Hello, everyone! Firstly, I just want to thank you all so much for your support and I hope to continue exciting you. On that note, I wanted to inform you that June is going to be a busy month for me and that I probably won't be able to write. That said, I will post if I get the time to do so.
Thank you again and I'll see you in July (hopefully sooner).

Courage of the Fallen- The Stalfos Virus
Masterlist
Warning(s): vomit, blood, wounds, child death, cannibalism
Malon looked up as she heard the front door open. "Link? Is that you?" She set down her rolling pin and went to see. She gasped at the blood dripping from her husband and hurried to help him. "What happened?"
"Stalfos," he grunted. "They caught me by surprise. They're not usually out in daylight."
She frowned, leading him to the bathroom. "That's not good. That'll make things hard for travelers."
"I don't like this either, Malon," he sighed as she removed his armor. "Stalfos getting bolder and bolder. . . something is happening."
"It better not be another quest. You've done so much already. You tell Hylia- oh, Link, your arm! I thought you ran into stalfos!" She gingerly lifted his arm, which had a gaping bite mark on it.
"I did," his eyebrows furrowed. "Stalfos don't bite, though. Another new behavior. . ." he hissed as she began to clean it. "I doubt I'll be able to deny the quest. I wasn't the first two times."
She sighed. "Promise me you'll be careful then?"
He kissed her. "Always."
That seemed to be the end of it, but then Malon heard gasping in their bedroom while she was locking up the house. She hurried over only to find her husband coughing dramatically. She turned him on his side, patting his back.
"Link? Link!" She gasped as he began to cough up blood. The liquid was slushy and dark in color, almost black. "Oh goddesses," she murmured, panicked. She propped him up and went to go get a red potion. "Drink this, please," she lifted the glass to his lips. He gripped her wrist as he did as she said. His eyes flickered to hers, unnaturally dim but widening in recognition of his wife. The coughing fit settled down and he leaned his head against her shoulder.
"Malon?" He breathed, looking exhausted.
"I'm here, Link, I'm here," she kissed her forehead. "I'll send for the healer, you just rest."
He nodded and drifted off to sleep. Malon sighed, cleaned up the blood, and went and got a stableboy. She packed him a sword for protection and a warm meal before setting him off to get the healer. She then resumed her chores.
She re-entered the bedroom later and had to stifle a scream. In the hours she'd been gone, the sheets had become soaked with blood. She pulled back the blanket and felt sick to her stomach. Her husband's body was bloated and leaking blood everywhere. It was like he was decomposing while he was still alive. She shook him, holding her breath because of the smell of decay. A snarl ripped out of him, shocking her. She stumbled back and left the bedroom in a hurry. She scrambled to their basement, searching for an item, any item from her husband's journeys that could possibly help. She hurried to do so, but after some minutes of searching and coming up with nothing, she went back upstairs.
Then she did scream when she saw the pools of blood soaking the floor. None of it, however, was the sludge-like blood from her husband. The mangled bodies of those poor stable boys were horrifying enough, but much worse was the sight of her skeletonalized husband standing over them.

Courage of the Fallen- The Dragon Plague
Masterlist
Warning(s): skin shedding (think reptiles), intense fever, mutations, rotting, blasphemy
It was only a scar, he'd thought. It was only a scar, he'd been told. But now, with his skin burning as if on fire, and having actually melted his blankets because of his fever, Link was severely doubting those words. Volga was certainly getting the last laugh.
Proxi was being patient with him, bless her, as he shedded his skin like a lizard. It was a painful process, one that had him crying in pain. The little fairy was kind enough to pull the broken skin off, although she was unable to disguise her look of disgust.
Link glanced up at the fairy, his vision blurry and his eyes unfocused. "T-t-t-teeelllll Ze- ze-zel-"
Proxi shushed him. "The princess knows, I promise. She's working on it. Rest, now."
Link groaned at that. He'd been like this for two weeks now, and it didn't look like it was going to let up soon. He felt the fairy peel back a layer of skin and his eyes shot open as she screamed.
"P-prox?" He managed out, unable to move but very concerned.
She just pointed to his arm, and he glanced at it curiously and had to fight back the urge to throw up. Dragon scales had begun to come in like teeth where skin had fallen off. They were the same shade of blue as his scarf and they were moving like breathing. His eyebrows furrowed and he screamed in pain as she touched one.
