Tales from Hawkins: roleplay etiquette

Part 1: how do I join?

To Join the Tales from Hawkins roleplay please reach out to myself by either DMing me or replying to this post or any previous post related to the roleplay on who you would like to play. once you do this and have your role claimed you will then be sent an invite to the roleplay community.

Part 2: what is the community?

The Welcome to Hawkins community is a community where we discuss out of character things related to the roleplay. once you are in the community I will add yourself, who you’re playing and the @ to your character blog to the communities master post to help people keep track of who’s who.

Part 3: setting up the actual blog

To join the group you must create a side blog for the character you’re roleplaying. intro posts aren’t mandatory although they are helpful as you can write down your personal boundaries and headcanons about your version of the character you’re portraying.

Another thing to be aware of is that sometimes tumblr automatically makes it so that side blogs can only be tagged by mutuals which makes it unable for people to tag your blog.

To undo this go into general settings, press mentions select your

Side blog and then set it to “anyone can mention me”

For ask blogs tumblr automatically has asks turned off so you have to manually turn them on yourself. to do this you go into settings and switch the things to allow asks to be sent.

Part 4: things to include in an intro post

To note introduction posts aren’t mandatory but they’re helpful for other people in the roleplay, you also don’t have to add all of these in your intro posts please feel free to take creative liberty.

-boundaries: things you aren’t comfortable roleplaying and asks you wouldn’t be comfortable receiving.

-mains: tag list for other people in the roleplay group to keep track of whos in the community .

-headcanons: information on your interpretation of the character such as their sexuality, who you ship them with if you’re doing ships, silly facts about them in general.

-in character introduction: how do you think your character would write a tumblr intro? these can be as short or as long as you want no pressure <333

Part 5: tagging

When you’re tagging your posts make sure you use tags correctly to not flood up the main tags.

For example instead of using the #will byers tag use #will byers rp

Part 6: how to use the tales from Hawkins tags

The #tales from hawkins tag itself is an in general tag for anyone to use to tag their posts.

Since the roleplay doesn’t take place in a specific season we use subsets of the tag to specify to each other which season we’re roleplaying in.
