tbh in retrospect i think bucktommy was the funniest relationship in the show. two grown men spend six months dating each other because they both really want to fuck some other guy but can't admit that this is the guy they'd rather be dating. the kind of behavior you might expect from like. the only two queer teens in a bigoted small town. not two men in los fucking angeles with whole ass careers. and mind you the whole time said other guy is completely unaware that this is going on and is just kinda thinking "my best friend and his boyfriend :) time to hang out with my best friend and his boyfriend :)" while carrying out an emotional affair with the doppelganger of his dead wife that will unbeknownst to him result in him spending a month living in el paso working as an uber driver.

so in the end:

maddie was pregnant for ?? months, we got zero deep dive into that, she was just pregnant and that’s it. only mentioned when she told chim not to worry about her.

the baby has a fucking stupid name.

athena sold the house she said she wouldn’t sell one (1) episode ago

chimney, of all people, made eddie come back just by... telling him to? and eddie was like “oh wow how didn’t i think of that.”

eddie and chris’ relationship? no development. is chris still mad? did they reconcile? did they even talk about the whole kim situation? it all happened off screen so we’ll literally never know.

bobby died. so what. i guess it’s just to remind us that maybe the main characters aren’t safe. okay? stupid

the wilsons adopting mara with absolutely zero setup the entire season.

buck moving out of eddie’s house,what even was the point of that whole storyline when it led absolutely nowhere.

i’m so mad.

sure ok. why did eddie even go to texas then? why set up that he’s gonna choose to stay with the 118 (not even like. a buddie thing specifically) for himself because thats where he belongs and then instead he’s forced to stay by CHIMNEY??? why did bobby die?? why did athena sell their house? why did eddie go to texas?? why was eddie going to texas buck’s entire storyline for the season? why chekovs el paso fire employee who abandoned them for a wife in another state? why did eddie tell buck he wasn’t going to make him move out if he came back and then he moved out?? why did bobby die in the middle of a season of rat disease?? why the silly and flippant tone after bobby died? why the 4 minute funeral? why the theme of people returning? why the grahambobby parallel except he lives??? why did athena take bobby’s body to minnesota? how is maddie already giving birth?? how long was eddie in texas? why didn’t chris ever express any desire to move back to LA ?? why did hen do literally nothing all season?? why did bobby die? why did eddie go to texas?

it's unhinged that Buck got half the family history on his first interaction with Pepa and a sweet nickname with family kitchen conversation in his second onscreen interaction. they really said, just in case you forgot, he got adopted into the family at first interaction. he's Evancito now 😊

it‘s actually insane to think about eddie baby trapping buck, a man, about one week after meeting him without ever dating

it‘s more insane that buck was willing to be baby trapped, he let himself be baby trapped no questions asked

and it’s the most insane that the kid ended up looking like a carbon copy of buck and lowkey inherited buck‘s abandonment issues too

objectively this has been an insane buddie season:

the tommy break up parallel to eddie finding joy

eddie moving to texas and buck being a mess about it

buck subletting his house so eddie doesn’t have to worry

tommy and maddie questioning buck’s feelings for eddie

co parenting over facetime

bobby’s death/the fight/establishing the buckley diaz family unit

and likely the eddie saves buck thing

the really only logical way to tie the loose ends together would be a feelings realization/confession but then again that’s the same show that made eddie put buck in his fucking will and called it normal best friendism
