Since I last talked I became a decent Marvel fan and part of the reason I’m coming back is because I was reminded of a Edmund in a few people.

Maybe because Edmund is a ripe emerald green in my head but in the mannerisms the two carry themselves and the arc they walk on, feels a complete arc of Edmund.

do you ever think about how edmund is totally the type of person who bites his nails and uses ridiculous things as bookmarks bc he’s reading so many things all at once and drinks his tea without sugar and hates buttoning his coat and tucking his shirt in his pants and always has his sleeves rolled up and totally stress-eats a fuckton and never gets fat and i just love edmund pevensie and all the little things that come with him

Things we forget about Voyage of the Dawn Treader- book
-Caspian wasn’t allowed to go to the beach bordering Aslan’s country- he had to sail home with his crew.
-that golden lion head mounted on the cabin on the Dawn Treader? Yeah, it somehow morphed into Aslan’s face and spoke to Caspian when he was being… Not so kind or mature.
-Caspian was quite upset and shaken when Aslan was upset with him. Even though Aslan was only “a bit stern at first”, Caspian was beside himself
-the water leading to Aslan’s country is actually strengthening and makes it so you can see in the brighter sunlight and aren’t hungry anymore (the soundtrack has a track called “sweet water” which kind of pays homage to that)
-Trumpkin was Regent while Caspian was away and Caspian wanted to leave Narnia in his rule
-The Magician is actually a retired (punished) star (who is actually quite fond of Aslan)
-Lucy grows astronomically in character in this story (faith in Aslan, kindness to Eustace, courage and ability in battle)
-As does Eustace (we see this in the movie, but even more in the book. He brings food to the ship and gives rides as a dragon, and is the first to attack the sea monster in a surge of courage)
-Reepicheep gets extremely offended when anyone refers to Lucy as anything other than a queen
-Eustace had relapses into his old, annoying self (but, as Lewis puts it, “the cure had begun”)
-Aslan appears to the children at the end as a lamb momentarily
-there are Sea Peoples near the End of the World that Lucy saw- and she sees a shepherdess sea girl who she kind of befriends with a passing glance
-The only reason Edmund and Caspian stop fighting each other, and Lucy stops insulting them, is that they all catch sight of Aslan, and all of their terrible thoughts just dissipate
-Lucy is tempted by not only the beautifying spell, but also by one which allows her to see what her friends really think of her- and in the movie, it is the latter that she actually goes through with
-There is no Mist- although I can see why the idea of the Mist was added. VOTDT is very much a series of small adventures rather than one big one- unless, of course, you count the journey to Aslan’s Country as the main voyage (as I do). There are many mini adventures- the slave market, the golden lake, the Magician’s house, etc- which all get resolved in about a chapter, and the Mist was probably added to tie things together for theatrical purposes.
-Lucy sees Aslan at the Magician’s house. It’s such a beautiful scene- if I could change one thing about the Voyage movie, it would be to add in this scene
