Lizard pose, or Utthan Pristhasana, is an intermediate hip opener in yoga that also provides a deep quad and psoas stretch. It strengthens the shoulders, chest, core, and glutes, and is said to boost the reproductive system in some circles. Contraindications to the pose include hip and knee injury, weak shoulders or forearms, and severe lower back pain.
