Hey, DPxDC fans? question: How would you incorporate Danny Phantom into this? (character wise or fandom wise)
Memory Loss Billy Edition
I've seen a few "Billy gets hit with a spell that causes him to forget that he's captain Marvel" fan works but I haven't seen anything for the opposite.
Cap gets hit with a spell and forgets that Billy Batson ever existed let alone that that's who he is.
If no one knows he's Billy; everything's OK for a while. But then be starts acting differently. More serious and less happy-go-lucky. He's got too many memories of past lives and none of them fit who he is currently. He starts having episodes where he questions if everything about himself is just a purely magical facade of a human. Is his personality and looks just the wizard and the gods idea of a perfect human being? Of a perfect Champion? Is anything about him actually him? The Justice League has to figure out what the spell did to Marvel and how to reverse it.
If they do know; the League has to convince Cap that he's actually a 8-12 year old boy while trying to find a way to reverse the spell. It doesn't help that Cap thinks the spell has affected the League and is also trying to find a spell that will get them to stop thinking he's 8-12 when he's clearly an adult.
If you add the god chat into the equation you could make it even more funny or angsty depending on how the writer decides to have things play out.

I think it’s funny to think that whenever Jason shows up to ANYTHING with a duffle bag the batfamily and co think there could be decapitated heads inside:
Dick: whatcha got there Jason?
Jason: my luggage for the mission??
Dick:
Jason:
Dick:
Jason: HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU GUYS THERE AREN’T HEADS IN HERE
Dick: THERES ALWAYS THE POSSIBILITY
Jason: I HAVEN’T KILLED ANYONE IN MONTHS
Dick: THAT WE KNOW OF
I imagine that then the Justice League becomes weary of Jason with duffle bags due to the bats. So the outlaws could be helping with a mission and:
Superman: Hood if it’s alright we’d like to search your bag?
Red Hood: there’s just my gear inside
Superman: we just want to double check it is your gear…
Red Hood:
Red Hood: not you guys too
Red Hood: THERE AREN’T ANY DECAPITATED HEADS INSIDE
Arsenal: at this point you should just put heads in there.
Red Hood: I’m not trying to get back on the Justice Leagues Wanted list Roy

AO3's expanded rating system explanation from here:
General Audiences - The content is unlikely to be disturbing to anyone, and is suitable for all ages.
Teen And Up Audiences - The content may be inappropriate for audiences under 13.
Mature - The content contains adult themes (sex, violence, etc.) that aren't as graphic as explicit-rated content
Explicit - The content contains explicit adult themes, such as porn, graphic violence, etc.
Accessing a Not Rated, Mature, or Explicit rated work will show a warning that the work may contain adult content."
So in terms of sex scenes, that would mean:
Gen - probably only referenced in passing vague ways, if at all.
Teen - equivalent to a movie PG-13. Fall on bed, fade to black, jumpcut to morning after.
Mature - Broad descriptions of the act, not getting bogged down with the nitty gritty.
Explicit - Insert Tab A into Slot B. Loving descriptions of Tab A and Slot B.

Ok I gotta suck it up and learn how to use those cool formats in AO3 to make realistic-looking text messages, YouTube comment sections, etc.
Anyone have favorite tutorials or that kind of thing?

Thinking about the JL finding out that Bruce has contingency plans for all of his kids and being horrified. But when the League asks them about it, all the kids are like “yeah! we actually all have them for each other just in case” and move on like it’s perfectly normal to have three different ways to take out your brother on hand (for emergencies).

How to hide Stats on AO3: a tutorial
Watching your fic stats roll in can sometimes be stressful. An influx of comments or kudos? Overwhelming. Low kudos on a work I love? Depressing. I envy the writers who don't notice their stats, but if you're anything like me, you might benefit from using a stat-hiding ao3 skin when you feel like you need it. As a positive side effect, it's also a great way to discover new fics to read without judging them by their stats!
@alleycat0306 asked how to hide work stats on ao3 so I offered to put a little tutorial together. We'll learn about ways to hide all stats (kudos, hits, comments, bookmarks, but also wordcount) or only hide kudos.
Hide All Stats:
go to "My Preferences" on your ao3 profile.
2. Go to "My Site Skin" (3rd section down the page).
Tumblr media
3. Select the Blurblings Hide stats skin.
Tumblr media
4. This skin will display all ao3 works (including your own) like this:
(no word count, no hits, kudos, bookmarks, or comments whatsoever. A wonderful blank slate.)
Tumblr media
5. Note that when using this skin, clicking on a work to view it will display all the stats hidden in list view.
Hide Kudos Only
This custom skin is courtesy of Tumblr user arsenicjade.
Go to My Preferences > Skins > Public Site Skins
Tumblr media
2. Select "Create Skin Site"
Tumblr media
3. In the Skin form, enter a skin name you'll easily recognize (side note: a hide-kudos skin might have been added to public skin sites since arsenicjade's tutorial - I didn't browse all existing skins)
Tumblr media
4. In the CSS box, type the following code:
p.kudos {  display: none; }
dl.stats dt:nth-child(9), dl.stats dd:nth-child(10), dl.stats dt:nth-child(11), dl.stats dd:nth-child(12) {  display: none; }
.blurb dl.stats dt:nth-child(7), .blurb dl.stats dd:nth-child(8) {  display: none; }
5. Save your custom Skin, then select and apply in the general Skins menu (it will show up at the top of the list)
6. This skin will show all works (including your own) like this:
(all work stats shown, including word count. you just won't see the kudos count)
Tumblr media
7. Note that when using this skin, clicking to view a work will not display kudos stats. You'll have to go to your Stats page to review your stats and won't be able to view other works' stats.
Good luck, and happy ao3 writing/reading!

