was talking to an irl abt the dsmp and damn i rlly think like. as much as it would have been infinitely better if they roleplayed better, i think part of what intrigues me sm abt the dsmp is how imperfect it is? there's a reason why sm people have different interpretations of the dsmp, to the point it creates literal echo chambers and cycles of incessant bickering.

ik we usually frame it in a bad way but. i suppose for how much the dsmp failed to do certain things, it also succeeds doing those same things? like yes the rp could have been clearer to avoid ppl bickering over the same things over and over again. but also the fact that diff perspectives on how we should view the dsmp exists is a testament to how it sort of succeeds with the format they're trying to achieve.

like idk. god i wished this thing would be better, but omg do i love the discursive nature of the fandom that to this day still hasn't settled down. it's upsetting and thrilling in the most paradoxical sense
