Set Menu Everyday Wallet, the most precious thing, even it doesn't have any piece of yen. Schedule Planner, keeping my day on track. Self-reminder for easy-fotget people like me. Laptop. As a student you might not forget this thing. It's a gift! Coffee. Forget your coffee or your day will turn into sloth! Lunch box. Don't be surprised, it just tahu, quick-fry squid, some raw vegetables, and warm rice. Nothing else. Research Note. I don't know why I bring this book everywhere. But, sometimes it reminds me about why I am here. And, my phone. It keep connect me with my family and collagues. Well, it's not easy doing the same thing everyday, going to campus and going back at the certain time, meeting the same people everyday, got a lot of deadline, or repeatly doing toughtful-measurement. But, remember that A am here not just for myself. Remember the smile of the person who always support you. Remember about your dream. You will never catch your dream if you keep complain for whatever you got. (at Tohoku University Aobayama Campus)

Oga Peninsula, Akita Prefecture Oga Peninsula is located on the west land of Tohoku Region, Akita Prefecture. Here you can se bautiful beach with rocky cliff and hilly road. Most of Japan geologist noticed this area beacuse its show unique geological features. First, Oga Peninsula was one of the Russian Continental Plate. It floated appart bacause of the subduction of the oceanic crust to Japan. The subduction process create volcanoes around this land. Second. It is the one of the very few oil resources in Japan. After the volcanic activity aroun that area stopped, sediment start to fill the basin. this sediment also bring a lot of organic contain and deposited. After million years, they maturated and create oil. In this area, some company was built drilling well and try to exploit the petroleoum. Third, youc an see "GOJIRA" here!. So guys, gojira not just a fiction, they are real! for sure. #japan #akita #oga #geology #petroleoum (at Oga, Akita)

Arahama About 6.5 years ago, Japan was rocked by 9.0 magnitude earthquake that followed by tsunami. Today, we went to Arahama City, one of the city damaged by devastation tsunami. Arahama is located in eastern part of Sendai, close to the offshore. To get there, we take the subway to Arau Station from Sendai Station and then ride the bus to the Arahama Beach. There, the locals welcome us warmly. Most of them are one of the victims of those disaster. We have silent-prayer together in front of the memorial monument. We help the locals to clean the beach afterwards. Lunch time, they prepared special dishes for us, mochi! We try to smash the mochi dough as well. They also serve pizza that you can made by yourself, nice! The following tour, we go to Arahama Elementary School. This is one of the best place to study more about the tsunami happened in 2011. This is one of the building suffered from the tsunami and the locals just keep the building to remind us about this disaster. At the time tsunami swalllowed inland, a lot of people evacuate in this building. Fortunately, this building was not coallapse. That was a terrible disaster. While looking out over the whole building, we able to compare the view before and after damages. The interesting happen on that tsunami is the gymnasium clock. Yes! the clock are literally stop at 3.11 that was the day of the tsunami happened. I don't know. My be, a person set the clock and made it so dramatic. Haha. But, actually it was fun trip. Many thing I learnt from this trip. No matter where you are, you have a chance to be struck by a natural disaster. This disaster should remind us that education is important. Be aware, obtaining accurate information, and don't undersestimate anything. The beautiful calm sea might be turn into giant horrible disaster. As a student, we have important role to keep our society and environmental safe. When the disaster coming we have to be prepared and try to minimize the damage as mucha s possible. #bigjapanearthquake #tsunami #school #arahama #beach #japan (at 荒浜小学校)

