The thing I like about Kabru is that he has Main Character Energy leaking from every pore. He was born with unusual eyes. He's the last survivor of a village destroyed by an out-of-control dungeon. He was taught to be an extremely effective manslayer by his hot adoptive elf mom. He can read people like a book. He picks up women effortlessly.

But in the dungeon he's completely out of his depth and all his Sherlock abilities are completely useless against Laios, the Most Autistic Man Alive and the real main character.

Webcomic page redraw, for fun. I was awestruck by how impactful it is, and I decided to somewhat redraw it in my style, sorta. More like added stuff I use, like motion blur and a 3D effect, to really feel it's moving, and the bots fill up the screen. It was fun.

I was wondering if I should draw it in Saitama's manga suit, but ultimately decided to leave that up to Murata. This is a wc redraw after all, so I made sure to stick true to form, including the webcomic canon that Saitama didn't get his outfit from a tailor friend, but rather just on an online party catalogue. The tailored hero outfit is strictly manga/anime canon. I tried my best drawing Blue's suit lmao, it's really difficult to dissect the finer details of ONE's rough style.

I already missed out on this trend, but I still wanna take on the challenge, using one punch man characters. I was planning maybe 1 character a month to complete the wheel, but I need help on suggestions on which character is on which section!

Augh, ok I wasn't certain if I could still draw some opm and honestly I was a lil curious how they would look like after what, a year, so some Genos for practice. Intriguing that Murata decided to draw him with sleeves one day, it's like seeing a pink dolphin. I'm honestly just doing whatever.

I was reorganizing my fails when I randomly decided to retouch an oc. I drew the 2nd one around 2022 and it looked realistic to me then, didn't even know there parts I could improve on until I put my hands on it again. Wow. I just felt a lil proud of myself to see all the better changes as result of applying stuff I newly learned.

It looks so normal on my pc and straight up too saturated on my phone though 💀

Every time I try to pick up one punch man again I give up after maybe 2 or 3 chapters because everything that comes after Boros is incredibly boring to me except for maybe one or two things, while everything else is just content for the power-scaling freaks on man twitter

There are some good metas in the comments of some opm subreddit posts, but other than that, I haven't really read much of others, no (not to mention probably very difficult to search for). I haven't really been active in opm lately and prior that for, I haven't been in it for years. gofancyninja is a rare fucking gem in ANY fandom to bring their analyses to the table. It's so detailed, solid, grounded, and unconventional that makes you view some things in new light. In my experience in the fandoms I've been in, I've encountered too many people who make metas that are heavily reaching, biased as all fuck, confuses fanon for canon, and rife with mischaracterization that it utterly ruins the experience 😵 gofancyninja was probably the first I've encountered whose metas actually made me THINK, even if I don't always agree with some

Also, ONE wrote the manga adaptation too 💀 that's WHY it's so good. Murata has very little input in the story except for the fights and even then, ONE storyboarded SOME of those. And ONE is extremely stubborn to convince. If he doesn't want a detail in a story that Murata would want to add, Murata won't be able to add it! ONE basically writes, storyboard the panels, Murata receives them and redraws them in his style alongside his assistants, maybe shift around some panels, and if they think some needs changing, back to production it goes until they get it right. They're THAT meticulous in making sure they put out refined and exemplar product in terms of writing and illustration.

I was also introduced to opm because of the anime, then the manga, then the webcomic, and then mp100. And tbh, I also lost interest the same way you did and believed mp100 to be superior. It wasn't until I read some metas that made me realize I should broaden my horizons more and not JUST focus on Genos and Saitama even if it was what got me into opm because even the other aspects of opm are intriguing to dive into. I retried reading the manga againwith this in mind and I got HOOKED. It's giving SO much. You can have a non-exhaustive list of what to discuss, it was THAT interesting.

Idk if it's a matter of age, but as I got older, I ended up preferring opm more than mp100. Yes, mp100 has so much heart and has a lighter tone, but opm makes me feel heard. It's dives a lot more into mature themes and isn't particularly shy into showing how much uglier the side of humanity is, even when it comes to its protagonist ESPECIALLY SAITAMA. Saitama isn't spared from critic and severe dressing down of his flaws that he neglects to acknowledge much less WORK upon. But it also made the kinder parts feel kinder. opm comes across as more subtle than mp100, but it also has themes of humanity, self-improvement, society, and our bonds with other people. ONE definitely IS giving his all in opm and boy are we living.

READ IT. You won't regret it.

Edit; I recommend reading some of @gofancyninjaworld posts because their analysis enhances how you'd view the story and made it feel all the richer and more intriguing to read. You'd be amazed on all the details you missed despite being so obvious.

💀 BRUH should've ended there my ass. Idk if its a matter of taste or not, but like ONE and Murata didn't put so much effort to painstakingly etch out the worldbuilding and gradually building and developing character growth and exposition in very intriguing ways just for you to say that.

ONE has something to say in opm. When Boros arc ended, he was LITERALLY just starting to talk. Saitama and Genos's story are quite literally just starting out because a lot of their issues be it personal and external aren't resolved. Was it a mite better than how they started?? Yes, but barely! And the plot gradually shows that their situations are actually not only about to get worse, it can and has reached immense devastation. Opm Isn't just about Saitama — it's mostly viewed in Saitama's pov but it's an interwoven story from various characters. You're doing yourself a great disservice for not even having the curiosity to read more.
