10. really depends on so many factors. lils and i are close. we know a hell of a lot about each other and we front together more often than not (she's sort of half-assed helping me with these answers). switches between us are often greyouts at worst. but a lot of our system really struggles with communication and don't have the same kinda friendship that i'd say lily and i do, so they experience higher amnesia barriers and blackouts.

kian has a finnish accent but it doesn't show too heavily in her fronting voice. the rest of us fall into two categories: Received Pronunciation English and 'Code Switching Is Fucking Lame Let Me Have The Body's Accent Damn It'.

to elaborate: a good majority of us are british. kian and ezra are the exceptions. we grew up in a city with an accent & dialect that is often seen as being lower class, uneducated, and comedic. we grew up on the internet, and would find that when we spoke to people outside of our city in our natural voice, we'd get mocked.

to combat this, our strange child brain developed an RP accent (also known as queen's english or posh english). this is now how the body naturally sounds. this is also how quite a few alters (lily, glenn & joe, for example) sound, whether it's because it's what they're more naturally comfortable with or because they tend to mask more.

then there's me, graham, and a couple others. one of my roles is unmasking, so naturally, my voice is (an ever so slightly exaggerated version of) our city's accent.

i find this interesting idk!!! would love to hear from other systems who grew up changing their voice to avoid stereotyping & bullying.

17. yes and it's really funny because it isn't even her language. we collectively can speak some swedish because our partner is swedish but kian makes a conscious choice to lock the hell in for studying because her source is finnish and she knows it's the closest she's gonna get with us
