Inconsistencies
My MC is from a futuristic country where everything is controled via computers. When he goes to the rural country, he doesn't even know how to unlock doors!
Oh, also he has a bad boy past, so he knows how to lockpick.
HOW WOULD HE KNOW HOW TO LOCK PICK WHEN HIS HOME COUNTRY DOESN"T USE KEYS???

Yes, brain, I absolutely need to clean and reorganize my desk on day 3 of nanowrimo. Oh, and you're right: I don't really like this lamp. Maybe I can search my entire home for one to switch it with. Hang up some art? Have to have that inspiration...

looking for writeblrs for tag games
Hey, writers! It's been more than a minute since I've been active here, and I know not everyone's posting the way they used to.
I'm starting to get tagged in a game or two, but I haven't played because I don't know who to tag! Please do hit me up with a reblog, reply, DM or anything if I can add you to my writeblr games taglist ^^

All books already exist. Authors have to astral travel to the book dimension and capture one with a butterfly net made of pure light.
Why is writing a book so hard? Wrong answers only

I'm translating my outline into scenes in Novelpad. I'm not sure if this is helpful or just a way for me to put off actually writing :-p (at the very least I do really like looking at it)

part of me really wants to write crazy intersecting time travel plotlines, but then I see 5D multiverse chess and am scared
my nephew, who is like 11 or 12, is playing “5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel”, which is exactly what it says on the tin, and I have never been more terrified of the youth of today

Hi it's Minie (@serendipminiewrites), this is my main :)
I missed STS because I was so busy, but I'd love to ask you a question anyways~
Who is your favourite side character in one of your WIPs and why?
(Have a really good day)
I don't know what STS is, but thank you for the ask!
My favorite side character in my wip might have to be Tobias. He is a curious dork and very empathetic.
Here's Tobias trying to be sneaky:
"Hey, hey," Tobias catches him on the way back inside after Friday's check-in call. His stage whisper doubtlessly audible through the open door. "I found something you have to see." "Yeah?" Alexander prompts, humoring the chaotic hush-hush energy so at odds with the black and white ringer tee and cargo pants. The whole ensemble covered in a fine sheen of dust from sand and gravel. Tobias had pulled the same three burly individuals he had originally picked to patch walls for filling pot holes today, but he must also be fairly involved. "There's a big cable coming out the back the building. Maybe the previous owner was stealing power on the down low," Tobias suggests with a conspiratorial glint in his brown eyes.

chosen one not as in the one the prophecy foretold but as in lamb to the slaughter. as in the only person both brave and foolish enough to do it. chosen one as in sculpted, molded to be the perfect sacrifice to something expertly, divinely crafted to annihilate you wholly and surely. chosen one as in taken away. chosen one as in death sentence. chosen one as in goodbye

100% be kind to people, but I dislike this reasoning for it.
The idea that you should be kind because you don't know everything in someone's life implies that if you were able to know everything, there are situations where you shouldn't be kind.
It also kinda excuses asshole behavior. Like yes that person is being difficult, but you should still be kind to them because they probably have a lot going on.
Nah dude, I should be kind because they're human. Because they're alive.

There's a great line from the Overly Sarcastic Productions video about doomed heros:
"We can always choose to be kind and that will always matter"
It's so hard to be kind. It's one of the values I treasure most in anyone, and especially try hard for myself. It sometimes feels like I'm being naïve and I'm sure other people think so too, but I know who I am and what I'm doing, I know it seems I'm being dumb. But I'm not, I'm being kind and I refuse to be any other way. I going to do so many bad things, there's no other way to be human, but I'm going to wash the blood from my hands and start over. And over. And over. As long as it takes, I'm not giving up. I'm going to make this world better for at least someone. If its just a person who's dropped change and I picked it up for them, so be it.
