Clarification on Eclipsed Sounds Voice Database Licenses With Regards to Voice-Changing Algorithms
Thank you for your ongoing support of Eclipsed Sounds voice databases. Due to increased inquiries over the last few weeks, we wanted to re-clarify the license agreement for Eclipsed Sounds Synthesizer V Studio voice databases with regards to voice changing algorithms.
Voice conversion algorithms may be used to change the output of Eclipsed Sounds vocals. However, this is only allowed when the voices you are converting to are in the following categories:
Your own voice
Voice samples or voice conversion databases with explicit permission for conversion
A licensed voice conversion database
You may only use audio from Eclipsed Sounds voices of which you are a licensed user in this way.
You may not use the output of Eclipsed Sounds vocals as part of creating voice changing models. Meaning, we prohibit any voice conversion usage that converts audio "to" the sound of our voices, even if combined with other voices. This does not include Voice-to-MIDI conversion.
When using voice conversion algorithms with Eclipsed Sounds voices, our voice databases as well as the voice used in the conversion should be credited explicitly in some manner on social media or website-based releases outside of streaming services to avoid misleading conversions.
Eclipsed Sounds voices or audio released by Eclipsed Sounds also may not be used in the creation of other vocal synthesizers, such as text-to-speech vocals. Existing misuse before this notice was released will not be actively pursued unless re-uploaded after this release. Please consider removing instances of misuse if this applies to you. We want to keep ethical usage completely open for users, so please note that all algorithms not designed to mimic the timbre or pitch of other voices - including effects like vocoders, filters, etc., and editing software like Melodyne and VocalShifter - are still completely acceptable based on our license and are not prohibited in this message.
Please understand that these clarifications are to prevent misuse and impersonation, as well as to encourage ethical usage of voice changers. Please help us ensure an ethical future in vocal synthesis, as well as the protection of our voice providers’ vocals, by collaborating with us in ensuring compliance with these terms.
Thank you for your support and understanding in this matter.

Hey, would there be any interest in adding more vocal modes for Solaria?
Thank you for your question! At this point, we think SOLARIA's vocal mode lineup works well for her voice and encompasses a good range of expression, and don't think that any additional vocal modes we could design would make a meaningful difference for our users.

I was reading about Saros license and I saw that "if the Lite version is being used, the SVD must be attributed as “SAROS Lite”. does this mean that there's going to be a lite version for others?
Thank you for your question! We intend for SAROS to have a Lite version just like ASTERIAN and SOLARIA do, and we will likely release it later next year (2024) after the completion of our next project.

Hello! I wanted to know if there's any plans in the works for a high soprano voicebank?
I keep thinking how lovely opera would sound on SynthV.
Currently we do not have plans for a high soprano nor opera library, but we are always open to feedback and suggestions and will keep this in mind. We encourage people to leave suggestions in our contact form with their ideas for collaborations and products they'd like to see!

I created the key art for ASTERIAN! Eclipsed Sounds did a fantastic job with his concept, and Eric Hollaway’s incredible voice shines on Synthesizer V. You can listen to his demo here!

Hi! Will ASTERIAN be also available on the dreamtonics store like SOLARIA is?
My apologies for the long wait on this question during our platform hiatus! While we can't be for sure - we are hoping to arrange ASTERIAN's distribution on the Dreamtonics international store & Taobao store before the release of SAROS. Right now, they are quite busy working on the development of Synthesizer V Studio's 1.9.0 update, so we can't be sure on the timeframe.

A few questions I have about ASTERIAN! I'm looking forward to him! He looks and sounds amazing!
How difficult was it to choose his name and what was the reason for choosing it?
What can you tell us about his design concept and how it came to be today?
Are you able to speak on the choosing of Eric Hollaway as his voicer?
Thank you for your enthusiasm about ASTERIAN, and my apologies for our hiatus from this platform!
ASTERIAN's name choice was quite difficult - we changed it many times over development to try to find a sound that fit! I discussed it more in our response to a previous ask from our hiatus backlog.
As for his design - ASTERIAN went through a few concepts, but we settled on this look fairly quickly! The basic idea was the same as SOLARIA - to create a unique look that (ignoring the cape) has a more modern silhouette but blends in more fantasy aspects as well. While I can't share the early concept art as it was done as an internal paint-over from a non-stock photograph, I can describe the process a bit. His hairstyle was decided immediately to be twists as that is also the signature look of his voice provider, but we gave him long hair to push the design into fantasy a bit more and add another aspect that was the opposite of SOLARIA. We chose to keep the gold alongside his blue color scheme to show that our vocals are equals (rather than "downgrading" the rarity of metal), as well as to warm his overall color scheme to match his voice. A silver metal also washes out his color scheme and makes him far less interesting, so we settled on gold as our standard. Other design aspects we discussed were similar to the hair decision, choosing to do the opposite of what is done in SOLARIA's design. For instance, SOLARIA's metalwork lays on top of her design & is more decorative while ASTERIAN's functions more as the "bones" of his clothing, and the opposite is true of their armor pieces, with SOLARIA's appearing more functional in nature and ASTERIAN's being more decorative & jewelry adjacent.
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for with regard to our voice selection process - but we knew that Eric Hollaway was perfect after the first time hearing him sing! We scouted across multiple different social media and casting platforms for ASTERIAN's voice, a process that we have continued for projects after him, and when we found Eric we were immediately charmed. We firmly believed that a bass vocal was necessary for this project, as one had not been created before as a commercial synthesized vocal to our knowledge. With the goal of creating voices to fill the gaps in available voices, it was clear that Eric would be the right choice. We are incredibly pleased with how well his unique tone carried into ASTERIAN! It may be interesting to note that SAROS was also in the scouting stages at the same time as ASTERIAN had been! Due to scheduling conflicts, SAROS' voice provider was not able to begin recording until the beginning of this year.

Note
will Asterian be getting lite version like Solaria did?
ASTERIAN will be getting a Lite version like SOLARIA did, after his original song contest is launched! While we had to delay this contest when our schedule was re-arranged to accommodate SAROS' development and other preparations for our appearance at the NAMM Show and continuing development afterwards, ASTERIAN's original song contest should be happening soon. We are hoping to minimize our overlap with the contest currently being run by our colleagues at AUDIOLOGIE, so please expect it to begin closer to the end of their contest.
