cool rock

I think this rock is really well painted and there were other ones similar this one but I wasn’t able to get pictures.

I think someone from the nearby Catholic Church might be putting them out, they add a nice pop of colour.

I wonder what kind of paint they use, since these painted rocks last for years.

the snapping turtle >_<

The pictures aren’t the best, but if you look at the middle of them, you can see the slightly lighter silhouette of a snapping turtle.

this snapping turtle is either an absolutely huge snapping turtle named birtha or one of her descendants, she is/was about the size of an average hubcap and I mistook her for an alligator snapping turtle at first because her shell was abnormally spiky, but she is just a normal North American snapping turtle. :3

(I know the snapping turtle is a she because I saw her laying eggs in my yard across from the pond she lives in.)

maroon grass :3

Idk why the grass is maroon, I think it’s pollen. The other pictures are of jewelweed which is a very awesome plant that grows very big and the hummingbirds like its flowers. I saw some ducklings too but I couldn’t get a picture, they are growing very fast. :)

slug

Found a slug under some logs I was moving. Put it in a patch of what I think is wild rhubarb, I find a lot of slugs around them so I think they like to munch on it.

I like slugs a lot, wish I could find more banana slugs but they don’t seem to be in my area anymore. :(
