Hi Tumblr—long time no see! In the four years since I've been on this blog, I've finished college, started a PhD in Biology, and moved from California to NYC. I'm here with an urgent message—we need to protect science.

There are nationwide Stand Up for Science protests taking place in DC & local cities on March 7th, in defense of science as a public good that benefits everyone. More information is available at www.standupforscience2025.org. I'd love to see you all there.

hi!!! sorry that i’ve been kind of mia for the past few days. i was studying for my midterm that i had yesterday! it went really well! so now i’ll try and post more frequently! while i was cleaning my room i found some old books! process by kafka which i actually really enjoyed reading and a compilation of love letters sent throughout history which is so beautiful on the inside!! also enjoy a pic of the santa maria de la salute that i took on trip to italy :)

I have had this blog for about a year now, and I’ve come to realise the unattainable perfection of studyblrs. I created this account to motivate and educate myself and I feel as though these ‘perfect study notes’ hold unrealistic expectations. This is why I have decided to post things that are more realistic, educational and have a positive impact on the community. Please reblog this to spread the message: You do not need perfect notes, every stationary item, a macbook, top grades or an aesthetic study space to be a studyblr. All you need to do is do the best you can.

9.22.19 ♡  88/100 days of productivity

I have a bunch of exams and quizzes and club events this week I’m dying 😫 Stayed at a cafe for 8 hours today and my butt was hurting the whole time. I wish I could just study at home but I get distracted so easily and I’d just fall asleep so I go to cafes but I spend too much money from buying food and drinks there. Unless I don’t buy anything and just study there hmm 🤔

just a friendly reminder that its easy to glamorize studying and being productive 24/7. but i’m here to say, that’s not always reality and it’s not easy to be productive all day every day..even as a college student.

i think it’s really easy to see study pics like this (and even more **trendy looking then this) and think you need to get your sh** together. and..maybe you do! but i’m just here to say, life isn’t always like that. some days studying and working is really easy and you just have that buzz that lets you fly through your work. but there are days where it’s not going to be like that. i’ve had a whole week of that this week. and i’ve had weeks of that in past semesters too. and it’s okay!! because even though we live in a hustle and bustle world, we are HUMAN and sometimes we cannot handle tasks at the rate they are being thrown at us. it’s okay to slow down, it’s okay to only cross one thing off your to-do list (or nothing for that matter). do what you need to do to reset and dont tack on extra guilt for doing so! humans need a reset day(s) too.
