Corona Tragedy of differences
COVID-19 a topic that has almost changed the way of life. A change that many were not ready for, a change that has created a new normal (we are still to find the new normal). A new normal in which people are asked to keep themselves clean. Washing your hands repetitively, wearing face masks when stepping out, maintaining physical distance and of the least being responsible for one another.
All of the above supposed to be what used to be done without told twice when we were kids.
Though all of this is re-establishing what has forgotten in the fast-paced life this pandemic (a most used word in the history of words) has also reinstated to humans something that comes naturally to us, which is caring for each other.
The world economy has slowed down, many countries have stopped all activities for more than 40days and have used most of their reserves to feed its people. Each country has experienced these difficult times in their own way. Some have more cases, some have financial trouble, and India with its TRP rating.
An opposition that is always looking at putting down the government at every small mistake, news channels that are propagating their own news, and people who have lost their minds and are trying to become heroes by showing off their social work.
Yes everyone will make mistakes in times like this every government is trying to do the best they can to help. Some are doing it better than the other but that doesn’t mean that they are experts in dealing with the situation. There will be many factors as to why one has done better than the other. Our leaders collectively come together and fight as one, not point out the mistake in the public and gain political mileage.
News channels who have to be even more responsible in times like these have shown the very least. All we see is which news will yield a better TRP. One takes a very pro-INDIA approach and one that is very against it by talking about migrants and others are just bent upon the starved population. Yes, state governments have enough to take care of the poor but the point is, is this the only responsibility of the government’s alone. In these times a poor individual is not only worried about where are his supplies coming from but he/she is worried about once these testing times end where will he/she get a job. Because they know at some point freebees will and he/she will be left jobless.
The government should take care of migrants, yes they have to but everyone needs to understand that whoever travels back home will be kept in containment zone for 14-21days and when life tries to find its way back and things start functioning these very migrants want to travel back in search of jobs will again be kept in these zones. Rather than spreading this news one should understand the depth of the issue and support for the larger good. His/her paycheque is intact by following this story but many lives are decentralizing by the minute. They stay in cities or try to move back to villages all have consequences that we cannot presume.
Also, most importantly do your bit in helping the people in need as your responsibility towards humanity. This is not a time to impress or gain mileage for your own motives.
