you know you have such a unique voice in your writing, and I'm really curious as to how you've developed it, so I'd really love to known what works of literature in the real world you think affected you the most? (and while you're here I'd love to know of anything in other mediums like albums, shows, movies etc etc, if there are any you think of)

iv been sitting on this ask for 80 yrs bc i didnt want to give you a stupid answer... but it seems i have no other... i drew blanks and the reason is bc i dont read to write and never have, so in that way i think everything iv ever read and loved has affected me about the same. when i was younger i was obsessed with animorphs and fear street and all sorts of ya fantasy, but i also read a truly unhinged amount of (good, bad, ugly) romance courtesy of my mother. i mean kleypas and brown but also palmer and mcnaught and jackson and lindsey and ghurke. hundreds! maybe i broke a thousand! but did that affect me any more or less than the 80 times i've read jurassic park like who knows.

when it comes to other media, i listen to hindi music almost exclusively and i think about it a lot. adult swim anime consumed a great deal of my brain for a great deal of time. this is such a chaotic reply i'm sorry. my favourite tv show ever is monk (not all cops.... bye...) i have read every book crichton ever wrote yes even micro yes the whole thing... i hope to one day find the sort of humour and heart pratchett has. i love some really stupid hindi movies. you know what has amazing dialogue? new girl

hello my friend tbh there is no great process, best to picture me as an overstimulated toddler who picks up her toys and heads for a corner bc no one else is making the right dinosaur noises

i wish i had more time to zone out over fic actually, i think one of the best feelings is to be in such conversation with your characters that the rest of the world is whatever. you wake up thinking about when theyre going to kiss... you fall asleep having made them attack each other... you are happy

offering another thought re fandom takes survey - i like reading them but arguing in the abstract is boring to me. write a story with your die on the hill take and then i'll read it and decide if i agree. i would much rather discuss that because i can be convinced of anything in the right hands.

Oh my god, I was just looking at your blog thinking about sending an ask along the lines of: the fact that your drarry looks different in a lot of your drawings makes me so happy and feel so comfy creating art about them just for me without worrying that it’s not a perfectly designed fully fleshed out (design wise) character & then THAT SAME POST the tags read “don’t ask me why he looks different in every drawing” or something along those lines. We will have a beautiful summer wedding. (The guests will be all the different iterations of our drarries)

this made me happy as i am presently in the middle of drawing 8 more harty and darcos that look nothing alike ☺️

“I heard Malfoy’s giving decent head in the prefects’ bathroom for a sickle a go,” said Seamus, not troubling to lower his voice. “No more Manor house airs for some, hey?”

Finch-Fletchley guffawed, and Ron snorted before he caught Hermione’s glare.

Harry bowed his head to his essay, a convenient place to fix his eyes so he didn’t have to look up and see how Malfoy was reacting on the far side of the eighth year common room.

But before Harry could put quill back to parchment, a voice cut through the laughter and chatter: “It’s a galleon.”

“What?” said Seamus.

It was Malfoy, rising and making some fine adjustments to his school jumper, as if it were not visibly shabby and outgrown. “It costs a galleon,” he said, all vinegar and ice. “And it’s not decent, it’s fantastic.”

It was fantastic, though this was the first time they’d tried the prefects’ bathroom.

Draco swallowed neatly, rocked back onto his heels, and looked up at Harry.

“Make sure you tell Finnigan,” Draco said, swiping the back of his hand over his mouth, and left.

I believe in God only because there’s no other explanation for how I ended up in a fandom with the most talented writer and how all her tags match my search criteria. Obsessed. I can’t wait to read more.