"Sorry!" Proxi squeaked out. "I'm going to go get someone. You- you stay here. I'll be right back!"
Proxi did not, in fact, come right back. Time was not Link's speciality, that was Mask's skill, but he knew that it could not have been just few hours the fairy was gone.
All he knew was that it hurt so much. Too much. There were eyes all over his body. He had an unnatural 360* view of his entire room. His jaws had broken open by the growing scales, rendering him unable to do much else than growl. The scales did, however, act as tedons and allowed him to open and close his mouth just fine. The scales reinforced his teeth, and goddesses he could eat right now. He could spend all day fantasizing about shining his teeth into- Link shook his head. He was slipping; he could feel it, but stubbornness was a trait he embodied well.
Link fell into a deep sleep several times over the course of those weeks. He woke up to voices each time, but there was no one in his room with him. Great. He really was going insane. However, this time, there really was someone in his room. He recognized three figures standing around his bed.
"How could that scar have done this? Link fought Volga years ago," the pink blur asked. Zelda, he remembered.
"Some curses take a while to have an effect," the red blur explained. Cia?
"Oh! He's waking up!" The blue blur leaned over him. Lana. "Link, are you feeling okay?"
Link let out a low growl of pain. She touched his shoulder as if to sooth him. "Oh you poor-" Link's vision went white as he felt hunger and desperation wash over him. There was a scream, some yelling, and some kind of force field appeared around him. When his vision cleared he could see the three women huddled up together talking, although he couldn't focus on what. What he was focused on, however, was the wrapped up red stump that replaced Lana's hand. Internally, he was horrified at what he'd just done, but undeniably, he remembered the screaming, and he felt pride.
Goddesses, what monster had he become?
----
And that's a wrap for Warrior. Should I do Time, Twilight, or Hyrule next?

Courage of the Fallen- The Cloud Disease
Masterlist
Warning(s): explosion (implied nuclear), loss of family, radiation poisoning and mutation
The windmill on Windfall island had been there for years, much longer than even Link's grandma had been alive. In all those years, nothing odd had ever happened, but that had changed very quickly.
The day that it happened, Aryll had finally convinced Link to take her to Windfall island. She'd been so excited, how could have he said no? He'd got (read: paid) Zelda to ferry them there, and Aryll had delighted in that, too. When they arrived the town had been busy as always. Originally intimidated by the size of the place, Aryll ended up insisting that they visit every shop and sight. Link had followed along happily, enjoying spending the day with his sister. At noon they'd found a bench to sit on and eat lunch, mocking the snooty rich that went by as they ate. But then everything came crashing down.
Link's journey had taught him to think on his feet, so he immediately jumped in front of Aryll when the explosion happened. The fireball erupted from nowhere, and disappeared just as quickly. The only evidence that it had ever happened was the wave of smoke that surged through the city. The tickling of it on his skin was just enough to snap Link out of the shock of what just happened, allowing him to quickly pull Aryll out of the way and onto a boat back home. The two rushed to tell their grandma what had happened. Her eyes widened in surprise as she listened.
"How odd," she murmured. "Well, you two stay here for a while. I have a bad feeling about this."
Although the two didn't look happy about staying put, especially Link, they listened to their grandma. They always did in the end. Days later, though, Link fell over when he tried to get out of bed in the morning. He just couldn't get up, and his voice failed when he tried to call out. Thankfully Aryll found him and called for their grandma. The elder wasted no time in tucking Link back into bed, giving him a warm bowl of soup.
"That smoke clearly did a number on you. Rest in peace, Link," she kissed his forehead before leaving him alone to do just that.
Link spent the next two months in his room, feeling, well, nothing. He drifted in and out of sleep. When he was conscious, it was hard for him to tell. He could see everything just fine, but no smells hit his nose, nor could he feel the blankets on top of him. In the first two weeks his grandma or Aryll would come to check in on him, but those visits became less and less common until they stopped entirely. Oh, what he would do to see them again. . .
Link awakened one night to wisps of something curling around him. He found that he had the strength and so sat up quickly, startled. Was the house on fire? Where were Aryll an- Why was he floating?
Link froze as he realized that he was floating in mid-air and that the wisps were coming from him. He looked down at himself and panicked. He was a cloud! An honest to goodness boy-shaped cloud. He tried to cry out in alarm, but found that all that came out was a weird pulsing sound. Panicking, he floated downstairs as quick as he could and froze again as he saw the same wisps curling around two lumps on the floor. He hurried over to them and found two piles of empty clothes. Aryll and his grandma!
