🌻Why trees are at their best in forests, and mot alone or in plantations: In winter the birch tree often suffes from lack of nurtients, but the pine can handle the cold wintry months well. In summer it is the opposite, pine trees often suffer, eith a lack of key nutrients in the heat. In winter the pine tree is able to "feed" the birch tree through mycelium fungi, which send the valuable sugars from the pine roots to the birch roots. In summer the mycelium fungi arrange for the reverse to happrn, linking the birch roots to the pine roots in a "wood wide web" system. 🌲Hello, solitary tree Mind if I sit beside you And wonder a bit about your history...🌲 🌳🌳🌳it looks to me likde this tree is curved as it is due to perhaps moving soil base: tres sense where is up and down through geotropism. That is to say roots "sense" where down is, and the stem, or trunk "senses" which way is upwards. Perhaps the soil surface at the base is moving downwards on the rock, causingsome struggle to stay verticle, and the space for roots to grow downwards is also possibly limited due to hard stone surface. This tree is not having an easy life. There may be other reasons causing the curves, in particular heavy snow banks in winters, or even some catepillars who enjoy pinewood.
