This OOC post will outline some of my additions to Dragunov’s canon background. I hope that these additions will add some depth and meaning to the character. I might also refer to this background information in threads depending on the context.

Firstly, my interpretation of the character includes a domestic/familial background. Dragunov’s parents and siblings, both alive and deceased, are very important to him. However, he’s unaware that he’s not actually related to his “family.” In fact, he was created in a Russian laboratory and implanted with false memories that would, in theory, keep him loyal and mentally stable.

The “family” was similarly deluded into believing that Sergei is their biological relative. His supposed twin sister is the only one who has begun doubting her relation to him. Nevertheless, they share a close bond, and the family is generally very tight-knit. Sergei in particular is fiercely protective of them, although his responsibilities to the war effort mean that he sees them very little.

His creators supplied him with an array of genetic augmentations, which would allow him to fight effectively against superhuman enemies. He was the final product of an arduous trial-and-error period; dozens of malformed prototypes were disposed of before he was successfully made.

In the past several years, he’s proven his value through victory after victory, both on the battlefield and undercover. His future, in the face of the mounting Tekken Force threat, is still uncertain. At any point he could potentially be replaced by a more effective version of himself. In the meantime, he remains focused on his current mission. He’s still under the impression that he can return to the normal life he remembers once the war has ended.
