Thanocles, Poetry God
Tw for: religion, death, weaponry mention
Author's Note: I wrote this as a show of my writing abilities. There are 13 stanzas, 6 lines each, and a total of 420 words exact (nice). Enjoy!
They come from the land of the ice and snow
Where the river waters flow
And the raging fires glow
When their enemies ask for mercy they say no
Their name is Thanocles
And they are the poetry god
They are the spawn of the goddess of winter
Their enemies bones shall splinter
High atop their mountain old
They rest upon a seat of plated gold
They are nothing but bold
And they write the poetry of old
They forge words
Faster than the speed of Thunderbirds
From their fiery mind is made
All the words like blade
They are like a smith
Writing legend and myth
They craft words like a god
They are rarely flawed
They have a soul of fire
One filled with mighty ire
They are a magnifier
Their emotions are an amplifier
They are strong
Like a Tyrannosaurus rex
And their words
Causes tears and wrecks
In the souls of others
Spreading like venom
Their wordsmithing hammers sound
Like thunder underground
They craft words like dwarves forge swords
Their word forge burns hot
Molten metal poured
And pounded into sword
Their divine mother, goddess of the hunt
Is of the mountainous realm of the giants
Their divine father, craftsman of Nidavellir
Makes weapons for his clients
Their words causes hearts to sunder
Like storms cause air to thunder
Their love is great
It is not straight
They are different
But their autism makes them unique
They have an aura of mystique
They are the poetry god
They are a rune mage
And they control their rage
They have a heart of gold
And their soul is bold
They will dine in the Allfather’s halls
And their word hammer falls
They write legends
With help from songs of bard
They fight hard
With help from their mind’s guard
They will go down in the history of the world tree
As the mighty and wise god of poetry
They draw inspiration
From the gods of old
Who sit on their thrones of gold
They pull from the water of knowledge
And Mimir’s well of wisdom
They will build their word kingdom
They will ride their ships to new lands
With help from deck hands
They will drive their sword
Into their enemies
And their words will be poured
Into new weapons for the gods
They shine like the sun
Their enemies are on the run
Their glares are akin
To the stare of Hel herself
They will write letters to Odin
And change the form of themself

Dwarven Might (Poem)
Tw for: death, violence
We stood strong like stone wall
Against the forces of them all
For seven days these seven beasts
We fought with Dwarven ire
To protect our red hot fire
Our keep was burned by dragonfire
We fought and made them flee
We sail to end the war
Dwarves detest the sea
We hate these dragons more
Seven deadly dragons stand
Between our past and future peace
The island where they spawn
Men say it has no wharf
But nothing stops a Dwarf
By the end of that violent day
Seven smitten corpses lay
Our spoils of war will gain
A treasure for our hoard
And honor to our name
When we returned to our deep Dwarven keep
We saw the Orcs on our stone throne
Against them we fought
Our hammers did quake
Their cowardly bones did break
We fought them all day
And our warriors did slay
Our skin made of iron, and steel in our bones
Our Queen led us in
Fighting for our kin
Till victory or death
Fighting till the last breath
When the hammers crack
And it beats their armies back
Our Dwarven might is one that is right

Dragon Fire (Poem)
Tw for: implied death
Where once a city stood
Now there is scorched wood
Where once steel swords were forged
Now there is silent forge
Where Dwarf once fought Orc
Now there is an empty wharf
Where Elves once explore
Now there is no lore
Where once a city learns
Now dragon fire burns
Where once we grew in ages
Now dragon fire rages
Where once Orcs fell
And smithing hammer fell
Now it is barren
And there is no Dwarf
Where once a city learns
Now dragon fire burns
Where once we grew in ages
Now dragon fire rages

Dwarven Fire (Fantasy Lullaby)
Tw for: implied death
Far over the foggy mountains cold
Where cavern cities
Glimmer with gold
And swords are forged
By the dwarves of old
Far over the icy mountains cold
Molten metal poured
And pounded into sword
Where mighty hammer fell
Like a ringing bell
Far over the mighty mountains cold
Where Orcish bodies lay
Near the deep blue bay
Where dragonfire burns
And scholar learns
Far over the misty mountains cold
Where Dwarven fire burns hot
And Dwarven ire hurts a lot
From the fire is made
Every dwarven axe and blade

So here's what I do
I daydream a neat little battle scene or get a neat little idea
I open google docs (or samsung notes, if I'm offline)
I start writing the battle/idea down in story format
I keep writing until I have a chapter
I write the second chapter
I might start the third chapter, if not I skip this step
I lose inspiration/motivation and stop writing
Either repeat with a new story or come back to this story in a few days/weeks and continue writing because I have new ideas
I honestly don't understand how my writing is as decent as it is. It should be a whole lot worse than it is, not gonna lie
Also I'm not even joking this is essentially my process.
Genuinely curious! What writing process do you try to follow when writing fiction? Give me the step by steps

Update - 2nd Chapter has 1,459 words, which brings the total to 2,666 words. I'm so excited I've never written chapters this long!
Also I'm probably not gonna upload this story anywhere, simply because it's too dark of a story for the internet.
Someone should totally say that they're proud of me. /srs
I've started yet another story (idk what to call it yet) and the first chapter has 1,207 words. It's the longest chapter I've ever written in any story and I'm super proud of myself.

