Hi there. I... can't read what you wrote, for some reason? Maybe it's just me, this headache is killing me.
Sorry about that, if it's on me.

[This letter is difficult to read. Nonsense scrawls of text litter the page, all written over each other a million times. Luckily, the real message is glowing, so you can distinguish the words from the rest of the nonsense.]
SORRY

[A few pieces of paper fall out of the envelope. They seem to be three different letters...Or...Two letters and a piece paper full of ranting. This first one is just a mere ball of slightly wet, crumpled paper. The letters are connected to the ball with some tape.]
[Quite a few things on this ball are unreadable and completely smeared]
What is it with these letters?! Why is this thing of [####]
Why are they still here???? I didn't dream these conversations..[####]?
Well, no. After checking, definitely not all of these letters are my handwriting. I didn't [#####] that. But if they aren't disappearing soon...
You know what, hell, maybe whoever is messing with me has mercy when I throw this bullshit out of the window. Maybe taping the letters to the ball and screaming something around the lines of [##########] helps.

Viper,
Glad to hear from you again! I was starting to get a bit worried.
Yeah, I'm. Doing my best to take care of myself, at least. Easier said than done, but thank you :)
That's an interesting question. I've been trying to wrack my brain to figure out who this "Inky" could be, or what, but I've got nothing :/ Hopefully we'll learn more soon.
There's a thought! I'll try reading the paper with the mirror tomorrow morning, it's getting a little late on my end. As much as "time" exists in this void.
Yes! You're right. One of the four spirits of the winds in Greek mythology, I think? I wish I had my book with me. Each of the four spirits was a different cardinal direction. North was Boreas, I think? I can't remember the others, though.
Yes, luckily, everything seems to be healing without issue :)
Onto the second letter...
No worries! I'm just glad i heard from you eventually :)
That's an idea too! I'll try that one out in the morning as well. This is the first time I've looked forward to another morning here :)
No, I don't like the lilies either. But. Well. The closet is there, and I'm pretty sure there's still things I need there. I promise I'll be careful if I ever need to head in there again, though.
Ah, jeez. Yeah, I hope you got the rest you needed, Viper.
Speaking of, I should drop off as well. See you all in the morning, and sleep well :)

Well, it’s been a bit quiet lately.
Updates from today and the last little bit: I managed to crawl inside those other closets and looked on the other side of the sliding doors. There were indeed two more papers, one behind each one. And I’m sorry, I know I’m not supposed to go through the lily room, but there’s still a clear path to that closet for now and I’m getting driven up the wall by just being idle, so. Yeah.
Anyhow. The other papers have holes too. They’re in similar places, but not exactly the same as the others. I’ll try to figure out what I can do with the papers now, just wanted to send out that quick update first.
Hope your day/night goes well.

Status of the House
Office: This is where the letters arrive and where they’re usually sent from. There used to be two desks and a couch, but all furniture except the letter-writing desk and the chair that goes with vanished on day two. (0 of 1 remaining)
Bedroom: There are eyes on the ceiling that only appear in the dark. The box appeared here on day three. (1 of 1 remaining)
Lily room: There’s white lilies here that are starting to grow in number exponentially. (Event has not triggered yet) (0 of 0 remaining)
Bathroom 1: Dirty and crawling with all different sorts of bugs. The water never gets hot. The longer the water runs, the grosser it gets. A pristine mirror appeared in here on day two. (? of ? remaining)
Bathroom 2: Pristine and organized. However, there is a constant feeling of being watched and the shadows seem to move. A dirty scrap of paper with constantly changing nonsense symbols and text appeared here on day two. (? of ? remaining)
Kitchen: Food appears on the counters here. The fridge and cabinets are all lined with barbed wire. There is a key inside the oven, but it is red-hot from heat, and Echo refuses to touch it without protection. (1 of 1 remaining)
Living room: Fairly boring, chairs/sofas are uncomfortable. Some mediocre books are provided. (2 of 2 remaining)
Dining room: Dolls have an eternal looping tea party in silence. Joining them makes them all freeze and stare until you leave, and then they resume from where they left off. The (chained up) door to outside is here. (1 of 1 remaining)
Closets (coat closet in dining room, closet in bedroom, closet in lily room): Filled with junk and clutter. Harmed Echo when tumbling out unexpectedly. An odd paper with holes cut out was found taped to the inside of the coat closet’s door (opens outwards.) Unknown if the other two closets have these, as they’re sliding doors and Echo would need to enter the closets to find out. (2 of 2 remaining)
Items: Pristine mirror, smudged paper, paper with holes, the box (locked)
Completed: 1 of 11

