Ok since im on a roll. I think some people should use their media literacy cap and realize some characters arent meant to be self shipped with or explored in that context because the themes of the media as a whole that theyre part of has a message that needs to be heard as it is and not derailed.

Anybody else see Kitakami as being a KanJoh-tied country? As if the island is virtually off the coast from the landmass they share. It also shares a decent amount of native pokemon with both regions, and is blatantly Japanese-inspired, that it can't just be a coincidence.

Maybe it was a direct territory of either or in the distant past before splintering off, to develop more of its own unique culture and language. I'm sure said language is overall still very similar to Kantonese & Johtonese, so I imagine anyone who knows either or can still communicate with Kitakami's locals just fine.