SELASA KORSA. Gesa Gesu Sesu Sasa. I will never forget this jargon. In this special day, I’d like to tell you about scholarship opportunity in Tohoku University. Especially for my collage’s friend from Geological Engineering Department, Universitas Gadjah Mada. But, this information also for students who want to apply for MEXT Scholarship in Tohoku University. (1) First of all, some of MEXT Scholarship opportunity trough University Recommendation has been announced by several departments. In this case, a student who has a background in geological or earth science study may apply for this following department: 1. Graduate School of Science: (http://www.sci.tohoku.ac.jp/english/igpas/): Here is the Earth Science Department located, this department is likely similar to Geological Engineering in the scientific view. Research group available here such as volcanology, metamorphic petrology, carbonate rocks, geomorphology, dynamic geology, ore mineralogy, some geophysics application, the origin of life, and the other was unfamiliar for geological engineering students. Course taught in English are available for IGPAS Student. 2. Graduate School of Environment Study (http://www.kankyo.tohoku.ac.jp/en/special/sp01/index.html): This graduate program characterized by more than two fields of study. Geology also has a role in this study. If you are interested in environmental issues, geothermal and other renewable energy, use technology for disaster mitigation, geo-environmental measurement, rock mechanics, and hydrogeology, you can apply for this course. Course taught in English also available for IELP Students. 3. And there are other courses but I am not sure that student who has a background in geology possible apply for that. For the detail, please refer to Tohoku University official site (https://www.tohoku.ac.jp/en/academics/courses_in_english.html). Welcoming November Autumn will ended soon. Today, me and a lot of indonesian student here, @ppisendai, go to Yamadera, Yamagata Prefecture. This is the best place located near Sendai to see the colourful autmn leaves. To go to Yamadera via Sendai we take JR Senzan Line for about 40 minutes. We have to pay for 780 for one way and stop at Yamadera Station. Today is holiday so this place was full of sightseer. Yamadera in Japanese means "Mountain of Temples". A lot of temples located close to the Yamadera Station. The highest temple, Risshaku-ji Temple, located on the tophill. To go there, we have to take a hundred stairs, as well as wit a lot of energy. But you will get the best scenery of mountain valley Yamagata there. After that we go back to Sendai, but incredibelly we take the different road, River tracking! Nice. I didn't expect that the local build nice tracking road along the river. So, we can pass the river way very easy. River means, waterfall!. Yes there are a lot of waterfalls. And, the landscape was so beautifull, with the tree leaves that finally completely turn into yellowish red. So, we have somuch fun today. We get back around 5 pm with tired mass, and also wet, haha. #japan #yamagata #river #waterfall #autumn (at Yama-dera)

Iwate Trip I, Mount Iwate is located in Iwate Prefecture and become the highest volcano in Tohoku Region. Mount Iwate has been quite about 80 years ago, with small dome collapse, pyroclastic flow, and volcanic earthquakes. Last eruption resulted 4 km long lava flow called "Yakebashiri Lava Flow" which have typicaly basaltic lava. Mount Iwate have unique morphology. The starto-shape is very smooth on the east-side with quite slighty step flank, but on the opposite side the shape looks very rough. The rough shape was formed from several dome collapse from ancient volcano. About 60 years ago, geological exploration found geothermal resource potential near to the Mount Iwate. And, recently more exploration for geothermal potential are being conducted. Thats why, studying volcano here will be very interesting and chalangging. It is look beautiful. However, it could be erupt by anytime. It will be dangerous to the nearest city, Morioka. Volcanic eruption can't be predicted, but Japanese goverment are pay attention to the activity of this volcano every day by study its shape-changes. They could be prepare for all the unfavorable things when this big volcano erupt again. #iwate #geothermal #mountain #volcano #japan (at Mount Iwate)

Sendai Sendai is a beautiful city, isn't it?. But, I have to say goodbye to the warmest of 25 degrees wather and face a very cold temperature which will be turn slowly down during this season until winter comes. I have to say goodbye to the delicious, sweet, spicy, and cheap all you can eat food and habituate myself into limited comestible things and incredibely expensive. I have to say goodbye to the everywhere destination by motorcycle and become good pedestrian who always use public transportation, waiting for the bus, stay further if you miss the bus, or walk. And, I have to say goodbye to all of my comfortable zones, my family, my friends, my collagues, and encounter new circumtaces, wether its good or bad, easy or hard, full of pleasant or completely nightmare. I have to stay here and keep strong. Is that too homesick? No, I am (pretend to be) not. Despite of all of this, I am grateful to be here. #bukanhomesick #sendai #japan #miniature (at Sendai)

