i get to do my first real lab work tomorrow! today i mostly prepped for the week, including reading through a bunch of protocols and organizing my lab notebook.
i also did NOT sleep enough last night, so i'm going to take it easy for the rest of the evening and hopefully get to bed early!

I started studying the basics of philosophy. I am currently reading A Brief History of Thought: A Philosophical Guide to Living by Luc Ferry, and it's pretty good for beginners!

insane to think that may is almost over with. my little sisters got out of school today, so celebrated that and otherwise had a chill day. went shopping and made some movie plans with friends.
been lagging on some college things, but there isn’t really a rush to do them, so i’m not exactly dreading the procrastinating yet, per se lol.
hoping to begin a more full-fledged summer study plan after graduation trip, and beginning fully in getting ready for august.

unbelievable, but true: i submitted my last assignements!!! the semester is over!!!
this has undoubtedly been the hardest semester regarding workload, so i'm a little scared of the fall semester. 🥲 it's going to be my last year in uni, which sounds absolutely insane. didn't i just start my master's? though i know that the next academic year is going to be a long one...
i'm not sure what this blog will turn into during the break, but we'll see!

Finished reading Henry Henry by Allen Bratton while going through some online Complex Analysis lectures. I am glad I have been able to regain the capacity of balancing my reading list and my studies. Though exams are gone I must delve into some material for my research projects this summer, mostly fluid dynamics, dynamical systems and some C programming… I’ll attempt to pick up some of my forgotten hobbies, such as drawing and painting. I might even develop the courage to start playing badminton again though I have no idea of where or with whom I would do so. Summer has been kind to me so far.

I've made the mistake of reducing many of my hobbies to work. Moreover, it has often been work to serve someone else opposed to myself. The key example I inevitably keep returning to is the practice of keeping a notebook, both how I keep it and what I keep. Much of it has been informed by external sources solving external problems, instead of being focused on helping me solve whatever problem I have. To no one's surprise, practices with such flawed foundations often end up being draining. I'm trying to re-evaluate my notebooks, but in a way that I don't overcomplicate things needlessly. After all, I don't live to work.
