I went off in a moots replies LMAO, but my rambling was of how I interpret Drayton's flaws, and I don't think I've addressed them like this here so it gets its own post!

His biggest problem by far is how he himself doesn't take his own potential seriously & prefers taking the easy way out, so he can deflect other people's expectations and not confront how his actions have harmful consequences. He's tried many times in the past, and he's failed - either by not impressing Drayden enough or by losing battles entirely. He was once like Kieran and cared so much about improving, to reach glory and finally make a name for himself + step out of Iris's shadow, that his mental health tanked even more.

He fortunately managed to see the light himself, and got off of the dark path. Yet, Drayton...overcorrected.

Now, he doesn't care enough. He's too passive. He doesn't try as hard as he should, as he's capable of doing. He's a gifted boy, but he allows that part of him to get covered in dust. Worse is, he's (mostly) aware of this. It's far more relaxing to just disregard his potential entirely, focus on having a good time in his youthful life. Not take things too seriously. Settling for less, no matter if he can strive for more, is the simpler way.

Drayton's inability to see his own worth in full, to truly LOVE himself and work towards better because he DESERVES better, is what's holding him back. It's holding his growth back, as a trainer and as a person. But ironically enough, his team is a physical symbol of how talented he is in reality.

How powerful and skilled his pokemon are, for him to have even reached the high ranks in the League Club he has, means something. (You can even look at how all of his pokemon are in regular pokeballs, meanwhile the other elites all have their teams in pokeballs designed to make catching easier if criteria are met.)

It's staring him in the face, but he's blind to it. Half willfully, half unintentionally.

- likes when you yell at him. obviously he doesn't seriously piss you off on purpose, but you're easy to tease, and he knows all the right buttons to push. so why wouldn't he, 'forget' to pick up the shit you needed, and when you get all up in his face, fire burning in your eyes, as you cuss him out, yeah, it makes his dick twitch, just a little.

- you take him shopping with you all the time because he gives you his honest opinion on everything, regardless of whether you like it or not. he gets super up in your personal space and says the most ridiculously accurate bullshit right in your ear, " don't get the purple, you're gonna look like a grape", "you like this one? kinda smells like caca- ouch."

- always calling your phone!!!!! like this man does not let you breathe. and its always to talk about nothing.

- also a big fan of "whatever you need baby." as in whatever,,,, not just material things or physically, maybe it's because he comes from a big family but he has this desire to provide for you, time, love, effort, emotional support, "y'know you can call me whenever." and he always picks up, drops everything.

like that one time, still a fresh month into your relationship, you had cancelled on your brunch date because your period had started and you felt ugly and in pain. and hanta dropped by later in the afternoon with your favourite takeout and some sweet treats and a blunt, when you almost bursted into tears, he had just opened his arms out and you both laid down on the couch to watch whatever shit reality tv you had been watching.

Potential contact became impossible after a certain point, as Angel Island gradually drifted away across the globe.

— The Land Walkers attempted to return to as normal of a lifestyle as they could manage, making one of their own the new chief and repairing what they could of their home. The Sky Dwellers however were directly exposed to the M.E. and its intense energy. Knowledge of the gem had already existed in the Knuckles Clan, and many members being able to stay in close proximity to it for the first time (as Chaos was no longer present) allowed them to study & learn more about it.

Namely, the prayer that their chieftain prior to Pachacamac (his mother & Tikal's grandmother - Mesoa) shared with the clan long ago slowly became better understood as time went on. The Chaos Emeralds also remained on what still stood of the Emerald Shrine. As a result, the Sky Dwellers became more connected to chaos energy and spiritual as a whole.

— Due to a vision of the past received by one of the echidnas utilizing chaos energy, the Sky Dwellers learned that Pachacamac's planned theft of the Chaos Emeralds was to blame for their clan's fate now, and that Tikal saved the world by sealing Chaos and herself within the M.E.. Tikal was regarded as their savior, and deemed a type of patron deity who watched over them now. (She did in fact maintain some sense of sentience while in her dormant state, and was aware that echidnas still lived.) A rumor formed and was passed around that the reason why their floating island was created in the first place was because Tikal wanted the rest of her people & the emeralds to be as safe from outside forces as possible.

