I made Rebecca’s menorah, as well as her little dreidel and her Russian nesting doll that she has named Beckie.

My dolls have chronically frizzy hair, and I’m always lowkey looking for ways to make it better. I read somewhere about Volks Hair Wax, which is designed for BJD dolls, and how it is used for photo shoots to smooth hair without making it crunchy or greasy. 

I’m slowly getting my dolls ready for fall and winter holidays, and Rebecca had the messiest hair of the ones I’m working on, so she gets to be my model. Here she is, freshly dressed, hair unbrushed:

After brushing only:

Better, but a bit dry and still have plenty of loose strands, and her curls are more like loose waves.

Fingerstyled curls with application of hair wax:

Much smoother, though still not quite how I like my Beckie to look.

Et voila! I used AG’s hair pick to separate the curls a little. 

The kidlet is ready for her close-up. I’m fine with a few loose strands, especially compared to her “I woke up like this” style in the first pic.

The “wax” is more like a slightly waxy lotion rather than an actual wax, and, unlike regular lotions, other users say it rinses out with just water.
