Very grateful to have got my wish to tattoo a Regent Honeyeater. Thankyou Roxy! I am very keen to tattoo more of these beautiful birds. The regent honeyeater (Anthochaera phrygia) is a critically endangered bird endemic to southeastern Australia. Less than 80 years ago, it was one of the most commonly encountered species in eucalyptus forests, ranging from Adelaide to Rockhampton in flocks. The Regent Honeyeater is now confined to Victoria and New South Wales, and is strongly associated with the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range. There are only about 300 mature regent honeyeaters left in the wild, largely due to urban development and the loss of woodland habitat, and the critically endangered species is seen as being on the brink of extinction. The beautiful marsupial wolf aka the thylacine with burdekin plum for Ryan. Swipe to see the video as it's a bit wrappy. I drew the stripes joined together to match the description Ryan gave me of the North QLD thylacine, knowledge from aboriginal elders that has been passed down through the generations. Burdekin Plum, also known as Tulip Plum, is an Australian native that produces plump, acidic fruits that are only edible when ripe. Though it is a rainforest species, it is incredibly hardy and drought tolerant. Happy New Year everyone ♡ I am very grateful for everyone coming to get tattooed the last year and my clients being super patient and understanding with all the shuffling around that the lockdowns and covid restrictions caused. My booking system has changed for 2022 so here is some new information to get you up to speed. •Bookings will be limited to 3 months in advance • First priority will be given to continuing work. • One month prior, whatever spots are left I will book with new projects, chosen from my email submissions. • Preference will be given to the projects I am most excited to take on (generally but not limited to larger scale neo-traditional or botanical pieces in colour). • Please understand that spaces are limited so I will not be able to take on every new submission. • My working days this year will be Tuesday to Friday I will be leaving Brisbane to travel the country in 2023, return date unknown, so this new system will ensure my clientele have the opportunity to get their existing work finished before I leave. The shorter booking period should also make planning ahead a lot easier for everyone. I am blown away by the amount of requests I get for tattoos, I really am! I am super excited to focus a bit more on the work that fuels my passion, creativity and love of art. Looking forward to making more tattoos & artwork this year. Greater Bilby with flowering kangaroo paw, on the back of the leg for Laura! She is so super tough! That is the knee ditch under the foot there. Greater bilbies are commonly known as bilbies due to the lesser bilby now being extinct. They are marsupials found only in Australia and are also called rabbit-eared bandicoots. A baby emu with fringed lily flowers for Angelika. Right next to some beautiful @jesseraytattoo work. Emu parenting is entirely done by the male. This begins with incubating the eggs for two months, never leaving, not even to eat or drink. Once the baby emus hatch they continue to be cared for by their father. They will stay close to him for up to twelve months. I'll have to post the healed one soon cause it healed so perfect 😍 The queensland day moth aka zodiac moth fly by day, and feed on the nectar of various flowers. They rest with their wings open and out flat.   They occur in the tropical north of Australia, in Queensland. Super fun Nautilus for Teresa! The chambered nautilus (Nautilus pompilius) is a large, mobile cephalopod which is called a "living fossil" having been around for about 500 million years—even before the dinosaurs. Of all the cephalopods (ie octopus, cuttlefish etc) nautiluses are the only animal to have a visible shell. Nautilus pompilius is only found in the dimly lit tropical and warm temperate waters of the Indo-Pacific region in southeast Asia and Australia.
