love how even among ppl who profess to prison abolition, the instant assumption is "they arrested the guy that did it!"

not "they arrested the guy they THINK did it"

just boom, instant assumption of guilt, do not pass go do not collect two hundred dollars. come on guys you know better than this. you know the cops are buffoons in every way shape and form, and you also know the words "innocent until proven guilty". that's not just a pretty phrase, it literally, legally, means that authorities and news outlets cannot say "we got the guy what done it" until there is a trial. and even then! even then!! that possible conviction may or may not be true!
