BOLD LETTERING = when gif is happening.
If the pain isnât bearable you become numb. Every feeling to touch from your body is washed away into an abyss of reaching sorrow. He didnât yearn to feel empty, he yearned to experience the heartache you had three months ago. Only to go through it again so he could hear your voice yelling at him. Screaming that you were hurting on the inside and heart broken that he couldnât mend you back together anymore. His fault that he was too numb to feel. Not because of you, but because he manufactured himself that way.Â
Away from you for six months, left a hole in his heart to fill. At first the adrenaline of shows and music filled the void, but it was temporary. Going out with friends at bars in various cities replaced the music. Poor dancing, contagious laughter, and platonic flirting with strangers. It could only hold your place for so long, as the alcohol burned down his throat. You did talk to each other everyday over the phone but it wasnât enough. You were both blind to each other that the love didnât seem to line up to Michael. The noise of chatter and slurring of beautiful girls took over the wanting to be home with you. Ashton kept an eye on him all the time, after you called worried about him. The big brother warned Micheal countless of times, hoping heâd wake up to see where his actions would lead. Michael was too numb to listen and care. So he did the unthinkable and heartless thing to do, he cheated on you. Cheated with some girl he barely talked to for ten minutes. A girl he barely cared to know about. A girl he didnât even know her name. He kept her along for a couple of nights on the road. Stringing her contact in his phone when he needed her.Â
One night that he had her in his hotel room, became the night he broke your heart. You finished your finals and now were free to enjoy winter break. You texted Ashton, informing him youâd be surprising Michael. Ash desperately wanted to text you not to come, but he knew better to keep Michaelâs dirty laundry from you. The scene unfolded, your body in shock, Michael running to your aide, and a girl smirking at you leaving the room. All of it, including your fresh tears, enclosed by the witnessing hotel walls.Â
He remembers your pain and the tears running down your face. He remembers that he felt nothing as you yelled your relationship wasnât going to work. Michael hates to remember that he did nothing to stop you from leaving. He escaped from the numbness as pictures of you on a date with someone new surfaced on twitter. You looked happy, and all he could feel was the pain he was searching for.Â
One day him and the band had a performance and interview. The interviewer asked who was single and taken. When Michael raised his hand that he was taken, the interviewer had a confused look on her face. His band mates were also taken back with his answer.
âI thought (Y/N) and you broke up three months ago, didnât she cheat on you? She was so cruel to youâ the question stung, following up with, âAnd have you finally found someone else?â Michael shook his head.
âThatâs all rumors, okay. It was my idiotic fault we didnât work out,â He answered with a statement he knew he shouldnât have. âBut it doesnât mean that she doesnât own my heart.â He sighed lowering his mic, letting the interview move on to some other topic. For once he smiled, finally feeling heartbreak again. Knowing you were moving on, and he was not happy.
Little did he actually know youâd watch the interview, breaking inside that you were haunted by the memory of him cheating. Damned that you still loved him, but needed time to forget him.
