andrew leung . . gallagher (and beyond) 

           it’ll be years later. his eyes slowly drift open and he hears clem’s soft breathing next to him, the ceiling of their shared space greeting down at him for another day at a job that he doesn’t hate (which is more than enough at this point). soft but hurried thumping that should’ve put him on edge only has him curious and he peers over to the door, where teddy peeks in to ask what was for breakfast and that, yeah, he doesn’t know where his homework went so he needs help stat.

let’s start with the dance, even though i’ll be replying and posting more threads as long as they exist hehe

drew dances a lot and drinks just a bit more and he gets a lil tipsy but not to the point where he's like awful the next morning

goes to bed w clem who might have to wake him up the next morning bc it’s the graduation ceremony and he needs to be there for obvious reasons

GRAD CEREMONY! he flashes a big grin to the audience after he gets his diploma and insists he takes pictures with all his friends because he’s sentimental and would love to have something to take with him, wherever he’s going

his fam meets clem and it goes better than he predicted, even if him and his mom are still kinda not in good terms

at some point after the ceremony, he is pulled aside by lisanna, who has brought a friend who is a recruiter from Lexon Corp

the recruiter even goes as far as introducing himself to drew's family, who plays along with the masquerade of drew being asked to interview for a translator job (lisanna prompted him, because she knows that drew’s family isn’t part of the life)

his parents seem impressed, so does his siblings. though drew has a stinking feeling that the twins are hiding something from him.

drew asks them if they’re staying in d.c. or whatnot and their parents reveal that one of drew's friends is paying for their one-week stay in d.c.

the leung fam takes this opportunity to sightsee and be tourists for like a week hehe

drew and clem meet up with drew's friend from high school, fiona chu-pederson, in some fancy d.c. cafe. fiona is a lobbyist in washington and comes from a wealthy family. she confirms that she did pay for drew's family to stay in d.c  because she wants to see/hear abt where drew is going next. also gives him a grad gift (which the sanfransquad signs off on)

also she's a lil nosy and wants to know abt drew's love life so surprise surprise she'll def be interested in talking to clem hehe

while fiona isn't part of the spy life, she does have some connections that informed her of a rumor that a man named andrew leung may have killed another man named shen lon in san francisco, ca

while drew and clem know this to be true, fiona is still waiting for confirmation

when drew confirms it, fiona just nods n is quiet for a few minutes

"can’t say i blame you. i honestly would’ve done the same thing, even if i don’t know the first thing about hurting somebody."

she then asks drew again what he’s gonna do, drew tells her abt Lexon Corp and his interview and all that.

"should i pay for your family to stay here longer or no? i imagine you’d be busy."

"nah, let them go home. i do need to find a place soon. somewhere good."

not gonna lie. For practical reasons it might be better if teddy stays in san fran but drew is relentless and really wants his son back SO he'll get a place in d.c. and will just travel back n forth for Lexon Corp stuff

fiona will pitch in with watching teddy and so will the rest of the sanfransquad who comes into town. the one that stays the longest is winston, bc he just has online class for the summer.

basically it all works out, even with Lexon Corp.

near the end of the summer, the twins come to d.c. with more bags than what drew is anticipating

"don’t tell me u guys are moving in here too?”

the twins look at each other and both shake their heads

"no, that’s not why we're here"

silence.

            out of habit, emily grabs ryan’s hand and held it tightly. they had just delivered the biggest news on their older brother, a man they’ve both admired their entire lives. disappointing him was never on the agenda, and yet. drew's eyes widened and the nerves he's feeling, he wasn't sure was good or bad. for now, he'd go with bad. "you've both enrolled at gallagher?!"

       drew would rather not talk about his own fit, so he begins to think of others’ outfits he’d seen before shaking his head. “can’t think of one. maybe it’s because that others may see themselves differently than we do. i mean, if they go as a saint when we think they’re awful then .. it’s on them.”

       “ LET’S SEE… whose outfit choice today do you think is the most ironic ? ”   jo asks, glancing around the ballroom in amusement.     @gallagherstart​

          drew stood by the side, a rare spot in the back that didn’t have as much people, and watched the scene unfold. he laughed a little before taking a sip of his drink. “it’s beyonce, man. from research alone, her bodyguards are paid a fortune so she’s a pretty big deal.” he looked around. “you’re not used to big concert crowds like this, huh?”

      “Christ, alright, coming through — watch the ribs.” Aidan grimaces as he tries to navigate through the crowd of people dancing, wincing as one of them bumps into his chest rather harshly. “I think booking Beyonce was a bad decision, they’ve turned manic.” He comments, dark eyes sweeping over the dance floor. “I get it’s the final party of the year, but still.” // @gallagherstart​​

“then in that case, congratulations,” luna says brightly. she probably shouldn’t have brought the gift to a party, but it’s okay. “yes, don’t get too excited. it’s just a hat i knitted, figured something practical would be nice.”

            “don’t get too excited? how can i be not excited over a gift?” and if he was being honest, he was close to tearing up. it was unexpected, especially on a night like this. “thank you, really. i might honestly need it where i’m going.” the east gets colder than the west, the last time he checked.

            he fully expected questions like these from clement’s family, but he figures that clement’s friends are pretty much like family anyway so it still counts. without confirmation that rowan was either serious or not left drew a bit confused on how to act, but he definitely erred on the safe side. “we’re..dating.” he replies before he turned to look at her, slightly frowning. “come on, you’re gonna tell me that as a scare tactic?” even if it worked. what did he have? tsunami survival skills?

