This is from 2004, so 20 years to the year and Slayer's back in the same game as A.B.A and Paracelsus again! Please please have some funny interactions!

Also to my A.B.A and Paracelsus followers; this is the man who curbstomped Paracelsus out of his old violent mindset, and is actively rooting for them together LOL!

When blood packs was a literal game mechanic for her too lol. Tho I originally thought she literally stole those blood packs from Flask’s fridges, or hospitals lol. If she filled the blood packs herself too, I wonder if the mercury in her blood affected Paracelsus too.

A.B.A, sweetie, I'm sorry but uh yeah he WAS using you like a tasty convenient juice box for awhile there.

It might take her a bit to fully grasp what "manipulation" Paracelsus is referring to, or deep down she probably knows it already.

It makes me wonder what all happened between her introduction game and Strive. What made Paracelsus decide he needed to either wean off bloodsport, or did he go cold turkey?

Did something happen on their travels to make him have a realization that he didn't want to put A.B.A purposely in harms way ever again?

Or was it A.B.A's influence that finally chilled him out and made Paracelsus' personality mature?

Look I’m aware this is from Helluva Boss, and there aren’t crossovers with Hazbin, and this isn’t likely to be Zestial cos of that plus it’s prolly Wrath/Satan and this screenshot just makes him extremely similar looking to Zestial…

Ever since seeing how it’s canon A.B.A gets especially horny when Paracelsus goes Moroha mode, she would totally be a monsterfucker for goat-mode Paracelsus.

at this point my brain just might be infected with paraba virus........here's the result of my craziness.....

So I have been thinking about why Slayer seems pretty invested in what happens with A.B.A and Paracelsus as a couple, and I think it's because he and Sharon actually share a lot of similarities with A.B.A and Paracelsus.

They’re consistently depicted as ‘couples’. A.B.A and Paracelsus as an actual in game battle couple, while Sharon is on the sidelines but is very much present with Slayer prefight, post-fight etc.

Slayer as a Nightwalker also hungers and gains power from blood similar to Paracelsus, tho whether he NEEDS blood to survive I’m unsure (I think Nago survived hibernation without drinking blood so that would be similar to Para who survived 20 years not drinking blood).

Slayer has been able to satiate his own hunger without hurting/killing other people because Sharon is deathless and is a willing endless supply of blood for him. Paracelsus was provided blood by A.B.A tho not directly her own blood (usually), but also, it’s implied her being a homunculus made her tough enough to survive longer than usual as Paracelsus’ wielder. Paracelsus got over his desire of blood by choice though, whereas Slayer simply has an easy endless source of it.

Because of the above point, Slayer is actually really friendly to everyone and peace-loving despite his overwhelming power. He was disappointed with young Paracelsus who he felt was a bore and waste of time for being focused on killing and violence. Afterwards, Paracelsus would recognize that Slayer only wants peace when they next meet while Slayer realized he was already suppressing his power. By STRIVE, Paracelsus has adopted a philosophy close to pacifism as he never actively wants to fight or transform anymore.

Slayer has been alive for a very long time (longer than most of the cast if not all of them, even That Man) and Sharon cannot die, so they are eternal lovers. Similarly, A.B.A has said her and Paracelsus’ “love is eternal”. As Para is a magical foci and A.B.A is likely to be immortal or at least extremely long lived, this may also be their fate where they cannot die naturally. Bit iffy on A.B.A since her hair is actually growing, but whether she ages at all is another thing.

And Slayer can be possessive of Sharon in almost the same exact scenarios and in the same ways as A.B.A:

Getting jealous of himself, getting jealous of other people eyeing Sharon, and believing in obsession being a form of love, which explains SO MUCH about why he was so helpful with helping A.B.A contact the right people to put Paracelsus in a body.

And Sharon goes bonkers jealous over Slayer too.

He's coming up in the next DLC (as long as ArcSys doesn't fake out everyone with the silhouette again) so I really hope we get him commenting on A.B.A and Paracelsus' progress, since that was what he was interested in 20 IRL years ago.

Question about Paracelsus, does he actually like aba? I’m guessing in the older game, he mostly tolerated her because she can fight (except for the fact he deliberately chooses not to control her) but in the new one, I’m pretty much confused. When he ends his transformation, He says “That’s my answer, ABA, As your partner.” Problem is that I have no idea which meaning of “partner” he meant. It could be just fighting partners but him having a whole emotional speech and transformation for a “business partner.” If I try to look at the view of actually going for ABA’s dreams for marriage, it feels incomplete and odd because she is slowly transforming him into what she sees fit. Please I really want to know what he meant!

Side note: ABA’s feelings of jealousy and abandonment are completely valid as Paracelsus has done that! To her face! WITH A RANDOM STRANGER TO HER!!! In night of knives volume 2.

Life partner, since Paracelsus no longer really wants to fight on principle, so 'fighting partner' like he used to regard A.B.A as and originally hoped she would regard him as, that's out of the window. So if he's still resolving to stay with her, it's as a life partner. The extent of what that means to him is prolly different from A.B.A, but that can evolve over time.