MIYAGI TRIP Its holiday!. Its been 10 days since I arrive in Sendai. Sendai is a beautiful city and I should not missed all of the things inside this town. I hope so. Today, Nono-san, Nakao-san, Yamagida-san, Fujita-san, and I are going to trip around Sendai. First destination is a Yuriage Harbour Morning Market. It is a tradisional market were fish and other seafood mostly stored. This market only open on Sunday. There was many people gathering and have a mini barbeque with their fresh seafood. We buy some seafood and grill it together. The taste of oysters never been so delicious as this before. After that, we spent our time at Prefectural Forest Park, north-side Sendai. This park is very incridible since it have a "Outbound Track". We don't need to pay money to enter this park. The outbound track is very challanging. Eventough all of us are more than 22 years old, we still enjoy all the track, especially the slider. It was so fun. To end this day, we were going to Miyagiken Library. Actually this is the main purpose of this trip today, to attend "Invenzione Armonica", clasical music concert which our friend, Mujin-san, show her performance. This is my first time see classical music concert and it was very wonderful. Hai, Otsukare sama deshita, minna-san. See you on the next trip! #Sendai #Miyagi (at Miyagi Prefecture)

It's October! Today, I was going to Matsushima, small town located on the north of Capital City, Sendai. We were taking Senseki Line at the Sendai Station, and it cost ¥410 for one ride to Matsushimakaigan. We were too early to go to this town, because the autumn just begin and the pine trees leaves covered the islets were still going to turn into red. But, it wasn't weaken our curiousity to go through Fukuurabashi Bridge brought us to the one of the tiny islands, Fukuurajima Island. The island was formed from unconsolidated sandstone, rich of quartz, ferromagnesian minerals, and could be tuff with sand to gravel size. The pine trees covering the island were very beautiful. We could see some crows, seagules, and yellow big spiders along the tracking road. In the middle of the island, there are temple heading directly to the sea. In that points, we could see another tiny islands near the Matsushima Bay. Matsushima were famous for its delicous oysters. The oysters shack could be found along the Matsushima Bay. We were taking a walk along the Matsushima street to get a fresh oysters grilled right in fornt of us with tasty smells. I was paying for ¥600 to get the bigest oysters I ever ate in my life. It was quite expensive actually. Yes, we were having a good time. Kasper, Andros, Simons, and I were taking a lot photos too. From that photo, I knew that I was the guy with the blackest skin beside the two european and the latino guys. Really. By the way, thank you Kasper for taking us to the first time travel in Sendai City. (at Matsushima, Miyagi)

Ke Jepang men gila! Kalau mau nyari anaknya. Cukup bikin suara "kresek kresek" pake bungkus chiki. Dia akan keluar dengan sendirinya. Biasanya chiki yg banyak micinnya. Selamat jalan El!. (at Dieng Pleatau)

My childhood life is save. Saya bersyukur jadi generasi 90-an. Kalau malam menjelang bukan belajar, masih main, main patisan sampe keliling desa, terus yg jaga nangis gara gara ditinggal. Sekarang, sedih melihat anak kecil kemana-mana bawa hape seperti orang dewasa. Mau main bareng temennya tinggal chat terus pergi ke warung kopi buat wifi gratis karena ga mampu beli kuota. Lapangan luas terlihat sepi, jalanan ramai oleh sepeda motor bukan anak kecil yang berlarian. Mereka seru bermain game online, bukan seru merencanakan kemana akan bermain nanti malam. Meski begitu, memang sekarang bukanlah jamannya. Jaman generasi milenial. Tapi aku bersyukur, jadi anak generasi 90-an. In frame: Ulang tahun sahabat kecil saya, bersama teman-teman penghuni Mbanar Raya. Mbanar yang dulu bukanlah yang sekarang. Sekarang mereka udah dewasa, udah momong anak dua. Saya? Mau start aja masih mikir mikir dulu. (at Pilang, Jawa Timur, Indonesia)

Hobinya ngrumat duit, duit HM, duit Geoweek, Duit KL. Jadi kalo kalian bayangin dia kaya teller berjalan. Neni ini orangnya agak baperan. Tapi aku bahagia akhirnya dia telah menemukan tambatan hatinya. @agins_ . Sepak terjang Neni di dunia perhelatan geologi tidaklah mudah. Entah kenapa sehabis KKN dia bukan tambah gemuk, tapi lebih langsing. Ini membuktikan bahwa susu yang diminumnya cocok. Neni punya kelompok bermain yg dinamai cabe. Entah kenapa bisa namanya cabe padahal aku ga pernah melihat mereka boncengan semotor bertiga. Mungkin mereka termasuk golongan ibu-ibu sen kanan belok kiri. Well Nen, setiap orang punya kisahnya masing-masing. Perjuangan belum selesai ya, Nen. Baik-baik kau sama kakak.