How to Add Images to Ao3
Since it's @steddiebang season I thought I'd do a quick guide on how to add images to your fics in case people don't know how! First off, you need to use the "Rich Text" Editor on Ao3
Tumblr media
Next, you need the url of the image you want to embed. This needs to be a direct link to the image (not the post of it on socials) the way to get this is to right click on the pic wherever it's posted and "copy image address" this will copy the direct link to the image
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Ao3 Rich Text editor click the picture icon to "insert/edit image" paste the "source" url adjust width and height as needed
Tumblr media
There you go! Image in your fic! A few things to note: I copied this url from tumblr, the quality is significantly lower than the Ch1 image I already have in there. Since I haven't posted all my title cards on socials I posted them on imgur and set them to private. You could also post them on a private Pinterest board or another hosting site, you just need that url to the image address.
Tumblr media
If you want the image to be centered (something i struggled with for a while) you can click next to it to select the text line it's sitting in and center it from there
Personally, when I embed art in fics I add a line underneath to link to credit the artist & the original post to encourage readers to engage with the art directly. You can do that in the rich text editor like so:
Tumblr media
And cause i'm a stickler for crediting here's the link to this art by @glitterfang on Twitter & Tumblr
Tumblr media
If you want to link anything in the Summary or Notes then you need to use html like this: <a href="LINK URL" rel="nofollow">DISPLAY TEXT</a> Okay! Thanks for coming to my ted talk, hope that helps at least one person!

Modern fandom went awry when people stopped learning how to avoid content that upsets them and instead starting actively seeking it out.
I mean this in the kindest, most loving way possible, but babes you'll be so much happy when you stop focusing on what other people are doing and instead focus on what you like.
You'll never be able to stop people from liking what you hate, and the best way you'll find any peace of mind is properly utilizing blocking, blacklisting, and muting tools. Take it from someone who used to run a shipping discourse blog, fandom is supposed to be what you enjoy, stop focusing on things that upset you.

Imo, atla has a bittersweet ending
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aang is sitting alone and wearing the air nomads clothes, his culture clothes, a necklace similar to GYATSO's necklace. I can't even imagine the emptiness and sadness he was feeling here
There are no airbenders in the crowd
Tumblr media
All nation gathered..... except the air nomads.
No one else in the crowd wearing orange or yellow.
Aang won the war, but his people are still gone.
Yes, he has the Gaang, he has Katara, he has Momo and Appa. But he's still the last airbender.
This is so heartbreaking.

i must not stir the pot. stirring the pot is the notifications-killer. participation in the discourse is the little-death that brings total activity obliteration. i will face the bad opinions on the internet. i will permit them to pass over me and through me. and when they have gone past, i will turn the block button onto their source. where the discourse has come from there will be nothing. only i will remain.

(I like to think that) Lex Luthor gets clowned on by literally everyone, and Bruce is the absolute worst.
Like he'll attend an event and a literal millisecond later, Bruce will roll up and steal all the attention. And when they're inside, him or one of his crazy "children" will "accidentally" spill very red wine all over his expensive ass suit.
And what can Lex even do?
Last time he retaliated and mildly shoved Bruce, the man very dramatically flung himself across the room and fell straight into a table. He hadn't even gotten hurt- not a single bruise or cut- but that drama queen didn't appear in public for an entire month after the incident. The backlash Lex had gotten was so not worth it.
And it doesn't stop there. His kids join in on the "fun" and bully him too.
Tim permanently bans him from all the platforms owned by Wayne enterprisese, which is like borderline illegal, so Lex sues and somehow always loses.
Jason Duke and Steph team up and make it a game to throw things on his head without him realising. And when Luthor catches one of them, he can't even shout at them or whatnot cause hes actually scared shitless. Jason, the absolute tank of a man, just grins at him while placing his hands on the very noticeable gun at his hip. Duke and Steph stand on either side of him, gripping literal knives in their hands.
Damian just outright walks up to him and begins insulting him in a couple of different languages. He always gives Lex a final disgusted look before turning and walking off.
Dick might seem the sweetest, approaching him while smiling in that nice way of his. He's the worst, though, cause he always makes sure to bring a few reporters with him before he innocently starts outing Lex's latest evil scheme in front of the audience. He makes sure to bring solid evidence of the nefarious plans, but right at the end, he goes, "idk I could be wrong," before shrugging and walling off.
Cassandra doesn't do much, but she's definitely the scariest. Whenever Lex has had enough and is about to call a hit on Bruce, she appears out of nowhere, stares straight at him, and just shakes her head while saying, "No. Regret"
Basically, Lex Luthor, public enemy #1, gets (justifiably) bullied by the entirety of the human population (honestly, only the Waynes).
