Trapped in Identity Biases.

So here we are in social media.

Trapped in identity biases. 

We show what we want to show to the world, we show what we want people see in us. We tend to show the side that we are trying to be or wishing to be.

Some people want to show to the world, that they are wise. So some people post a lot about wise captions or wise quotes with their photos. She/he is trying to be wise.

Some people want to show to the world, that they are happy and confidence with their life.. but actually they are not really happy and confidence.. they post a lot about their happy life, work, friends, experiences, etc. She/he are trying to be happy.

Some people may looks introvert, but they posts a lot about moments with friends or family.. which are actually people who’s very afraid of losing them.. 

Some people want to show to the world, that they are healthy. So some people post a lot about their workout or healthy habbit. Maybe she/he doesnt feel very healthy before so she/he is trying to show she/he is healthy now. 

Some people want to show to the world, that they are religious. So they posts a lot about religious contents, quotes or sayings.. they are trying to be religious.

So, many people want to be seen in many different ways.. which is paradoxical sometimes. Im NOT generalizing everyone in social media, im not aiming to anyone in my social media too. Im NOT seeing everyone in social media is bias, And im not persuade you guys to judge people. I can see some of people is just being trully who they are. 

Some people who’s being who they are will not showing things they consider it as an usual thing for them. I found some of them only show some epic, meaningful, and deep moments. It represents who they trully are, not who they are trying to be. Because it is not so intense. What is not so intense? the frequency. Because its meaningful, its not happen that often. They posts are flowing, just like life. its not monotous. If you want to see social media as a representative of someone’s life, than it must be some moments of happiness, wise,making fun of her/himself, silliness, humour, sadness, anxiety, and etc that happens in our life. If you only see one side of people in their social media, its not a representative of their life. Maybe its bias.   Here i give an example of a person who i think is just being who she is in social media She doesnt post frequently, apalagi pake instastory. She was a singer, and now she lives abroad with her husband. I followed her instagram and i saw she only posts about her epic moments, activities, hobbies, place, photography, insights, jokes, even sadness sometimes. I saw her posts is flowing. Just being who she is, she doesnt care what people think. She doesnt need to keep her image, she’s actually very smart and talented, but she often making fun of herself. She enjoy her life.

Well what im trying to say is, we can not see people only through their social media. BUT you can see some people who shows their trully self in social media, you can feel that, if you havent meet that person. But if you already meet that person even only for once, you can see it and feel it for the first impressions, its them. No need second chance. Because they always be themselves. And so how about me ? well you can free judge me as what you see.

Cause that’s how social media works, isnt it?