(Image description: Three black and white drawings of three types of white lilies. One is labeled "Easter lily," one is labeled "Madonna lily," and the last is labeled "Royal lily." Next to them, split into two parts, is a bullet point list labeled "Spiritual meaning." The items on the list are: departed souls, symbol for funerals, death (the word death is in all caps,) rejuvenation of the soul, purity, commitment, rebirth. /end ID)
Viper,
I put the box in the living room, but I definitely could set it on the floor in the office. It's not too big or heavy, so it's not a pain to move around or anything. About the size of a large jewelry box or so, I guess?
Yeah... that's what I was trying not to think about with the lilies. Without other death symbols around, I couldn't be completely sure. Still, you're probably right, better to err on the side of caution.

Only one new thing appeared this time when I woke up, so that’s something. Maybe it’ll stop now.
Anyhow, it’s a locked white box. It’s inlaid with gold, or something, but there’s not really any clear pattern to it. The lines are just kind of all over the place.
Oh, yeah. And there’s three more of those white lilies. Not sure what’s up with those, but given the rest of this place, I’ll take a wild guess and say this may not be good news. Just maybe.
Also: I can’t believe I managed not to mention the door in my last letter. You’d think I’d remember something like that XD
Where the back door would be in my apartment, there isn’t anything. Just wall. The front door, though, is chained up; I can’t reach the lock or the doorknob or anything with all these chains in the way. Each chain does have a keyhole somewhere or other, which at least presumably will make the chains vanish or fall down or something? I hope so, at least.
Anyhow. Hope you’re all having a good day/night/something.