— Over the next 3,000+ years, the Knuckles Clan's population suffered from terminal decline. New children born and raised only prolonged the inevitable. Eventually, all of the Land Walkers disappeared and left what is now known as the "Mystic Ruins" behind. The Sky Dwellers remained on Angel Island for longer overall, living off of the lush ecosystem nurtured by the M.E.'s energy & unplagued by natural disasters, but was not spared in the end. Knuckles is the last living member of the Sky Dwellers (and the Knuckles Clan overall - excluding Tikal's special status), having become orphaned, alone, and was delegated the role of guarding the M.E.. at a very young age.

Hi, me again! In the buttercup HOA au, does Grian need to eat in his code bodies? Or is he like one of Martyn's lore Watchers where he only feeds off of emotions? Or maybe every time he makes a new body, he cannibalizes the code of the old one if Scar doesn't need it for snacking? I assume Scar eats normally with the exception of occasional flesh, and Mumbo, being a sort of parasite, either can make his host eat to sustain himself or just slowly eats the host and changes them every once in a while.

Also is there a reason Grian needs to keep making new bodies, like the code can only hold itself together for a short while before it starts decaying, or maybe because he can't eat it starts to die and that'd why he builds new ones?

I did not, in fact, find motivation to write anything today because my roommates distracted me with watching pirates of the carribean, but the ideas have been bouncing around in my brain all day long.

In concern of Grian eating... I really like Martyn's interpretation of it with the watchers feeding off of emotions. Would also explain why Grian loves to make games and pranks all the time since he primarily feeds on positive emotions. Although I do believe his primary reason is always to make his friends happy, the benefit of being able to absorb their happiness for his own gain is an added bonus. I like to think the more emotions he gets, the more powerful he can be. Meanwhile, if he doesn't get enough to feed, he'll just dwindle out and fade back to become part of the universe.

My headcanon for the Watchers are that they're the main force to drive the world so it can continue living by making things interesting. Consider it like a book or a movie or even a game. Nobody would play it if nothing good happens, and if they stopped playing, the world within that game would just stop altogether. This is the primary worldbuilding I use when using the concept of minecraft inherently being a game as their actual world. The watchers are creatures created by the universe to keep it going by rousing powerful emotions like sadness, grief, or happiness. In this note, I am also a firm "the watcher's are morally grey" believer. They simply have their own goals and do what it takes to get it.

I think you're quite spot on with Scar and Mumbo's way of feeding! Mumbo is definitely a parasite and I agree with the fact that he makes his host eat for him to eat aswell.

As for Grian's body, my current headcanon of it at the moment is that unlike normal players who treat the world as real life and bodies, etc, as organic, Grian has ascended when he became a watcher and could see the world as what it truly is (code, for simplicity). As such, he treats his body and how he uses it more like an actual minecraft skin. Normal rules of real life and logic that ground a player also don't really apply that much to him now.

For why he has to change it every few days or so... I just think that Grian is just too weak or simply doesn't know that much about code yet to make a sustaining body (think of him like a highschool intern developer that's still learning how to code). I like to think that Grian's current bodies are being held together by duct tape and glue 😭 he doesn't really know what he's doing yet, hence the body malfunctioning or just simply disintegrating back to the universe's code (at this point, he would just give the body to Scar for him to snack on. Just because it's all useless code to him doesn't mean that it's not organic fresh meat for Scar). I also like your suggestion on the body decaying because it couldn't eat... maybe this can also be integrated since the entire organic world & code stuff is separated much like the 4th and 5th dimensions. It would SEEM that the body is rotting due to lack of nutrition, but it could also be a code error on Grian's part, who knows :3

I personally feel like Kieran, after graduating the academy and getting older, would go into a career involving history - like becoming a mythologist or the like since he obviously enjoys legends and myths. Not just Kitakami's, I can see him loving to learn about folklore worldwide and the various ways they've shaped many cultures in the past to the modern day. He'd have the most fun researching legendary pokemon and how they may be worshipped.