Link sank partially to the ground and wept, a dark blue rain pouring from his body onto the floor. He'd killed them! He'd killed his family! Link reached out to the piles, seeing wisps of different colors that must have been their souls, but the motion sent of blast of wind towards the window.
No! No! He thought desperately as he ran after the souls drifting out the window. Please don't leave me! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please! He threw himself after them, but the wind picked him up and drew him in a different direction from them. He pulsed rapidly in despair and anguish, thrashing all the while he was taken away.
------
So that happened. Yay! See you guys next week. Let me know if you have any ideas!

Courage of the Fallen- Golden Plague
Masterlist
Warning(s): flu symptoms, insanity, PTSD, murder and assault, apocalypse-type situation
"Achoo!" Link groaned, burying his face in his pillow.
"Mr. Hero?" Ravio peered into the room. "Are you feeling okay?"
"I think it's the new makeup everybody's wearing. . . something's weird in it. Although, I don't know why I'm having a reaction in here."
Ravio flushed. "Sorry, Mr. Hero. One of my friends loaned some to me."
Link glanced up at him, noticing his friend's glowy skin. "You're wearing it?"
"Yes. I'll go take it off- if you pay me-"
Link grumbled and threw a nearby pillow at him. "Oh, scram."
Once Ravio had left, Link buried himself back into his bed, feeling miserable. He felt sick to his stomach, and he weakly reached over for the trashcan. He was sure he was going to throw up at some point. Weirdly enough, he was also starving.
Link's eyes fluttered shut, and he began to dream.
He groaned as he sat up, the feeling of the sand beneath his skin itching and burning. He began to panic, flashbacks hitting him in full force. Koholint? No, it couldn't be. It just couldn't-
"Are you okay, sir?"
Link's head snapped towards the sound, and he had to keep from puking on the spot. He knew that voice. He knew that voice too well. But before he could say anything, she gasped. Marin, his love, looked worried from seeing him.
"Your skin?! What happened?"
Startled out of his shock, then he hurried to peer into the water. It was true. His veins were all raised and pink, and his eyes were bright red. His skin was dripping and liquid gold seemed to run down his body. It pooled around his feet.
"I- I. . ." he turned around and looked back at her. Suddenly he was just so angry. He didn't even know why, but he hated her. He hated her so much. The rage inside him boiled and burned until it erupted and his mind went dead blank.
When his mind returned, Link found himself on a small, golden island with a smoking crater in the middle of it. There were pieces of the Wind Fish's egg everywhere. It wasn't as if the being had hatched, but as if someone had shattered it.
But what really sent his mind into a panic was the mounds of gold, with faces and arms reaching out from them, frozen in time but clearly screaming in fear. Nearest to him was Marin, who looked so scared. . . he'd killed her. He killed all of them. Tears erupted in his eyes, and the golden liquid joined his skin.
Drawing in a shuttering breath, Link screamed. It was raw and painful, the effort straining his throat to the point that it burned. He screamed and screamed until no further sound left him. He fell to the ground, breathing heavily, eyes panting and wide. He rocked back and forth, trying to calm himself down.
Back and forth Back and forth
back forth & forth back Back and forth
back and forth
back and forth
back and forth back and forth
& forth and forth
back back back
back back back &
and forth back forth and forth
& and and forth back
Link's eyes snapped open, and he didn't even notice that his entire room had turned solid gold as he ran, shooting out of the house like a cannon, ignoring Ravio completely.
"Mr. Hero, what happened- where are you going- wait--!"
Link ignored him, only following the voice nudging at his brain. Go, it whispered. Go go go go go go go gold! Go gold! Everyone wants to go gold!
***
Hi, everyone! So sorry I missed last week, but I'll be posting twice this week. This is an altered version of Going Gold, a My Little Pony Horror AU. Go check out the pony version!
I honestly had a lot of fun with this piece. Like all of the other lead-ups, this piece is short and I'm sorry about that. The plot is always open, if anyone has any ideas.
See you soon!

Courage of the Fallen- Sweet Tooth
Masterlist
Here's a little blurb about Sky and Four's relationship in this AU while I work on the other diseases.