[The writing of this letter is a little more scrawly and at a few parts the ink is a little smeared]
Thank you for wishing me a good night of sleep, it was actually pretty good. So good, that I overslept and didn't hear any of my alarms...If you were sitting next to me, I just sighed. Getting out of bed after oversleeping is always amazing.
I'm sorry that you couldn't sleep as well, but with having eyes watching you and being in the situation you're in? I think not sleeping well is very understandable. If I could I would send you some of the coffee I have at home, I hate the smell and taste and it's just for visitors.
I actually don't have that much time, I'm in my lunchbreak at the moment, but I'll still try and at least comment something to every aspect. So I apologise if the writing isn't that clean.
But enough of that:
That the layout of the apartment you're in is mirrorring your own apartment would be a fact that's quite concerning. But honestly? I think that's the least weird thing going right now...Whoever this Inky is, or believes to be, they did their research on you, it seems. I'm trying to go chronologically.
1 - At least you know where to find more letters? That makes me believe that you at least really are supposed to get in contact with me. Or maybe others as well? The thought of there being even more universes
2 - I already said something to the bedroom; you are supposed to get rest, but not feel comfortable? I believe 'Inky' wants you to remember that they are responsible for you being there? Or something?
3 - The room full of white lilies is...concerning to say the least. I would have to take a look at something later on, after work, so we are just keeping this room in mind. For now, if my memory is not playing tricks on my, I think you should stay away from there.
4, 5 & 6 - Again, I believe you are supposed to be able to take care of yourself in the basics. You have a first aid kit, which you have to use extremely fast; but you have to go through a fear of yours to get there. With the second bathroom it's the same as the bedroom. Maybe try and describe the symbols?
7 - I don't really have to add something to the living room
8 - That again...is really creepy, Echo. I think you should stay away from the dolls as well for now.
9 - I hope your foot is getting better? You have to be really careful there, basically anything can happen as long as you're there. I think that's the msot dangerous thing, we don't know what to expect. Does that mean it's better to expect the worst?
The thing with the paper is weird. Do you think you can take that out? Maybe keep things that could be useful or appear on a pile or something?
I hope I got every[the rest of the sentence is smeared so much it's unreadable]
I have to get back to work, my boss is already getting mea calling me. Stay safe Echo, take care!
~ Viper
Ps. Ah shit, I just realised I completely forgot the kitchen. I crossed the 6 out, so here it is now:
6 - Again, I think you are supposed to eat as to not starve...But you should not feel comfortable or good while eating the food that is provided; Maybe with time we can find a way for you to get the key? We'll see.
Hey, Viper.
Well, I'm at least glad you slept okay? Even if sleeping through alarms isn't the most pleasant experience in the world. And no worries about the letter being messy, you're fine :)
Yeah, whoever this "Inky" person is, they've clearly done their research on me. Unfortunately. Though, I don't know what the goal of all this would be. Why go to all this trouble to mess with random person number 5,275,928,187?
1 - Agreed. I'm still wondering why the other furniture vanished, though. And in general why so much changed on day 2.
2 - Maybe? Or maybe it's just another way of messing with my head. Lack of sleep can definitely affect the psyche, after all. So, I'm supposed to sleep because I need sleep, but not too much because hell forbid my mental health be halfway decent.
3 - Yeah, probably. I think I'll stop getting close enough to count the lilies. I may keep checking in on how they're doing, though, and how fast they're multiplying. We'll see.
4+5 - Makes sense, unfortunately. Fits the theme so far of "survive but not thrive". As for the symbols and stuff on the paper, I'll transcribe them. I'd say "one minute", but. Well. This is a letter.
Alright. It's: n0#v OH THAT'S NOT FAIR. IT'S CHANGING. THE SYMBOLS CHANGE EVERY TIME I LOOK AWAY. Ugh, this place is going to drive me up so many walls I'm going to end up climbing a skyscraper. Well. Whatever the case, it at least still seems to stay at the same number of characters every time I look away, ten. For whatever it's worth.
7 - Yep, thankfully, living room is very uneventful. So far.
8 - Don't need to tell me twice.
9 - Luckily, yeah. It seems to be healing up okay. The bruises are nasty, but I think I haven't messed anything up long term. I got lucky.
Good idea. I put the mirror and the paper on the coffee table in the living room, they don't seem to have sprung back to the rooms they came from yet.
...You know, it's kind of interesting that the hand mirror was the only clean and pristine thing in the first bathroom, and the paper with the random symbols was the only messy and dirty thing in the second. I'm going to try something real quick.
Nope, reading the paper inside the first bathroom made no difference. Oh well.
Oh right, I should probably put the box with the other stuff that appears. That would be a smart thing to do.
So, while moving the box, I noticed a small word carved into the side of it: "Zephyrus." I recognize the name (and yes, it's a name, I'm about 99% sure,) but I'm going to need some time to make my sleep-deprived brain think hard enough to remember where I heard it. Still, it's interesting.
You take care too, Viper!
Oh, yeah. Kitchen. Right.
Yes, I agree. It all fits into the "mess with Echo's head" theme which is going on for some reason. I'll keep looking for some way I might be able to safely grab that key. Maybe the closets will have something? I don't know.
Hope work goes well for you.

