Kidney stones can start small but later they can grow larger, even filling the inner hollow structures of the kidney. Some stones stay in the kidney but they do not cause any problems. Sometimes, these stones can also travel down the ureter, the tube between the kidney and the bladder. If kidney stone reaches the bladder, it passes out of the body through urine. If the stone gets stuck in the ureter, it blocks the urine flow from that kidney which causes pain. Kidney stones are much prevalent in men than in women.
Where do kidney stones come from?
Kidney stones develop when particular substances, like calcium, oxalate, and uric acid, become concentrated to form crystals in your kidneys. These crystals grow larger to form “stones.” About 80% to 85% of kidney stones are made up of calcium. The rest are made from uric acid, which forms in people with low urine pH levels.

Up to 15 percent of couples are infertile. This means they aren’t able to conceive a child, even though they’ve had frequent, unprotected sexual intercourse for a year or longer. In over a third of these couples, male infertility plays a role.
Male infertility is due to low sperm production, abnormal sperm function or blockages that prevent the delivery of sperm. Illnesses, injuries, chronic health problems, lifestyle choices and other factors can play a role in causing male infertility.
Not being able to conceive a child can be stressful and frustrating, but a number of male infertility treatments are available.
