“Really?” Edea holds the charm her master had handed her at arms length, examining it carefully. A smile breaks across her face. “You don’t really believe that, do you Master? It’s just… some old wives tale, right?” It sounded oddly romantic, but ships were few and far between in Eternia, and the idea of anyone from there using these – thalassa, right? – shells as lucky charms seemed almost silly.

“I know that, but what else are we supposed to do, huh?” Her voice is almost shrill. There’s nothing to change – nothing they do seems to make a difference. “Agnès can only awaken so many crystals… we can only travel through so many Holy Pillars… aren’t you tired of it?” She wouldn’t admit it out loud, but Edea was becoming jaded with each beam of light they passed into, each crystal they awoke. She was tired of all of it, and if she had to sit here and wait for another option to show itself, then so be it!

This time? … Ah. “Ringabel…” Ise-no-kami feels heavy in her grasp, all of the world sitting on her shoulders. She’s not one to dwell on those negative thoughts, the ones that bubble just under the surface, simmering, but…

“Alright,” she concedes. There’s no stopping him, after all – he’d promised long ago that he’d keep her safe ( even if this time it was just from some harmless monsters… ), and she couldn’t keep him from keeping a promise.