Well Echo, complicated is one way to put it. It really is.
[Again, there is a large dot of ink]
It's a little difficult to start this kind of letter, if I'm being honest.
Do you know, how I sent the letter, that seems to have reached you? I wanted to put it inside of a mailbox, not knowing better. That was before I accidentally sweeped it down my kitchen table. ~It's a little unsettl~
It disappeared after that, to you as it seems.
Okay.
You have been put kidna taken
You woke up in an unknown house, with no way out, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Maybe nowhere describes it even better. There you find stacks of envelopes an paper.
And after reading a message from Inky, (your kidnapper?) you magically make a letter appear basically infront of me.
I don't know you, I don't believe you know me. If you did, the name Viper would have given you enough clues.
Am I really in a different universe? I always believed Well, it could be possible. After these two letters alone, that doesn't seem that impossible.
It seems you really need some help...But I don't know if I'm the right person for that.
Though, I am willing to try.
But for now I'm signing off as well, it's pretty late and I have work in the morning. I hope, despite all, you at least sleep alright.
~ Viper
Viper,
Well. That's definitely weird. The way that finally worked for me sending the first letter (and subsequently the second, since it worked the first time and all) was yelling curses at it out of frustration while throwing it in the air, but that definitely sounds creepier than my experience :/
Yeah, that summary sounds about right. And this "Inky" definitely could be the kidnapper. I don't exactly have any other leads on who the kidnapper might be, anyhow.
"Viper" doesn't ring any bells, so yeah, seems pretty likely we don't know each other then.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate you being willing to help :)
Sleep well, Viper :)
Unfortunately, I didn't sleep as well as I'd hoped. After the night I had, I can confidently say my mind is definitely not any more clear than it was. Probably less. I miss coffee.
Still, I realized that, for all my asking for help and etc, I haven’t actually described what’s going on around here.
Basically, there are eight rooms here, the layout mirroring my own apartment, each with their own thing going on. Plus three closets with the same thing going on. And new things appeared overnight, too, so that’s lovely. I’ll do my best to be organized about describing all this and not go off the rails rambling about something or other.
Office room: This is where the letters and the pen appeared, on a desk with a chair and a lamp. This is also where letters from other people appear, at least I assume. Thankfully, that’s all that’s in this room. Weirdly, though, the new thing in here this morning is that all the other furniture just straight up vanished. There was another table and a couch, but apparently I’m not allowed to have those or something. There aren’t any scratch marks on the wood floor or anything, so I don’t think at least the couch was dragged away anywhere.
Bedroom: There’s a painting or something of eyes on the ceiling, directly above where I sleep. It’s only visible in the dark. No matter what I do, even when they aren’t visible, I can’t shake the feeling that they’re watching anytime I’m in the room. Also it’s always a little too cold, so that’s a fun and lovely thing. Nothing new here, at least.
Other bedroom: Or, in my apartment, it was a bedroom. Now the only thing inside it is some white lilies. (And a closet, more on that later.) There was one flower yesterday, but today there’s two more.
Bathroom 1: Absolutely filthy and crawling with bugs and spiders. Bugs and spiders, naturally, are the banes of my existence. The water never gets hot, and if I wash my hands for too long the water starts getting gross. The medical kit is in here. I can take it out of the room, but when I look away it teleports back in there. Unless I’m using it, then it teleports away once I’m done and I look away. So that may end up getting me an infection someday. The new thing in there is a hand mirror that was actually surprisingly pristine, given what all was around it. Apparently that one I am allowed to take out of the bathroom.
Bathroom 2: So, it LOOKS completely fine and normal. Pristine, even. But like in the bedroom, I constantly feel like I’m being watched. Pretty closely. And I don’t know if it’s anxiety or paranoia or whatever, but I keep thinking I see the shadows moving. The new thing in there is that there was a smudged and dirty paper taped to the mirror with a whole bunch of random letters and symbols. I can’t make sense of it.
Kitchen: All the cabinets are chained up, and the handle and edge of the fridge and freezer are lined with barbed wire. Food spawns out of nowhere on the counter, along with a lukewarm glass of water, but it’s... not good. It’s just. There’s a bowl of fruit here that I’m all allergic to. (Thankfully not fatally or anything, just causes a lot of discomfort, but still.) It seems to spawn at about breakfast time, or whatever passes for time in this void. The other food is dry and bland and leaves a weird aftertaste (lunch) or is just straight up burned to nearly a crisp (dinner). The stovetop and oven are burning hot. There’s a key inside the oven, but it’s literally red-hot. I’m not touching that without something to keep me from maiming my hand.
Living room: The TV is smashed and useless, and the couches are basically rocks. There’s at least some books around, which are... mediocre, so far. Overall, this room is at least pretty tame. Unfortunately, there’s no wall or doorway or anything between here and the dining room, it’s just open. Which makes for an... interesting view.
Dining room: There’s life sized realistic dolls that are having an eternal and looping silent tea party. Or at least, I’ve never once seen them stop or talk, and they always follow the exact same motions in the same pattern while I watch. There’s an empty chair at the table, but when I tried sitting there, they all froze, and their heads turned to stare at me. I got the pretty strong feeling I wasn’t wanted there. When I got up, they resumed the tea party from where they were without acknowledging me again.
The three closets: Each one is filled to the brim with junk. I nearly got crushed the first time I opened one of the closets, and it took me a full minute to pry my leg out from underneath all that. I think I might’ve messed my foot up a little in the process, too. Luckily, the next two I was more prepared for, so I didn’t get caught up in the avalanche either time. This morning, I noticed that inside the door of one of the three (a door that opens outward) is now taped a weird paper with holes cut in it. It’s possible there might be more papers inside the other two closets, but those are sliding doors, so I can’t look for them without looking inside.
Wow. This got long. So much for not rambling.
Anyhow. I'm going to try exploring again, to make sure I haven't missed anything. If I find anything, I'll send another letter.
Hope your day goes well.
—Echo

