Gender?
I know I don't post on here a lot anymore, but I really need help with something from my fellow nonbinary/xenogender people.
For the past few years I've been trying to figure out what in the world my "gender" is, because it sure as hell ain't female or male. I know I'm probably somewhere in either the nonbinary or xenogender umbrellas, that's for sure, but still... it'd be nice to figure out something more specific than that finally.
I feel somewhat feminine sometimes, but not actually female if that makes sense? Just hearing someone call me "female" or "woman" or any other girl-coded gender words makes me wanna cringe to be honest, and I'm getting less and less comfy with she/her pronouns, but at the same time they/them also feels uncomfy. I won't even bother with the male gender, because that's a definite nope.
It almost feels like I'm sometimes just adapting to the genders around me and going with that? I went with calling myself nonbinary for a good while right when I learned some of my other friends were nonbinary, considered using genderfluid for a bit after hanging around a few genderfluid people, and now after learning a friend considers herself catgender (not actually a cat, btw! Just means she feels strongly connected to them and acts like a cat sometimes) I find myself considering the label as well. That's what brought me here, actually-- I wanna find a label that doesn't make me feel like I just stole it from my friends.
If you have any insight, please help me!

really though the whole "cringy mary sue oc" thing really is attacking an important outlet for lots of kids... All those tropes have a place in it:
Tragic backstories and lgbt+ identities are clearly signs that those are things that the kids creating the ocs live with. Most of those kids struggle with abuse or are lgbt+, and either way need a character to relate to
Self-inserts who hang out with their favorite character or variations on their favorite character? yeah chances are that kid feels pretty alone and needs to feel like someone who they love and look up to respects them back. see the abuse thing again
"Flawless personality" when you feel like everybody hates you you start to feel like a shit person. so having an oc like you who is also flawless is a place to embrace the things you like about yourself and get more self-confidence. I don't know, this one's hard to explain. See the next one
"Overpowered or underpowered" yeah, an OP oc is usually because the kid feelspowerless and helpless and nobody wants that. a relatable oc or self-insert who has lots of power? instant self-confidence boost. If my oc who's like me can have power, so can I. With underpowered characters that's just an outlet of that same frustration
Anyway yeah cringe culture is dead. All this applies to adults too, not just kids! you're never to old to make a fun character!
Plus not to mention that all this stuff specifically preys on neurodivergent kids.
If you can think of any other tropes like this feel free to add on

I really needed to see this. Thank you.

Selfie in my dressing gown??? A picture I took for my boyfriend. We’re both aromantic somewhat, and what we’ve got works really well.
We interpret “I love you” to mean “I have loving intentions towards you”. It was very freeing for me to realise I was aro, and to find someone else who is the same. Because relationships in the past I’ve always had this ‘thing’ hanging over me? That there’s something I 'should’ have, but don’t. That I couldn’t say I 'loved’ someone or enact loving behaviours less they assume I had this magical feeling that I somehow couldn’t get. I felt like a relationship was fundamentally flawed unless I could somehow feel this thing? And I had partners who felt that we shouldn’t be together if I couldn’t feel it.
I do still feel broken sometimes. I hear of other couples and this engulfing and seemingly baseless passion for each other?? And I’m sort of envious. But what I really wanted from a relationship was cuddles and affection, having someone to be close to and emotionally open with. Without that fear of failing to love falling on my head. Or having the other person love me in a way I couldn’t return. And now I’ve got it and it’s wonderful.
So I sort of hope this reaches another aro person who does want a relationship? Those who feel like they have no right to desire such a thing without romantic attraction. Those who step aside when they are getting close to someone because their friend “fancies them”. Those who are sick or scared of having to explain that they don’t really feel that way, and worry it’ll scare people off from wanting to get to know them because they are concerned they’ll never have what they really want.
I hope you know there are chances out there for love. Not necessarily the conventional, romantic kind. But you can have a situation where loving intentions and actions are shared. In a way that works for you.

Scientists invented fabric that makes electricity from motion and sunlight. To create the fabric, researchers at Georgia Tech wove together solar cell fibers with materials that generate power from movement. It could be used in “tents, curtains, or wearable garments,” meaning we’d virtually never be without power. Source

one of the hardest things to learn as a depressed former Gifted Kid™ is that half-assed is better than nothing. take the 50%, 40%, even 20% job. scrubbing your face is better than not taking a shower at all. picking up your clothes is better than never cleaning. nibbling on some bread is better than starving.
DO THINGS HALFWAY. NOW YOU’RE 100% BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE BEFORE.
