hello. coming off pregabalin and it’s kicking my entire ass <3

still somehow managed to finish this portrait for my partners campaign. he is fish.

wanted to open comms back up asap, but i figure i’ll still need a little bit to kick off this withdrawal for good. i’ll do my best to keep making art in the meantime both to not lose practice and keep this blog somewhat alive

what specifically about adoptables are u struggling with? /gen

idk i mean, i guess like, the logistics of it? what i understand is basically you design a character and then sell it. apart from the obvious (which would be the design per se and rights of use) what is it materially that the customer gets? just an illustration of the design? sketches? a character reference sheet? all of the above? or does that just depend on each artist

also pricing, although admittedly that is something that generally confuses and disorients me to no end. i’m just not good at conceptualizing prices or figuring out what is “fair”, i guess.

speaking of not being able to handle a bunch of commissions. could anybody explain the concept of adoptables to me? it’s one of those things i’ve had explained to me many times but never quite got. though for what little i understand, it sounds like a kind of thing i could work with. if there’s one thing i love to do it’s character design after all

HELLO i live! this year has really been full of events. and happenstances. but i come out victorious (and very very tired)

i’m going to be updating my ko-fi soon so it doesnt look so barren, as well as posting some new art on here. not sure i can handle a whole new load of commissions right now but i am going to be opening one, maybe two slots in the coming days as my quest to afford meds, and food, and perhaps even some little treats is never ending. 

for now take a peek at probably my fav piece from the recent commissions.

hey all! 🤪! fiiiinally i have my new computer, and monitor to go with it, which took. so long. for no good reason. but anyway! all that’s left is to finish setting it up, install everything i need, and then i can keep working on the comms. i’ve been pretty damn sick these last few days and still recovering (though i do feel loads better today) so i’m gonna be getting back to work at a slowish but steady pace.

so my computer decided to just up and die last week. ain’t that fun! my dad and i spent the last few days scrambling to find a way to fix it, but apparently it’s most likely a case of terminal over-a-decade-old-computer-itis. fortunately my parents are able to help me replace it soon, and a friend is letting me borrow his old notebook to get back to the comms if i can’t get the new one soon enough. so if luck permit it i should be able to get at least most of them done by next week (<-begging to the universe and all it’s forces to please let me work)

Do you like the Ravenloft setting but feel like the 5e system doesnt do horror very well? I agree, hows your wednesdays? well over -> here <- you can join my more old school style campaign using the low magic swashbuckling Dragonbane ruleset (also a good way to learn the system if youre interested in OSR stuff, its very simple!)

About the adventure

Steel clashes on the streets under night skies and the mists bear sole witness to dark deeds. Darkon is a kingdom of lies and secrets, kept under the fist of the wizard king Azalin— but even his control is not absolute, and for those of daring disposition there are great rewards for the taking. This is a player-driven game of swashbuckling adventure and mystery set against a gothic horror background, based on older iterations of the Ravenloft setting with a classic sword and sorcery ambience using the Dragonbane rules.