Warnings: violence, cannibalism
Sky normally didn’t feel like prey. He was used to swooping down on his prey from above or pouncing on it from the shadows. Hardly anything would dare pick a fight with a Stage Three Infected and rightfully so. Everything about him was purposed to be lethal. Sugar to lure. Shadows to stalk. Wings to pounce. Teeth to tear. He was, shamefully, a killing machine, scarcely sound of mind and knowing only killing and feeding. But now, in spite of all these things, Sky felt fear settling into him. He was no predator; he was suddenly prey.
Sky watched for watch him, wings raised in defense. Four, apparently, had once been a little person, a simple blacksmith who occasionally partied with the Minish. Now he was a hulking beast, a monster with an insatiable appetite. He was unstable as a cornered animal, and it certainly showed. His pupils were so dilated that he could no longer see, forced to rely on a nose too powerful to be Hylian. But these things, nor his height, wasn’t the most intimidating thing about him. No, it was his smile. His freakish, monstrous smile. It was like a tattoo across his face and was so wide that his jaw had stretched and broken to accommodate it. The only sound he ever made was this gut-wrenching, mind-turning cackle. The first time Four released that sound, Wind had peed himself.
Four wasn’t laughing now. He was stalking, which was somehow so much worse. Every time Sky blinked he swore Four got closer and closer. And now they were alone.
It all happened so fast. One moment Sky was stretching his wings after a nap and the next bright pink blood was against the rocks. His first reaction was his sword; years of academy training had drilled the instinct into his head. But then there was a pressure on his sword arm, his right arm, his sugar arm. Teeth tightened this grip before Sky suddenly felt nothing where the pressure should've been building. He gritted his teeth at the arm’s loss. He hated indulging in the infection, but he saw no other way out. Sky raised his wings and slammed them against his attacker, stunning it. He braced his feet against it and shoved it away, throwing it back enough for Sky to scramble to his feet. Snarling, Sky lunged at the monster and latched onto its back. He got it into a headlock and pulled upwards. It continued clawing at his right like a starved man even as Sky heard the monster’s neck snapping and breaking. His knees locked around its torso, and he was about to have the head off when it fell back, crushing Sky underneath and forcing him to let go. Rainbow blood joined the pink blood on the ground. The monster stood at the same time he did; its neck now snapped and barely keeping the head attached to the body, which was rolling around the shoulders. Sky raised his wings, ready to lunge again, but then the thing started laughing, rainbow blood seeping from its eyes and its palms raised in surrender. Sky stared as the cloud of fear lifted from his mind.
“Four?” He breathed out, panting.
Four nodded before looking down in shame.
“You ate my arm and my sword,” Sky said dumbly.
Four flushed and hummed what Sky assumed to be an apology.
“It’s-” Sky cut himself off. No, eating people’s limbs and their swords was not okay, so what could he say to make Four feel better? He hadn’t been in his right mind when he’d attacked Sky, so was he even to blame? “It’s not like I feel pain, and I’ll regenerate. But is there any way I can get my sword back?”
Four shook his head before growling. Make sword.
“You’ll make me a new sword?” Sky repeated to make sure his brain had translated that right. When Four nodded, Sky smiled. “Alright then. I look forward to it.”

Courage of the Fallen- Divide and Conquer Disease
Masterlist
Warnings: body horror, extreme flu symptoms, inaccurate bipolar symptoms, violence
Link groaned as he lay on the bathroom floor. He didn't care that the entire academy could walk in on him; the cool tile was the only comfort for his burning skin. It had been three days since that strange creature had bitten him; each passing day the fever had gotten worse and worse until this point.
Link risked a nauseous glance down at the bite. It was glowing a faint pink, and the skin around it seemed to match. It was located on his right forearm and the veins it was connected to were raised and angry, maintaining the same glowy pink before deepening all the way into purplish black as they reached the left half of his body. He tried to call for help but found that his throat refused to make the sound. He'd risked a glance in the mirror earlier that day and seen that his eyes were unusually bright and bloodshot, an unnerving combination. His nose had been stuffed up all this time, and now the strange liquid was running down his face, a rainbow syrup texture.
He let out a primal scream of pain as he felt something shoving at his spine from inside him. The pain was so intense that he felt himself black out. When he came to, he found that his fever had gone, as if its job was done. He stood, relieved, and that's when he saw himself in the mirror.