Stormdeep Chapters List
Tw for: violence, death
Deep under the misty mountains cold, the Dwarves of Stormdeep create powerful spells, while hammers fell like ringing bells. However, as prophesied, the Third Assault on Stormdeep will be the downfall of the mighty Dwarven City. It will be followed by a lethal exodus; crossing through the Skøf's Judgement mountain range, heading towards the Dwarven city beneath Thoradinn's Peak.
Part One: Battle of Stormdeep

Savage Seas (Poem)
Tw for: implied death, religion mention
I'll swim and sail on savage seas
With never a fear of drowning
And I'll ne'er again be frowning
If you will promise me your heart
And love me for eternity
No scorching sun, nor freezing cold
No son of man, nor god of old
Will stop me on my true journey
If you will promise me your heart
And love me for eternity
No glimmer gold, nor shine silver
No vast desert, nor high mountain
No deep blue sea, nor icy sleep
Will keep me from your loving arms
If you will promise me your heart
And love me for eternity
No slicing blade, nor beating maul
No sharp arrow, nor piercing spear
No savage sea, nor raging storm
Will keep me from my love for you
If you will promise me your heart
And love me for eternity
No fierce lion, nor strong tiger
No mighty bear, nor speedy wolf
No blazing heat, nor icy cold
No son of man, nor god of old
No shine silver, nor glimmer gold
Will stop my deep, deep love for you.

Prayer to Odin
Tw for: religion
Allfather, give me strength.
Show me the path, light my way.
Help me to see as you do,
Help me to know what I need to know.
Allfather, give me strength.
Help me to crush all the forces that oppose me.
Help me to find my spirit when I am lost,
Help me find my path, help me on my journey.
Allfather, give me strength.
Show me which trail to take, for I do not know.
Let me tate victory; let it drive me further than I could go alone.
Let me tase defeat; let it be a reminder of my mortality.
Let me be strong, when others can't.
And protect me when I am weak.
Let me be a guide when it's needed,
And guide me when I am lost.
Let me be a shield, behind which others can hide.
And be my shield when I am scared and cannot run.
Allow me to invoke your blessing,
Allfather, give me strength.

Prayer to Thor
Tw for: religion
Father of Thunder!
Your thunderous storms are mighty,
They remind me of your strength.
Father of Thunder, come patron god;
Guide me through the raging hurricane of life!
Father of Thunder!
Electrify my soul, give me strength,
Strike those who seek to oppose me.
Father of Thunder, booming Æsir;
I request your might!
Father of Thunder!
Give your daughter determination,
Give your daughter strength.
Father of Thunder, God of Lightning,
I seek your blessing!

King Honor the Mighty (Poem)
Tw for: religion
Authors Note: I wrote this in an attempt to bolster my spirits as I'm currently dealing with depression. One of my tactics is to fake an ego, and I thought that maybe, just maybe, writing a poem might work.
Deep within the keep
Where he does not sleep
The gods shine on him
And he does not weep
King Honor the Swarmer
King Honor the Shelter
King Honor the Smelter
King Honor the Stormer
On the battlefield
He is a fighter
In the caverns deep
He is a writer
King Honor the Mighty
King Honor the Fighter
King Honor the Writer
King Honor Almighty
Off to Valhalla
Where Odin reigns high
A warrior's home
Ragnarok is nigh
King Honor the Greater
King of the divine knights
King of the civil rights
The negotiator
Deep within the keep
Where he does not sleep
The gods shine on him
And he does not weep

Berserker & Depression & Aloneness (Poem)
Tw for: Implied drowning
Strike of lightning
Boom of thunder
Like the flow of magma
And the doom at the end
Berserker spirit never leaves me
Blow of hammers
Slice of a sword
Pouring molten iron
Pounding my spirits down
The depression it never leaves me
It's far from nice
Like cement shoes
Pulling me down under
Leaving my heart sunder
The aloneness it never leaves me
But one good day
Changed all of it
And one loving lover
Has repaired all of it
I thank you, my dearest, for your love

Prayer to Skadi
Tw for: religion
Mother of the Winter!
The howls of your wolves,
They are sweet tunes to my ears.
Mother of the Winter, come patroness;
Guide me through the crystal woods of life!
Mother of the Winter!
Kindle my fierce desires,
Shield me with your white cloak.
Mother of the Winter, proud northern giantess,
I invoke your strength!
Mother of the Winter!
Raise the spirit of freedom,
Lead your daughter into the chase.
Mother of the Winter, ignite the flames of fearlessness,
Wake your daughter's will to fight!
Mother of the Winter!
I seek your companions,
I summon your instinct.
Mother of the Winter, defend your kind,
Guard me from the hateful hands of the fools!

Fury (Writing)
Tw for: No Trigger Warning
Flow of the lava
Heat of the fire
Strike of the lightning
Boom of the thunder
The fury it never leaves me
Lock up the cage
And rattle the chains
Long have I silenced the cry
Long have I forced it down
The rage it drains me away
Pour out the anger
And hide it away
To carry the pain
To keep it contained
The wrath it burns me away
Like an ache in my heart
Like a rabid beast gnawing away
Like a pain in my soul
Like a burn in my bones
The savagery makes a hole
Flow of the lava
Heat of the fire
Strike of the lightning
Boom of the thunder
The fury it never leaves me

The Misty Mountains (Poem)
Tw for: No Trigger Warning
Far over the misty mountains cold
Where cavern cities glimmer with gold
Where the Dwarves write powerful spell
And smithing hammer fell
Like ringing bell
Far over the misty mountains cold
Home of the ancient high gods of old
Where Dwarven warriors make home
And Elvish kings explore
Writing old lore
Far over the misty mountains cold
Avalanches rule, frozen lakes sigh
Where the cold wolves of winter hunt
Thunder booms over sky
And lightning strikes
Far over the misty mountains cold
Where the Giants make their savage home
Where Orcs siege every summer
And Dwarves craft sword for all
Molten steel poured
