I can literally imagine in the climax or smth where cassian says that the system was nessecary and Rhysand was keeping things in order and the MC snaps back and says that all he did was built power on oppression and gaslighted everyone else.

If Rhysand had died then to be completely honest the Night Court is doomed. Feyre barely learned how to read, does not understand court laws, considering she’s broken many, and does not know politics. The inner circle has repeatedly shown that they will keep information from her, and to be honest I wouldn’t put it past them to completely distance themselves from her because the only reason she’s friends with them is because she’s Rhysands mate and she’s also only High Lady because she’s Rhysands mate. Also none of them like interacting with Hewn City or the Illriyans so any hope of them helping is gone, so assuming that the power would move to the next powerful person in the family, Kier would’ve been the next High Lord.

This is a very very late Happy Birthday Han Sooyoung post because I just thought about the context of this post today.

In TWSA, one of it's defining sentences is "There are three ways of survival, I've forgotten some of it, but i know that if you are reading this, you will definitely survive." And I don't know about you but sentence gave me the vibe of a dying man recording down his last words, perishing while clutching his most valuable information in his hands, in the hope that someone will pick it up and use it to secure a better future.

It reminded me of that Doomed Hero Trope Talk I was listening to. How a doomed hero can send a spark of hope into the future for the future protagonist to grasp onto and use to save the world.

And it resonates so well with ORV. TWSA is essentially the doomed (not exactly)hero Han Sooyoung's final words. The moment she finishes letting them out she draws her last breath and disappears. And it's the exact spark of hope that Kim Dokja uses to survive and later save Yoo Joonghyuk and the world with.

I just really wanted to share my thoughts because the TWSA summary always gave me chills when I read it.

So I’ve been reading “A Court of 'It's giving beauty & the beast' and 'Except you can't tell which one is which’” by ALadyOfGoodTaste on tumblr and it’s absolutely disgusting. At first I enjoyed it because Juno was chaotic and funny but not anymore because of the latest chapters I read.

This is absolutely disgusting, no matter how much I dislike the inner circle this is just not okay and the author shows no remorse.

I was pretty okay with ToG up until the third book where Rowan was introduced.

The scene where he just reminds Aelin that he had and I quote

"fought in wars before she was even born"

Was something I didn't need if the author was trying to get me to believe that this seven hundred or smth year old dude was genuinely in a consenting relationship with a barely an adult teen girl.

Like I like some ETL ships and have definitely written a few but there are some pairings where I just…never understood why.

Like why on earth would this barely out of her teens girl be so infatuated already with an adult man at least ten years older than her and who’s actively harmed/killed people she cares for and/or colonized her homeland?

My dark romance ideal was the thrill of the chase and the tension. Unhealthy and toxic in the way that they're hurting each other. Like a detective and a criminal dancing their own two person tango that no one can butt in on.

My biggest disappointment at the beginning of the year was discovering the dark romance genre thinking I was going to read Hannibal and Will type relationships, and instead all I found was a bunch of women being abused by tattooed, black-haired, green-eyed guys with a sad past.

On the topic of Darkling, I fucking hate Darklina. I can see the appeal, I can see the whole villain couple thing that would be cool, but people thinking that they're objectively healthier and better for Alina than Malina are fucking crazy.

The Darkling is a war criminal who's whole interest in Alina was sparked by her fucking ability.

Alina is a fresh eighteen year old girl getting groomed by this experienced and older criminal who has no qualms with using and abusing millions of others to reach his goals.