His jaw was dropped- and not from surprise. The skin had stretched and rearranged so that his jaw was protruding from where it should have been, but he strangely could use it just fine when he tested it. The inside of his mouth, including his teeth, was solid black, like a vacuum. The bite area was now covered in a vivid pink substance that had a cloud-like texture. . . cotton candy?! This cotton candy scabbing littered the right side of his body, and seemed to be taking over the eye on that side as well. The left side of his body looked drowned in shadows. It could have not been there at all, but for the searing pain that remained there.
Then his eyes found the source of the pain that had knocked him out. From his shoulder blades, two wings had formed. The right was crafted from cotton candy, and the left was drenched in the same shadow pattern. He exhaled as he touched his wings gingerly, all sorts of things flying through his mind, but the more important questions were missing. . . important questions? What could those be? Who cared when there were questions like Could he fly now? He eyed the window and was just about to go for it when Zelda burst into the room.
"Link, are you okay? I heard scream-" She froze in shock as she saw him. "Link. . . what are you. . . what happened?"
He blinked at her before grinning- his mind struggled to process what was happening so much that it switched to happiness without thinking. "I have wings now!! See, Zelly, see my wings?" He giggled deliriously.
Zelda stared at her boyfriend in horror. "Zelly? Link, I think you should come see a doctor-"
His face snapped into rage. "You don't like my wings?"
Startled and concerned, Zelda tried to backtrack. "No, that's not what I-" she screamed as the glass window shattered. She lifted her arms to shield her face on instinct, and when she lowered them Link was gone.

Hello, everyone! I'm Dragon, and I'm so excited to go on this journey with you. I think I said this in my bio, but any lore or plot suggestions are absolutely welcome and I'd love to hear from you. See you next time for a golden story.

Courage of the Fallen- The Timber Disease
Masterlist
Warning(s): body horror, minor character death, blood, & vomiting
Link would be lying if he said he wasn't a little embarrassed right now. He'd somehow managed to fail to notice the mushrooms growing on his arms and legs. In his defense, he was always covered in dirt. How was he supposed to have seen them? And to make the situation even worse, his hair was suddenly green and fuzzy and had stayed that way even after Zelda had forced him to take a bath. In fact, the mushroom and hair problems had worsened.
After the bath of death, Link began to try out his own solutions. First he tried simply ripping the mushrooms off. They grew back with additional growth. Then he tried freezing them by camping in Hebra for a few days. The mushrooms moved to a rather unfortunate area for warmth. Finally, he attempted to burn them off and deprive them of water by tanning in the Gerudo Desert. Not only did he get a nasty sunburn, but the mushrooms began to grow in his eyes and now he couldn't see. Zelda was taking constant samples throughout all of this to try and find a cure, but she never found anything.
Maybe a week after Link first noticed the mushrooms, he found a twig on his neck. No big deal, he'd thought. He was used to getting splinters, but when he tried to remove it he found that it was really in there. He began panicking and pulled harder. He gasped in pain when the twig gave out, taking a shockingly large amount of flesh from his neck with it. Blood poured from the gaping wound, if you could even call it that. The liquid was thick and orangish gold in color. Tree sap? Goddesses, was he turning into a tree?
His house was just up ahead. Maybe if he called out Zelda would hear and come out to help him. He opened his mouth and inhaled, only to begin to cough up bark; its sharp edges ripping his throat and prompting him to vomit blood. Link gasped as he collapsed, his body desperately intaking air to no avail. His body seized up as a tingling feeling was sent down his spine. He didn't need to look to know that more wooden extensions, were making their way out of his body. His body partially relaxed after sometime and Link dragged himself to the front of the house. Maybe Zelda would come find him, he thought weakly as he blacked out.
Link awoke to someone shaking him. He shot up and his arm snapped out to grab whoever it was by the neck. He clicked his teeth together; the high-pitched sound created helped him to "see". His mind briefly registered the person in front of him as Bolson before he snapped his neck, finding sickening delight in the sound it made. He inhaled the scent of blood, licking his lips before indulging himself in the meal.
He looked like a monster as he ate, he really did. The mushrooms remained the same, decorating his face and body. His arms and legs looked like they were made from the forest itself, with twigs going all over them. A few of the twigs even had leaves. The hole in his neck remained open, refusing to close. Golden sap poured from his eyes, his neck, his mouth, and the rest of his body. His clothes were torn and ragged.