[What seems to be a first paragraph is harshly blacked out, the ink a bit smeared]
Echo was it, if I remember right? I'm sorry if that's not the case, it's been a few hours since I've read your letter. And, no offense, I didn't really plan to answer at first.
You can call me
Viper. You can call me Viper. Hi, it's nice to meet you.
Or it could be nice to meet you, if I had seen you. Not only the letter, in front of my flat, or really, right in front of my door.
It would be normal for a human being to ignore such a strange letter.
And I did. Didn't even open it. The letter wandered right into the trash can. Until it didn't. When I finally entered my flat, changed my clothes...I found it a second time. On my kitchen table. And I'd really like to know how.
For me, this leaves only three options:
1- You are one of my friends, trying to prank me.
2- You are my idiot of a cousin, even though he neither has a key to my flat nor knows the place where I hid my spare key
3- You are telling the truth. You somehow woke up in a bed that's not yours. And now you sent a letter from there, to me.
I actually don't know which option I like best. Or what is believable
[There's a large black dot of ink on the paper; it seems someone didn't really know what to write]
I guess we'll see.
~ Viper
Viper,
Yeah, Echo is the name I gave. Nice to meet you too :) As much as you can meet someone over letters.
No offense taken. It's (there are some half formed letters that are scribbled out. Echo seems to have had some trouble seeking the proper words) a complicated situation.
That detail about the letter moving from the trash to the kitchen table is interesting. And mildly anxiety-inducing. Okay, a lot anxiety inducing. Not exactly fond of the thought that someone might be watching how I handle the letters. I've already got enough going on with this place. I don't know how I'm going to sleep with those
Anyhow. My word probably isn't exactly worth too much, but I swear this isn't any kind of prank. And I'm about 99.9% sure I'm not related to you, because, well, alternate universes.
(There's some scribbled out attempts at starting the paragraph.) I'm really sorry if I sound pushy or anything by saying this, but would you be willing to help me, please? This place is freaking me out. It's set up like my apartment, but it's
I don't know what words to use. Just. It's bad.
I need to get myself together. I'm going to sign off here and then do that. Hopefully, if I can sleep, I'll have a clearer head in the morning.
Hope you have a nice day/night/something.

