Anime is great. Anime will be like “this is my character of ambiguous western descent. Their name is the most incomprehensible combination of made up sounds. And if not that, it is a name that has not appeared on a single birth certificate since 1773.
Code Geass went and said “most of these character hail from Future Sort-of-Britain, including our main character, who will be named Lelouch just like every single British person isn’t.” Then they decided to distract you from this by naming his love interest Shirley, cornering the market of 80+ year old grandmothers clutching their 3 bowls of strawberry sucker candy in delight. Code Geass didn’t even call it a day here they had one more trick up their sleeve and it was to name the third character in the group Rivalz, a name and a character which appeal to exactly no one.
Tiger and Bunny said “What should our western young-20′s heartthrob successful pretty-boy deuteragonist be named? What screams ‘young’ and ‘trendy’ and ‘brilliant’ and ‘sexy’? Barnaby. Barnaby Brooks. This is our Sex Symbol Barnaby.” I bet a bunch of ghosts from the 17th century were stoked about that one. I bet Barnaby walks into gift shops asking if they have any of the travel keychains in his name and he gets laughed out of the store. I bet Barnaby’s parents didn’t die, they just faked their deaths to get away from him seeing as they hated him enough to name him Barnaby.
I haven’t followed Attack on Titan in 7 years but yall have a character named Pieck Finger. That’s it that’s my roast.

It does suck, because my colleagues keep removing all my idioms, unnecessary comparisons, and rhetoric repetitions, and they are right.
This is also why GenAI can't explain, it can only infodump and leave you to assemble the pieces.
Not to be a technical writer on main, but I've been bumping into the idea lately that the only reason explaining yourself in more detail never seems to work is because neurotypical people are misunderstanding you on purpose, or because they have short attention spans, or because they just hate listening to you talk – and sure, occasionally that's even true, but most of the time the problem you're running into is more fundamental.
Every time you add more detail, you're running the risk of tripping over a bad assumption on your part about the listener's prior knowledge, or hitting the tipping point where they become overwhelmed with new information (and remember that you don't know which parts of what you're saying will be new information for them), or making a leap of logic that isn't as self-evident as you think it is, or any of a dozen other potential snags which, by definition, you will not see coming until it's too late to correct course.
Basically, every piece of information you add multiplies the odds of you getting blindsided by some vector of misunderstanding you didn't anticipate, even as it addresses the ones you did anticipate. The point of diminishing returns where continuing to elaborate increases the odds of unexpected miscommunication more than it decreases the odds of expected miscommunication is much nearer than you'd like.
The most effective act of communication is not the one which contains the most possible information, but the one which contains the smallest amount of information it possibly can while still getting its point across. It sucks, but it's the reality of the situation. People far more autistic than you have been trying for hundreds of years to invent a way of communicating which doesn't work this way, without success.
All of which is to say that "getting to the damn point" is legitimately a communication skill, not just an accommodation for people who aren't paying attention. If it's any consolation, it's something neurotypical people struggle with just as much as anyone else – if it was easy, technical writers wouldn't have jobs!

"Yeah, no, you do need high testosterone for geneseed implantation to take, but the geneseed doesn't care where the T comes from. Actually, loyalist chapters tend to preferentially select candidates with XX karotypes because the redundant X chromosome confers greater resistance to Chaos mutations, so statistically most Space Marines are transmasc. What? Of course it's canon – would I lie to you?"

The number one funniest example of people inventing bullshit reasons ships they don't like are "problematic" that I've ever seen was people calling Brienne of Tarth and Jaime Lannister "like siblings".
Fam.
Have you forgotten the number one most notable trait about Jaime Lannister.

That's the funniest thing I saw today. Why do you care so much about the rules in a game? Just have fun.
The bad opinions on your “D&D Is Not Queer” post seem to be a product of binary thinking plus where people use their consumption of a brand as their personality.
Actually, I feel like that’s the responses on a lot of your D&D posts.
Mmhmm, a lot of it is people not actually believing that the game as a text or a set of mechanics might actually mean something. Like, D&D fans especially are committed to the idea that system doesn’t matter and that game system is just a set of vibes. So when D&D is just a set of vibes it’s easy to look at the fact that there’s a gay elf in the art and all your favorite podcasters say “Yass slay” as they yass slay a dragon. Anyway this answer has gotten away from me. It’s dire.

If you go on this site and say something like "I'm broke right now, I'll have rice instead of steak for dinner" then somebody will come into your notes with the most condescending tone possible and say "EXCUSE ME but rice is FAR more expensive than steak", and if you disagree with them then they'll be like "Fancy gourmet rice cooked for you by a professional chef is much more costly than if your parents give you the steak that they won in a raffle" and act like this is a reasonable reading of your original post and they've successfully corrected you