Once the body of his once-friend was gone, Link moved, following the dark aura that was reaching out from the lake. It was simply instinct. He clicked as he went, frightening the birds away. He dropped down in front of the aura's source.
"Hello?"
The statue didn't answer him, and only cackled.

Courage of the Fallen- Cookie Virus
Masterlist
Warnings: blood, body horror, infection, two character deaths, mentions of alcohol, mentions of poison
Link groaned as he sat up. He felt absolutely awful, with bleary eyes and a pounding headache. It was like he'd been drunk; it was so awful. Odd, he thought. The Picori Summer Festival was always an enjoyable event, but there had been no alcohol. And even then, he would not have drunk any. This he was sure of.
Why then did he feel like this? All he remembered eating that he had not had before was a cookie that one of the little ones had offered him. A child wouldn't poison him, would he? No, he thought, perhaps it was an ingredient only the Minish held immunity to. It must have been an accident.
This conclusion, however, did not help his awful headache. He stood and found himself in the mirror, and his own appearance gave him a start. His mouth and eyes were rainbow. He rushed to rub it off using his sleeve, but found that it would not come off. It was as if his skin was simply rainbow now. He rubbed harder one last time, and the pigment continued to persist. Then he noticed that his nails were rainbow, too. He washed them, and when nothing changed, a feeling of dread settled upon him.
He groaned again in frustration. This was just what he needed. Now he had to go ask the Minish for a cure before his grandfather or Zelda saw him, or else he'd never hear the end of it. His stomach growled angrily. Link paused. This was new. He hadn't realized he was hungry before, but now the feeling was unignorable. The visit to the Minish would have to wait. First, he had to find something to eat.
He stumbled downstairs blindly, heading toward the kitchen? When had it become so hard to see? Upon arrival, he began to eat. He lost track of time quickly; by the time he looked at the clock again his hunger only seemed worse. Desperate and mad, Link stumbled into Ezlo's room. Zelda had figured out how to separate the green parrot from the Minish Cap (now hood) a while ago, and now the belligerent bird lived with Link and his grandfather.
"Link, what on Earth have you done to your face- why are you looking at me like that? Link? Link-" the bird let out a scream of terror as the child he (sorta) helped raise descended upon him in a fit of hunger-driven madness.
When Link came to, he tried to scream, but all that came out of his mouth was a sickening laughter. He scrambled away from the now-empty bird perch. He found himself gasping as he realized he'd just devoured one of his best friends. Tears filled his eyes and he moved to cover his mouth; he only found a gaping hole where it should've been. His hand traveled down to find his lower jaw, which was must lower than it should've been. He groaned again from hunger and stood up. That was weird; he didn't recall his head ever hitting the ceiling. Did it lower? What was happening to him? He was so, so hungry.
"L-Link?"
Link turned to his grandfather with a sickening grin, hollow cackling echoing from his throat, with blood dribbling down his chin.

Courage of the Fallen Cheat Sheet
Masterlist
Warnings: blood, gore, body horror
All of these diseases normally result in insanity and high aggression levels, but because the Hero’s Spirit is unbreakable, they keep their full control and consciousness. They are all contagious and have inclinations to devour themselves, each other, and pretty much anything that moves, even if their sustaining source isn’t flesh. They have become adept at resisting these inclinations, though. They can also put themselves back together whenever something happens using their own venom. All of them communicate via growls/clicks/pulses that they each instinctively understand. The Zeldas are all immune to these diseases.
Wind: Cloud Disease. His body is pretty much a Hylian-shaped cloud, soft and white excepting the blue eyes, which are like hovering blue orbs. He floats around instead of walking and bounces around the walls to change direction. His facial features are shown by dark spots in the clouds, like clouds ready to rain. However, the rain he expels is highly contagious. Even when it hits the rest of the Chain; it makes them sneeze. So, he’s actually the only member of the Chain whose disease affects the others. Nonverbal, communicates through facial expressions and pulses. Energy comes from water.
Sky: Divide and Conquer Disease. The right half of his body is bright red, with rose-colored highlights and heart shapes carved into his skin where normally scars would be. This side’s facial expressions are bright and cheerful. The left half of his body is pitch black and visibly terrifying. He is the bloodiest of the Chain. Blood is pouring out of his left eye, the palm of his left hand, and the area on his chest where his heart would be. Would be indeed, because there lies an empty cavity. He has a feathered wing on his right shoulder blade and a Keese wing on his left shoulder blade. This disease is carried through contact with the blood. Verbal. Energy comes from flesh.