(The handwriting on this letter is slightly smudged, but is luckily still perfectly legible.)
Hey there. My name is (crossed out and scribbled over) Echo. Or you can give me any other nickname you like, I don’t mind :)
How do I even start this? Just jumping into saying “I think I was kidnapped and now I’m in some weird hellish escape-room-esque house which seems to be stuck in the middle of the void and there are weird letters appearing out of nowhere” seems wrong somehow.
…I say, as I then start off the letter with that.
Okay. So. To elaborate/explain. I fell asleep in my bed, and woke up in a different bed. When I started to explore, I realized I was in a small apartment, a little like mine. What seems to be the front door is locked, and chained up with a bunch of chains too. Looking out the windows and all around, I can’t see anything but the exterior of the house. And I mean NOTHING. As in, it looks like it’s just empty void all around. Though, it could admittedly be some sort of lighting trick, I guess? Anyhow, I decided not to try climbing out the windows.
Actually, there’s a lot of stuff around. I don’t think I want to describe it all just now. Not until I actually know someone’s getting these. It’s pointless otherwise.
Anyhow. As for “weird letters appearing out of nowhere,” well. Just half an hour ago, a stack of papers and envelopes appeared out of absolutely nowhere on a desk, along with a pen and a pencil, and an envelope addressed to me. The letter inside, from a person named “Inky,” told me that if I write a letter and send it, some “certain people” in other universes might find it, read it, and possibly write something back to me. Maybe even help me get out of here.
Even if the idea that a letter could somehow reach an alternate universe is kind of ridiculous to me, I mean, I guess there probably isn’t any harm in giving it a shot? So, if you get this, I’d really, really appreciate it if you could send something back.
Have a good day/night, if you’re reading this :)
—Echo
PS. How do I even send this? Is there a mailbox somewhere? Do I throw it in the air and say “send?”

Rules and Info
Rules:
Keep explicit sexual content out of the letters.
Echo is not available to date. I may consider other characters if something grows organically, no promises though. I generally prefer plot and friendships over romance.
Any mention of self harm other than things along the lines of skin picking must be kept vague and/or non-descriptive, and I would prefer to avoid mention of it at all. Same with suicide and rape.
You can borrow concepts, ideas, characters, etc from a fandom. However, you must cite the source you’re drawing from, and I would strongly prefer that overly controversial fandoms not be used.
Information:
This is a side blog.
I tag triggers as “#tw [trigger]” and “#[trigger] tw”.
I don’t plan on having everything be dark and gloomy. That said, I don’t shy from dark content at times. Content that is part of my backstories or my plotline includes detailed depictions of mental illness (anxiety, panic attacks, skin picking, potentially more), manipulative behavior, non-descriptive accounts of physical abuse, violence, blood, injuries, death, and emotional/physical torment.
Upon request, I’ll provide summaries of what happened in triggering or uncomfortable letters with the disturbing content trimmed so that you can still enjoy the stories.
I have a lot of characters planned. Some will have more prevalence in the plot than others.
For the moment, I am fairly active and will probably respond shortly to letters or DMs, unless I’m in the middle of something. You are not expected or required to match my activity level.
I will occasionally be using colored text in my letters, but will provide a plain text version under a cut or in reblogs when this happens. If someone I’m directly replying to (ask, reblog, etc) has something that needs to have an image ID or needs to be put into plain text, I’ll do that before opening into the letter itself. If there’s anything else I can do for additional accessibility, please feel free to let me know.
Having a plotline of your own is encouraged but not required.
Direct messages can be used to have a conversation directly with certain characters at certain times, and may even occasionally be used to write brief scenes in a more traditional RP format. Or they just can be used to speak one on one out of character.

About
(Italicized text inside parentheses) is the narrator. ([Text with parentheses and brackets around it are out of character,]) unless the entire post is out of character. Colored, bolded, or otherwise stylized text is normal text associated with one or more particular characters. Text with none of these characteristics are normal text written by a character unless an entire post is out of character.
You can submit a letter through my ask box, through reblogging a letter you want to respond to, or in a separate post (as long as I can know about/find said separate post.) Your letter can be as short or long as you wish, within reason.
This is a mixture of an ask blog, a roleplay blog, and a collaborative writing project. I have a lot of things developed already. However, you can also make up almost anything you want, and develop your own plotlines and characters for me (and others) to interact with and help along. That’s part of why these letters all go to alternate universes; you can make your own universe anything you want :)
You can also make up your own lore, shaping this multiverse at large and developing it along with me and everyone else.