Because Paracelsus, as he has stated, is an axe. He understands relationships in axe terms, which is he acknowledges his wielder (which he did acknowledge A.B.A as at the end of Night of Knives) and he kills other people that threaten them. His whole situation-ship with A.B.A has forced him to be involved in roles he was never equipped to deal with and was forced to adapt to - being an emotional support, being an actual object of attraction, having to constantly protect his wielder from herself, having to be a counsel on social norms that he shouldn't know all that well to begin with as an axe but he's expected to, having to communicate on behalf of his wielder to navigate social situations and dispel conflict - quite literally none of these are on the checklist of 'being an axe that kills people real good.

Yeah he wanted to leave A.B.A in NoK, and honestly who wouldn't? From his perspective, she was hellbent on not treating him as the weapon he wanted her to treat him as. She was figuratively and literally emotion dumping on him constantly, what with the empathetic bond prolly not helping matters. And he kept trying to dispel every delusion and assumption she had about their relationship constantly. As he was being sexually harassed despite his protests and mid-battle, constantly.

But even back then, Slayer implied that Paracelsus never hated A.B.A personally, but her constant advances, the situations they got into, it was all frustrating to him when he really wanted to be 'just a weapon' back then.

We kinda skipped Paracelsus character development up till STRIVE but IMO, I think he figured out he had to be proactive with A.B.A, cause sticking with his "I'm a weapon, and only a weapon" principles wasn't helping. He accepted that he needed to be the responsible one of the two, that he had to kick his blood habit because it made him lose control and also got them into fights etc. He accepted that he had to change for the sake of A.B.A.

Thinking about marriage for them is kinda falling into the trap that A.B.A fell into IMO. Her theme hints that being bound by specific definitions of words or expectations may have prevented her and them from organically growing their relationship, whatever it can or would be.

Part of her major development is that she acknowledges she's been obsessed with the idea of love, but not actually truly understanding what it is. Her obsession with Paracelsus is more of her playing the part rather than understanding the feeling. Part of her growth was choosing to let go of Paracelsus for his own good, and in fact it was an expression of true love, even though she didn't realize it. Paracelsus is also learning about love and Elphelt suggested that looking out for someone is in fact a form of love, and that surprised him. He didn't seem to realize that the steps he's taken to take care of A.B.A are expressions of love themselves either.

As Paracelsus explained to A.B.A, he's not sure where their relationship will go or what the future holds for them. How their feelings will develop is still up in the air, but he tries to show A.B.A that if he could change so much, then she can too. The idea is that they're finally free to be whatever they're going to be, and they're choosing to stick together to that end, and that's the most important thing.

So just some random trivia, the name ‘Paracelsus’ is made-up IRL. The alchemist’s full name was Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim (seriously BOMBASTUS?!).

He made-up the penname Paracelsus from two words - ‘para’ meaning ‘beyond’ and ‘Celsus’ who was another alchemist he had beef with.

So he called himself ‘ParaCelsus’ literally saying ‘beyond Celsus’ aka I am ‘better than Celsus’.

And I bring this up cos that means there’s no inherent gender associated with the name Paracelsus because it’s not a real name, it’s a portmanteau. I just like the idea that A.B.A’s creator was a woman instead a guy as we prolly usually imagine. It would explain the A.B.A sized shorts all around the lab if you think about it.

It can go either or any way if ArcSys chooses to bring back that character ever, I just think it’ll be neat.

I’m wondering if A.B.A seemed to get excited about Paracelsus in Moroha mode (in more ways than one…) was also cos when he has the goat head, his face actually sticks out and she can stick her head under his chin.

And like, this is physically the closest thing to a hug she can get from him.

To just add on, my headcanon why Paracelsus is that repulsed by Happy Chaos poking him:

a) He's still very much an axe and has a sense of 'weapon propriety' that no one touches him except his designated wielder aka A.B.A.

b) He's not used to anyone besides A.B.A touching him after all this time and is now averse to it cos it feels foreign and ick.

c) Paracelsus almost never rotates his head independent of his body (even tho apparently he actually can). It might be related to point A, he's behaving like an actual axe so he doesn't 'rotate' and stands straight nearly no matter the circumstances, especially when wielded in combat.

Him 'breaking character' to react to Happy Chaos is possibly because he recognises the power and danger that HC is and is extra wary. Especially because Paracelsus is from the Backyard and is prolly more sensitive to beings that pull power from there like HC can.

This is somewhat similar to Para's behavior in the past where when facing a threat he feels is actually malevolent and a danger, he enters Moroha mode automatically even without a bloodpack and out of combat, in preparation for battle and warns A.B.A.

Paracelsus is so offended by Happy Chaos' poke lol! HC took advantage of A.B.A being really out of it and not looking right then too.

Also I never really thought about how Paracelsus can rotate his head independently of his body...looks so strange lol.

One thing I miss about classic A.B.A was that she used to use alchemy magic with her mercury-infused blood to create fire magic special attacks. This projectile attack was replaced by her Keeper of the Key Overdrive where the three hits are now from goopy bladed tentacles she summons through her alchemy door.

Tho looking at the kind of digital particle effects her old attack had, it's possible she was opening mini-gates to the Backyard ,so it's still similar to what she's doing in her new Overdrive.

The main difference is ofc she's not cutting herself to use her blood as the medium for it anymore. Even Paracelsus was horrified to see her doing that! Tho he may have thought it was a waste of blood that could be going to him hm...