Warrior: Dragon Plague. His skin is entirely covered in sharp, blue scales. His hair is kind of shiny. His jaw has extended beyond what should be possible, and his teeth are so large and sharp he can’t even close his mouth. His arms have a dozen extra eyes on them each, all of which are fully functional. This has expanded his field of vision. Powerful regeneration abilities. Non-verbal. Spreads from a cut from a scale. Energy comes from flesh.
Legend: Golden Plague. His skin and hair are practically gold. Sometimes gold droplets drip from his fingertips onto the floor. People he’s around will glow gold as well, but they only become infected when he touches them directly. He struggles to hold any sort of weapon now, so he instead opts for infecting any enemies he meets as a means to kill them instead. His eyes are bright red, both the irises and the whites. He’ll occasionally drop a clump of gold that resembles a hibiscus; these particular clumps of gold are not contagious. Verbal. Energy comes from absorbing others into him.
Hyrule: Hive Virus. Its hair was silvery and messy, its sword arm swollen purple and its eye bags dark and purple as well, all six of them. Yes, it had four extra eyes, two smaller, diamond-shaped eyes above the normal eyes. Its veins were completely raised, each pulse of blood visible. Honey dribbled out of the corner of its mouth; it was accompanied by black mandibles. Its neck and limbs had extra joints that added uncanny flexibility and reach. A third set of limbs was protruding from its torso, although this set was insect-like and black. It had translucent bee wings as well, occasionally fluttering with a buzz sound. Non-verbal. Transfers by stab from one of the insect legs. Energy comes from flesh.
Four: Rainbow Virus. He has a bright, constant smile with rainbow teeth, eyes, and nails. His eyes are so deeply sunk in that he can hardly see; he is mostly reliant on his powerful sense of smell. He is so thin it looks like he shouldn’t be able to move but can. Multicolored boils all over his skin that contain acid. His body has extended to an astounding ten feet tall. Verbal, but extremely limited and hesitant. Transfers from a bite. Energy comes from flesh.
Twilight: Shadow Plague. His Twi tattoos have now extended across his body. His canines have extended into a curled shape with a pointed end, which has caused the corners of his mouth to stretch unnaturally in accommodation. His eyes are solid black, with only a small orange shimmer displaying where his vision is focused. Black, pointed crystals stud his body, especially on his joints, and they tend to rotate to face North no matter what position he’s in. These crystals contain the spores that spread the disease, so he’s careful to keep them intact whenever he’s within ten miles of a settlement containing non-infected people. Verbal. Energy comes from souls.
Time: Stalfos Virus. Pretty much the same as the Hero’s Shade, only his torso has a layer of skin that’s just enough to contain all his organs and keep from spilling them everywhere. He’s wearing the armor in the comics, not the Hero’s Shade armor. Verbal. Transfers via saliva, so bites or shared drinking water. Energy comes from souls.
Wild: Timber Disease. Any cuts he gets are covered by a growth of mushrooms. He has dark eye bags. He has wooden planks growing on his body and sticks protruding from him. Moss has completely replaced his hair, although it has retained its color. His neck and limbs are extended uncannily, and he’s dropped a lot of weight. There’s also a moldy gap in his neck, reminiscent of a bite mark. Verbal, but tends to rely on expressions instead of speech. Transfers specifically from being stabbed by one of the wooden protrusions. Energy comes from water.
I shall post the first chapter soon. If you have any ideas, let me know!!!!

Courage of the Fallen- Intro
Masterlist
The Hero’s Spirit has been passed down through every incarnation of Link, the Hero of Courage. The Spirit has protected them, and always will, but sometimes, it seems that it should have let them go.
The Heroes of Hyrule have been poisoned, corrupted. While Hylia refuses to let them heal, the Hero’s Spirit refuses to let them pass. Now, they are trapped between life and death, sanity and insanity, and joy and pain.
Each Hyrule has had a terrible outbreak fall upon it, and the poor heroes have fallen ill. Unable to control themselves, they leave for fear of hurting those they love in search for a cure.
Jojo on Linked Universe created the AU this is based off of. Some of the diseases are based off of some mlp infection AU’s. This just simply us having fun with them. Go check these artists out. They’re all amazing.
Warnings: blood and violence beyond the canon norm