“so,” rowan said, standing beside drew and looking out toward the gaggle of party guests that were talking, drinking, dancing, the like. she gestured toward clement, who was across the way, and looking back up at drew with a raised eyebrow. “what’s going on there?” she was only doing this because clem was one of her best friends! she needed to know. she narrowed her eyes at him. “and remember that unconventional weaponry is my specialty before you answer.” // @drewsleung​

“Mhm well I like the sound of that” he mumbled and nodded. When Drew took his hand, he let his thumb run circles against his palm. The question caught him off-guard as this was clearly not something Clem was used to. “Yes, please” he then moved a little so there was some more space so the other could lay down.

           he laid down and went to look over at him, a worried look on his own face present. “you didn’t worry too much, right? when i was away?”

                      his joke bounces off her, and she skips over it entirely, being palatable — sociable is a muscle she doesn’t stretch often, and she isn’t really concerned with it either. ‘   where did you get them from ? they’re nice.    ’ she doesn’t indulge that often, but she assumes these donuts are from off-campus and half the temptation came from that alone. she mills by the stairs, not taking a seat, thinking it’s a good place to be alone because no one can sit without blocking the rest of the stairwell. ‘   what are you doing all alone ?   ’ she’s not judging, just curious. 

            he blinks, figuring that she’d prefer to move on instead of joking around, and gives a friendly smile. “cafeteria. made by the chefs themselves and i just took them straight to the dorm while still fresh.” it was a privilege that he’d miss, those chefs. there was no way to have your own personal chef without even spending a single cent, the way he would at gallagher. so he opts to enjoy them before he couldn’t anymore. “oh, just .. chilling. cool down. think about the mission and how i did.”

– “RIGHT, BECAUSE YOU DID YOUR BIG HERO THING AND SAVED THE DAY,” claire says, rolling her eyes at him. “ now we can all sleep better. woohoo. ” it does actually feel over, though, she’s just giving him a hard time. “ do you know what you’re doing after graduation ? ” she asks, knowing she’s probably going to hate him for his answer, but it’s fine. 

          “not all me. it was a team effort.” and even if he’s never been the type to banter with claire before, maybe trying it out wouldn’t be so foreign. he smiles. “you’re welcome.” at her question, drew could only shrug. “i’m thinking some stuff over, since i gotta account for a lot of things when i choose where to go.” namely his son and clement. “but i have a few companies on my list.”

“Move in day she was going through my stuff in the closet.” Yeah, they had to share, but she’d been good about only taking a tiny bit over half the space! Thalia had no right to toss her things out. “And stole my earrings last year, so, clearly she’s a snake.”

              it felt like that meme with the blonde guy; that while drew had never been interested in delving deeper into their roommate’s personality before, he definitely was now. “wow, that’s..not what i expected.” which, he figures as a spy-in-training, was a rookie move. he should’ve looked deeply into his roommates period but he’d been so busy trying to make sure all his classes were in order that it didn’t become a priority. “i mean, good to know, so ..thanks.”

        “i don’t think so, no.” drew’s eyes widened slightly as he looked at the bag before reaching out to take it, with slight hesitance. “wait, really? for..for me?”

“is it taboo to say congratulations before the actual graduation?” luna says as she approaches drew, holding out a small gift bag. “either way, i have a gift for you.”

“Oh, were you one of the students on the mission?” She didn’t recognize many of the names, but that was the only ‘exciting’ thing she supposed happened recently. Unless someone really loved finals! “Sometimes it’s nice to do things out of the ordinary.” The girl nodded, smiling slightly as she sat down next to him. 

         “yeah, i was. it was..eventful.” one of the more nicer words he could use, but overall he believed it went pretty good. “are you the type to do things out of the ordinary often?”

     drew’s right, rafa definitely should be in bed and not walking around campus, but he can only watch so much netflix before he starts to feel like the walls are closing in on him. “can’t stay still for too long,” he says with a small smile. “and no, i’m alright. i’m hungry and everyone’s doing something right now.” also known as, he’s too proud and stubborn to ask for help. 

            “getting stir-crazy. i get it. feel free to stay as long as you like then.” he grins before nodding. “i got some donuts and beer, as an after mission thing. hopefully that wasn’t too cheesy or anything.”

        “ YEAH, BUT IT SHOULDN’T HAVE, ”   he grimaces, because tommy isn’t too proud to admit when he’s wrong.   “ ah, it’s a long story. he was an old friend, and then the double agent stuff happened… ”   he trails off, and he may not be proud, but he’s too embarrassed to admit it was partly over a girl. it all seems so stupid now.   “ but thanks for having my back. you’re a fourth year, right ? ”

         after hearing part of their explanation, drew just nodded. he could understand personal drama affecting a person’s work, whether in class or in missions. he’d do his best to never have it happen to him, but he understands. “got it.” drew gives him a small smile. “no problem. and yeah, i am. super close to leaving, is what i see.”
