At long, LONG last, my hand-embroidered Iron Bull wheel of fortune tarot card from Dragon Age Inquisition is FINISHED! It took 111 hours of work overall, by FAR the most elaborate piece in my embroidery series. 11.5x19.5 cm in size.

If you've been following along the very slow progress of this piece on IG, you won't be surprised that this one has been on the move with me now for about 7 months while I've been involved in theatre work. I'd add to it while backstage, during tech weeks, and in green rooms while relaxing with work friends. As such each section contains memories of where I was and what show I was doing while working on it.

I probably could have finished within a shorter span if I'd dedicated more of my free time to it (same amount of hours probably, in fewer months) but I engage with these pieces like I do with the Dragon Age franchise as a whole: to have something comforting to return to and enjoy when the time is right. I hope you've enjoyed the slow journey of this one as much as I have.

in my heart of hearts the mythal in the crossroads is 6 feet tall, horned, decked out in armor fitting a self-appointed goddess borne from primordial war and a giant fuck-you dramatic feathered cape. it hurts to look at her directly. out of the corner of your eye you swear the shadow she casts is in the shape of a dragon. she's been stewing in resentment for so long the air just always smells like a wildfire and lightning strikes. ya'll remember the fucking puzzles in her temple? you wouldn't be able to just walk up to her and start talking to her, idc how long it's been since she's had petitioners.

if you want me to believe in the "like holding a piece of the sun" line you have to do better than the pajama-wearing default character creator template num 9 that we actually got.

Personal headcanon is that Bull is still part of the inquisition even though they are married and they see each others whenever they can. Sometimes that means years apart. Bull hitched a ride with Morrigan and the Inquisitor through the Eluvians to make this happen.

He stays for a while helping with the Antaam issue and then they part ways again. Just until next time though, there is always that promise.

He is way older than Dorian so the ten years gap between DAI and DATV is showing more decisevely on him and maybe he walks with a cane now and doesn't fight (as much) anymore.
