I’m Moving!

Hey everyone! I decided it was about time to bring this guy back from hiatus and shake off the dust. To facilitate Lord Silvercrest’s return, I have relocated his important story stuff to a side-blog off of my main blog @terenus. The new blog can be followed at @eliotsilvercrest.

To speed along the transition, I would greatly appreciate if you all could follow me there, and even send me some prompts and starters so I can get cracking writing again.

I’ll have some story forthcoming shortly to explain Eliot’s absence (Totaling about a month IC).

One morning, as Aeviara and Percival were preparing for their morning ride, Eliot caught earshot of the lady speaking to the bird. The knight spun ‘round to look at her so quickly that he might have gotten whiplash. “Percival?” He inquired, a brow raised in intrigue. “You certainly do seem to have a fascination with that name, don’t you, my lady?”

[ A letter would arrive, sealed with black wax. Accompanying it, would be a book that held pictures of birds on it, inscribed in silver with the title “ Avian of Kalimdor” ]

My dearest Aeviara, 

It pleases me that you both enjoyed the simple note, and the gift I will admit in hindsight has provided that next time I choose to send someone an Owl, that I should at least provide the information to take care of it. Please forgive me in this, though I have included a copy from my library of a book that will indeed be helpful, in more ways then one I should hope.

As far as our feathered friend goes; He is from Winterspring, and is a Snow-crested owl. They tend to be found in colder climates but also have the ability to adjust as well, an oddity among the species. Another oddity for Percival, is that he hunts during the day, which is specific to his family of owl. You should not have to feed him at all, as he is quite capable of gathering his own food. They are loyal and their might be a time when you find a small collection of bones and fur, please do not be alarmed if he leaves you “presents”. While the prey is much different in Winterspring, he will also adjust to what animals make their home in Quel'Thalas.

You will be able to let him out of his cage, and he will come back provided that he recognizes your scent. While he did not imprint on a person, he seems to be keen to stay with one. I didn’t think it very fair to keep him as I already have an owl myself and they tend to be territorial of their owners. 

The symbol of the owl not only wisdom, but intuition. They are said to bond to those who are able to see past deception, who see what most cannot. It seems if you’ve found a bond with him then you are indeed a perceptive woman. It can also represent a “death” if you will, perhaps something that is changed in your life. 

Though my gift was meant to be more of a gesture of friendship, so I hope you do not read too deeply into the symbolism. I promise I am not sending you any sort of odd omens.

11) What do you love to RP?

All sorts of things… Top three?

1) Magic. Most of my characters that practice treat it like the science that Warcraft universe has developed the practice of magic to be. Writing with any character that is magically inclined in this medium is certainly a fun challenge, and can be very rewarding.

2) Melee combat. My two main muses are both melee fighters, although Terenus is far more specialized than Eliot is, both are fairly skilled with a blade. I don’t usually do this type of writing with another person except for aeviaras/ anashae, because there’s a certain amount of trust involved when you’re writing a combat situation.

3) Teaching/Education. I’m not hugely interested in doing lectures or things like that, but when my character can impart a practical skill to somebody else? These can be great scenes! IRL, I am a very hands-on learner, and my teaching style when called upon to do so is very much the same.

Edit: This is just within the Warcraft universe/medium. This is the only roleplaying I’ve ever really done, but I’d be open to experiment with AU/other mediums of writing.

How many muses do you have and which do you relate to most? Why?

Four muses total, but only two that I play with any kind of frequency:

Terenus Dawncreed (terenus.tumblr.com) - A seasoned assassin who specializes in swords. He’s also a tanner who designs much of his own armor.

Eliot Silvercrest (this blog) - Retired Knight-Commander, more recently the newly-named Lord of House Silvercrest, a family driven to financial ruin by his uncle, who usurped the usurped his position as heir to the house.

Tanven Dawncreed (no tumblr... yet.) - Younger brother to Terenus Dawncreed. He was thought to have been killed in the Scourge invasion of Dalaran, but escaped with with a hastily-crafted illusion. Now a chronomancer of moderate skill, Tanven is looking to reconnect with his brother.

Tiresius Ceunon (also no blog.) - An elderly cleric and scholar of the Light. Sometime-mentor of Aeviara Starsong [ aeviaras ]. Tiresius specializes in ancient hymns and prayers - words of power that command the influence of the Light.

I probably connect the most strongly with the former two: Terenus, because he is my oldest character (I have been roleplaying with him on and off for going on eight years now). Eliot is a much more recent creation of mine. His character concept came about when I moved to Wyrmrest Accord in late March-early April. 

Professionally speaking, Eliot is very talented at what he does in almost all regards... But he is socially immature - not inept, mind you, but immature... He’s still coming into his own as a person outside of a military setting and how he relates to other people. I relate pretty closely with this aspect of his personality because I was homeschooled for most of the time growing up, and was fairly reclusive during the short period I attended high school and college. Talking with people in any kind of social setting is a bit frightening - a fear that Eliot shares. We’re both still learning how to adapt to it.