I'm setting up my own PLA fic and I need to jot these Arceus headcanons down for my sanity-

Arceus is beyond Mesprit, Uxie, and Azelf; but it is also Everything that they are.

The only reason the 3 were created was because of Life being created; Xerneas' accidental birth (details on that deserve its own post lmao) ushering it into reality. The 3 serve as individual pieces of Arceus' own essence, existing to govern sentient lifeforms in its stead, forming the foundation of spirit.

Arceus experiences emotion, has the capacity for knowledge, and possesses willpowever, but all are unlike any of other lifeforms. The range of all also have no limits. It is a truly pure being, the only one that is. It cannot be corrupted by anything, or anyone (*looks at Volo*), as nothing equals exactly what it is.

Nothing's capable of doing so; only imitations of its image will ever exist. It's called the "Original One" for a reason, not just relating to it being the first lifeform in all existence.

jade harley (NCAH): honestly, it’s mostly just vibes. plus her whole thing is dogs n stuff. dogs have a lot of hair. you know who else has lots of hair? people with NCAH

roxy lalonde (AIS): remember that whole thing where hussie revealed the last two letters of her name first, so everyone immediately headcanonned her as a trans woman, then it was confirmed that she’s cis? homegirl can have XY chromosomes while being cis! bada bing bada boom!

ok now the trolls!! (this section will be significantly longer lmao)

sollux captor (Chimerism): first of all, his blood is literally yellow, so yknow. second of all, duality is a HUGE part of his character! it just makes sense for him to be a chimera to me tbh (i also headcanon that gold and violetbloods are more likely to be medically recognized as intersex but that’s an entirely different can of worms)

nepeta leijon (PCOS): same reasoning as jade, but her whole thing is cats. cats have lots of hair. you know who else has lots of hair? people with PCOS

kanaya maryam (Klinefelter’s Syndrome): most people depict her as being super tall, and you know who tends to be super tall? yeah :)

(i know that it’s kinda implied at all jadebloods are female, just let me have trans intersex kanaya. i beg. i grovel at your feet)

terezi pyrope (undeclared, likely Chimerism): i feel like she would really love to bring up her intersexuality while arguing with a transphobe or intersexist. she would also probably not disclose what her specific variation is so they couldn’t pull the whole “you’re just a fe/male with a dsd!!!!” bs. also, balance is a huge part of her character, so i feel like chimerism particularly suits her

equius zahhak (Hyperandrogenism): his body is quite literally overflowing with testosterone. man is literally sweating 24/7 and frankly, no other indigobloods seem to have as much testosterone as him, so we know this isn’t typical. they’re all strong, yeah, but this guy is on a whole other level. i just KNOW this boy’s skin is oily as hell

(also yes!! i headcanon equius as a cis guy with hyperandrogenism!! intersex doesn’t just mean “man with lots of estrogen” or “woman with lots of androgen”!!)

eridan ampora (PAIS): ok this one is one im actually super passionate about. in the og comic, all female trolls are consistently drawn with black lips (with the exception of nepeta, who i’ve already included on here). all the male trolls are drawn without the lips except for eridan. eridan is shown to have black lips in multiple panels! back when it was first pointed out, most assumed it was because of how feminine he is compared to the other guys, but you know what? idc!!! that boy is intersex and indulges in toxic masculinity due to his insecurity!!! idc what anyone has to say!!! also his blood is literally violet so yknow

damara megido (CAIS): i think she would get a really big kick out of not having body hair, periods or the ability to give birth. obviously there are downsides to it, but i doubt those would get in her way of having fun. i also think she would really like reclaiming That One Japanese Slur For Intersex People

cronus ampora (MAIS): mostly cause vibes and the fact that he’s related to eridan, so it’s more likely. what can i say, the ampora boys are very “does being intersex make me less of a man?” coded

dave strider (MAIS): i know that trans dave is a super popular headcanon and don’t get me wrong, transgender icon dave strider will save the world!! it’s just that for me personally, i’ve only been able to see him as an intersex guy. though in his case, i imagine that he would find out pretty late into his life. and like his sister, considering how little it’s affected his life, he wouldn’t consider himself intersex either

