Their interactions become 10x funnier when you realize that the way professional writers/directors show 2 characters have sexual tension is having their faces close and them breathing on each other.
Skk be like: I hate him!
And then breathe into each other's mouth.

I really like that Teru stays in front of Akane when the origami exploded, visibly startled but not leaping away from danger, because Akane is behind him and he needs a shield.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He seems to use himself as a shield or bait a lot
Tumblr media
So Teru must get hurt so much, that he frankly does not care anymore. Just look at his reaction to a burn that is still sizzling.
Tumblr media
All he think about is what exploded and the purpose of it, he isn’t really looking or caring about the injury itself.
And Akane, even while knowing how dangerous and powerful he is, treat Teru like a normal person.
Tumblr media
The way Teru look at his hand after Akane orders him to take care of the burn is different from when he first looked at it.
It forces him to focus on something he never considered a problem, it makes him experience normalcy while simultaneously highlighting how he isn’t normal.

im going insane this terukane scene is almost as significant as the whole ch 79 💥💥
teru was raised the same way as people often teach babies to swim aka by just throwing them into water and if they want to live they'll surface eventually. he's been covered in bandages since early childhood and it's likely that most of them was applied by him and in a hurry because nobody really cared. there was no time for coddling cuz so is the duty of an exorcist and he had to get used to it
but in ch103 he just burned his palm a little ('a little' from his point of view) and akane immediately tells him to go to the INFIRMARY teru was too stunned to speak
moreover it's akane who tells him this - he's the last person teru would expect to hear that from
also why WHY ARE THE FLOWERS EMPHASIZED HERE. WHAT WAS THE REASON

SOUKOKU SEASON 5 ANALYSIS
"Dazai never directly says what he wants. He always gets someone else to say it for him." -Kunikida
Very rarely do we ever see Dazai express genuineness to someone he cares about, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Chuuya. The only time Dazai is genuine with Chuuya (excludding post corruption) was when he postponed the end of the world in order to know if Chuuya wanted to know if he was human or not. So, when Dazai learns about Chuuya's vampirism, it's not out of character for Dazai to show him genuine feelings, since Chuuya wouldn't be conscious.
Except... He knew Chuuya was never a vampire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what do these scenes mean?
The genuineness of Dszai's speeches aren't tactically necessary, because he didn't HAVE to act like he cared just to convince Fyodor. Fyodor would have been as convinced if Dazai was also pretendung to see Chuuya as a tool. (Infact, Fyodor might have been more convinced that Dazai was protecting his partner by PRETENDING not to care).
But none of these speeches were for Fyodor. These speeches were too geniune.
Dazai didn't need to have actual flashbacks on their youth just to convince Fyodor. He didn't even have to mention that he and Chuuya, at times, bonded. These lines were unnecessary for their escape.
And then comes the biggest kicker. "Come back to me."
. . .
It's been established that Dazai didn't need to say these things in order for their plan to go well. It also wouldn't make sense that Dazai was saying these things in order to tease Chuuya (He literally reminisced on flashbacks, which Chuuya couldn't know about). The only other option is that he was being sincere.
The issue is, that Dazai never directly says what he wants. "Anything I want gets lost in the end." (Paraphrase)
But based on his actions and speeches, it seems like what Dazai is saying, is that he misses Chuuya.
The line "come back to me" no longer means "come to your senses", but "be apart of my life again."
The sad look he directs at the cieling when thinking about their youth no longer means that he's upset that Chuuya will die, but that he misses what they had.
Other lines like:
"We used to do this all the time." (Helicopter scene) Dazai once more looking back on their past.
"I've spent the past 7 years thinking of ways to kill Chuuya." (He says to Sigma) This line in particular is peculiar because Dazai figured out his weakness ages ago (poison). This just proves that he thinks about Chuuya.
Everything he says is geniune, yes, but has a second meaning to it aswell. Which, again, I highly believe is him saying that he misses Chuuya.
So what is Chuuya's reaction to this? Well, nothing. He treats Dazai the exact same way. Which completely makes sense.
He may be able to figure out Dazai's motives. But when it comes to what Dazai thinks about Chuuya, Chuuya couldn't be more oblivious. This is seen in the 15 arc, where Dazai was manipulating Chuuya to be his dog in the Port Mafia. Later in the dungeon scene when they're 22, Chuuya fell right into Dazai's manipulative trap.
Chuuya's great at picking up ques from Dazai when it comes to fighting an enemy. When Dazai's attention is directed at him, however, he's just as easy to misinterpret Dazai's intentions.

Asagiri is a very thoughtful writer. To have Dazai express this kind of behavior as loving then have him behave said way towards CHUUYA... Its hard to argue that Dazai doesn't have a crush on him, and its IMPOSSIBLE to argue that Dazai isn't obsessed over Chuuya.
Bringing this back cause wtf is this supposed to imply Asagiri??? Why is this a canon thing that happens regularly Asagiri? Please. I'm going insane...

If you're considering when Dazai noticed Chuuya wasn't a vampire, keep in mind that if Chuuya were a vampire, he wouldn't have killed the guards in Meursault. He would have turned them into more vampires.
Tumblr media
Also, if you think that it cheapens the scene in which Dazai drowns Fyodor and Chuuya for Dazai to have known Chuuya was human: it doesn't. Regardless of whether Dazai knew Chuuya would survive (he did; see his explanation of how he would kill Chuuya in Fifteen, the light novel, and further how he approached Verlaine in Storm Bringer):
Imagine how fucking miserable it must have been to do that to someone he loves and trusts. Imagine how difficult for Dazai to lean into and trust Chuuya to be okay, not only after Dazai drowned him, but in such close proximity to Fyodor, whose ability is touch-based. Imagine Dazai recalling that when he was 16, his botched timing meant that Chuuya was tortured. Imagine Dazai reminding himself that Chuuya suffered then because Dazai didn't trust him, didn't let him in on what he was doing, thought only he could pull the strings up until he was too late— and yet Chuuya remained okay anyway. Imagine Dazai considering how time and time again he's received Chuuya's unadulterated trust and choosing to reciprocate with unequivocal faith. Imagine Dazai being unable to express any of this to Chuuya typically, except for in moments when the demands of the circumstances and Chuuya's inability to respond together loosen his inhibitions and his tongue.
Tumblr media
Further, usually when Dazai's batshit machinations are exposed, his eyes flatten, his voice slickens into condescension, and he palpably slips into a version of himself that even unnerved Mori. But, in Twilight Goodbye/ep 61, Dazai's eyes were honeyed and light, his voice playful, and his mannerisms bright and animated. Those were not his typical machinations, because rather than attempt to control the variables, which he admitted he couldn't, he responded to what happened as it unfolded, and trusted those he loved to do the same.
He trusted Chuuya, Chuuya trusted him. Because of that, everything was okay. It's not cheap that Chuuya was never a vampire, nor would it be cheap if Dazai knew as soon as Chuuya tore through Meursault that he wasn't really a vampire. Angst is not the source of Bungou Stray Dogs' intensity; hope, faith, and love are, and they're just as heady.
