Tell a girl she’s pretty.
Compliments are rare during the days of mass-social-media-breaking-news. There are compliments in the stories but something “amazing” had to happen for that compliment to be spoken.
It is so stressful.
I’m not over here begging to be complimented. It’s just a nice thing to do, like giving a wave to the car who let you out of a busy intersection or receiving a smile while walking.
It’s personal. Personally, its heart-warming.
I love human interactions, listening to people speak, and reading a persons body language.
Now don’t get on a social media feed and tell a girl how pretty she is Do it in person. Even if she’s in a relationship. Of course there is a right way and wrong way to do this. It all really develops from how you present yourself. But if you see a girl and thinks she is gorgeous it doesn’t hurt to share the compliment. What’s the difference in saying I like your shoes or I like your hair?
The answer will be “thank you”.

"Every two years the American politics industry fills the airwaves with the most virulent, scurrilous, wall-to-wall character assassination of nearly every political practitioner in the country - and then declares itself puzzled that America has lost trust in its politicians." .. (Charles Krauthammer)

Relationships can be icky. The number one thing that sucks about a relationship is that there is no standard of comparison. It is an imperfect science, an art. In my case it is a drama within. I have always been modest about my abilities and the first to point out my flaws. I am easy going, fun to be around and don't mind taking the heat when confrontations are necessary. It takes me a while to warm up to strangers, but I have overcome my awkwardness. I have become more of a go-getter and don't hesitate to show off my passions. These are big improvements and the ones who understand are my close friends and family. They accepted my flaws and supported my many awkward moments of change. They haven't seen my true flaws. I will show them my ambitions and my failures, but I don't show them how I failed. I have failed because it is hard for me to be vulnerable. I don't take risks that potentially address my flaws. I take risks that potentially address my strong features. My pride is strong just like my father. Stubbornness. A noun that is difficult to treat. Most know this trait about me but few see how detrimental it is to my aspirations. I am a very talented and smart individual. I work well with others. Naturally take the lead in projects, but I am also capable of following instructions. Efficiency and effectiveness are a necessity when I develop missions and goals. Constructive criticism is important for improvement. Except when that criticism criticizes a flaw. A flaw you are aware is hindering your aspirations. A flaw that has plagued you with rejections. A flaw that scares you. I am a 25 year old with an undergraduate degree I believe to be innovative, but lack opportunities to earn a living. I see myself as an entrepreneur but do not want to take financial risks because I am currently placing myself in debt from student loans to acquire a masters degree. This masters degree like my undergraduate does not have a long list of job opportunities. I have been dating my boyfriend for 4+ years. Most everyone I know now is either married or engaged. Only a few have been together longer than we have. We've talked about marriage and know that we both would like to marry each other. We currently live together. I always believed we were the "best" couple because we didn't rush, we held it together after 2+ years of long distance and we continue to enjoy each other's company with few arguments or fights. He won't propose because I don't have a job.

Public Health
Take a second to think about what you consider to be Public Health. I am inspired by the people around me who work against odds to provide a healthier environment for EVERYONE! There is Dana Harmon who just rode a stationary bike for 60+ miles to raise money for kids who might not have the opportunity to play organized team sports • There are nurses who work there ass off to help patients through tough times• My dad who has to painstakingly compound medicine for his hospital because of drug shortages• Politicians who take a hit when they push policies that they strongly believe will assist with creating health equity• The global effort to eradicate malaria to help foreign nations prosper • Churches and food banks that help assure people have a meal to eat and do not go hungry • Our National, State and Community Parks • the social networks like newspapers, blogs, Facebook that help increase awareness of available aide like during the snow storms earlier this year• Teachers who strive to teach kids how to learn Public Health is for EVERYONE to PRACTICE! Whether it's saying "hey" to someone to brighten their day or to step forward as an innovator to show people how miracles are a possibility or a leader who takes a risk because they believe the outcome will be greater than the dislike people portray initially. In honor of National Public Health Week I would love for you to comment below and tell me what you consider to be Public Health and Share/ tag this post with others you believe to be part of the Public Health Community.

Crow pose. Working on balance and pushing up through my arms to lift and hold my body up. Will be practicing this and handstands for the next 30 days. Triceps are dead after all the practice today

I have a two week trip coming up and I've been working on ways to bring just a carry-on. Leading up to this trip with knowing everyone else is aiming for just a carry-on has been stressful. I've never been this far from home for 13 days and not solidly packed a large duffle. Did I mention we are going over seas? This is my first trip to Europe and I am very lucky to be going with a family who knows very well how to travel internationally. It never occurred to me how much work goes into planning for these sort of trips! I've been panicking over how to pack and make sure all my school stuff is in order while so many other planning stages were underway...Hotel booking, train booking, hiring a car, booking tours...I'm glad to slowly learn about the planning tips because if people were fully depending on me for this trip I would go nuts! Any who, I need not to have worried so much. Once I finally had a wardrobe laid out I selected the articles of clothing most versatile, narrowing down the pile to: 4 shirts, 3 bottoms, 2 shoes, 1 scarf, and my jacket. On the plane I plan to wear 2 sweaters, a skirt and my jacket. This allows me to fit everything from the first two pictures into one North Face book bag (as seen in the last picture). So excited I was able to pack so compactly! Tips: 1. When packing shoes stuff your socks and panties into them. 2. Roll up shirts and pants. This saves space. It also makes it easier to find spaces between your rolled clothes where you can fit small items like leggings, extra socks, undershirts. 3 . Find a balance between your bulky clothes and most comfortable clothes to wear on travel days. Lastly I am traveling with my book bag stored inside a carry-on sized roller board. This allows me to have the option of two bags if I need the room to bring back goodies!

I finished designing my toiletry bag today! I was trying to keep the design simple, but couldn't decide if it needed anything extra after painting the toilet and tree. So I asked Rich last night for his opinion. Being the Auburn fan he is, his suggestion was adding a roll of toilet paper. So thats what I did and I love the outcome so much I wanted to brag a little!