𖦹 Every single night is a movie night. He just makes a giant pile of blankets and pillows and doesn’t want to move the entire night. He definitely needs a little one that runs cold so they can tolerate the sheer amount of blankets he insists on using. Plus heating systems. He’ll lay out heating pads, then pillows, snuggle up with his little one and drown them both in blankets! A lot of the time his little one ends up running around with minimal clothes on just to handle the amount of layers he piles onto them, socks are nonexistent, shirtless or a crop top, no pants or only shorts. When it comes to layers he’s setting the accommodations or he’ll be shivering bad enough he can’t do anything

𖦹 I don’t see him as a very active caregiver, he likes activities that allow him to stay stationary! For example coloring and drawing, movie watching like I mentioned earlier, puzzles, activity books. He’s truly very open minded with games to play and such! He just doesn’t like moving around… If his little one can get him up and moving it would honestly be good for him! He just. Doesn’t want to… So a bit of a bossy little one could do him some good! He’s very loose with rules, he’s pretty much incapable of telling his little one no

𖦹 Baking! The feeling of baking something and the oven making the entire house extra warm… He loves it! He’s also a firm believer that things are best fresh out of the oven, which is true obviously. But he’ll go to the extent of halving recipes so that everything can be eaten fresh. He’d prefer to bake small batches on multiple occasions rather than bake one big batch! This also helps with cutting off a little ones sugar intake because he’d not just telling them to no, there’s literally no more for them to have. Because again- He’s definitely not gonna yell at his baby. He’s only vaguely familiar with the word no

𖦹 Absolutely loves bottle feeding a baby! He just loves the intimate feeling of cradling his baby to his chest and holding the bottle for them to help them drink. And… Ok yeah it also kind of helps that he gets to hold a really warm bottle of milk. But he likes the intimate parts of it too! (˶˃⤙˂˶) It’s not just holding the warm bottle that he likes, however that is most definitely a large part of it

𖦹 So many cute matching clothes! He’ll buy stuff that matches and buy extra thick layers so he has an easy excuse to want to put it on! Like he’s freezing? Uhhh yeah no he just wants to change so they can match. Not at all because he’s cold nope! Also he definitely wears onesies with his little one. And footsies specifically! Wdym there’s clothes that cover your feet too and that’s only for kids? Absolutely not. It’s the best idea ever and he plans to make full use out of it, he’ll take 10. So lots of cute matching onesies!

𖦹 He usually wants to stay inside, because there he knows it’s warm! He can have heating and blankets at the ready! During the winter he practically refuses to go outside. Plus he gets nervous that being outside will lead to a bad experience for his little one, because people can be awfully close minded and rude. However while it’s summertime and with plenty of reassurance from his little one and the safety net of being in a fenced in backyard… He would actually love to be outside. He’d like helping his little one grow a garden and play on swings or slides, he’d enjoy coloring under the sun having picnics and watching the animals. He’d love it! It just takes a lot to get him to agree to it in the first place

𖦹 He’s fiercely loyal, so I think he’d only want one little one to look after? He’s wouldn’t be very good watching multiple little ones at once, if his kiddo wants to have a play date then their friend needs to bring their own caregiver because Rimbaud will be a total mess with this new child he’s unfamiliar with. It’s not like he’d resent or neglect them! He just wouldn’t know what to do- He’d end up being too pushy trying to make sure he’s doing everything right or not doing enough because he’s terrified of messing up. He knows how to handle his baby perfectly. Someone else though? Please help this man

𖦹 He values kids so much! So all of his little one’s opinions are gonna be the must important thing in the entire world to him! Even if they’re nonverbal he’ll highly prioritize finding a way for them to communicate! I think he’d really like using speech cards, but drawing is another good lesson! Plus he puts in a lot of effort to just be able to read his baby. To just read their body language, know how they’re feeling and what they need. It’s incredibly important to him!
