Advice to new Juniors
Guys I CANNOT stress enough how IMPORTANT the storyboarding phase of your film will be and how important it is. In the beginning of my junior year I lagged with storyboarding and- and at the end of the first semester I had a 6sec animatic ( a fraction of my first scene) that was supposed to be a 1:30 (minute 30secs). That said when final critqs came around I was BRUTALIZED, the only person who hadn’t finished and the 6 secs I did show was very poor. That said it was mad embarrassing. In the end I didn’t even use that idea. Over spring break I was stressed to find a new idea and make an animatic out of it. With much stress, and frustration I managed to make one. Didn’t enjoy my spring break either- I had to pay the price. Lastly if there’s a major problem with your story DO NOT I repeat DO NOT leave it to POST!!! Post is a world in of it’s own not just “finishing touches.” Do not slack off in storyboarding and the animatic phase it will bite you in the ass- hard.

Some of the finished animation dropped into what will be my final timeline. I finished the final animation for shot 10 among other; shots I haven’t shared with the class! I’ve been a bit unorganized with shot names but I have been making great progress.

Calendar update!
I’ve updated my calendar but I cannot find a way to make it open up in a new tab/window. Oh well I’m in too deep now to change.

By far shot 15 has been a real neck breaker, theres so much animation inside of it. But I need this shot it really drives the story.

Where I stand
Right in my film I'll be changing some aspects of the story which will make changes in the animatic [updated animatic coming soon]. In other aspects I'm moving along the process pretty fluidly. I am knocking out backgrounds and I have finished the rough animation and background for the most labor intensive scene in my film. YES! It's gotta be all down hill from here.
