Day 4: Fantasy

Lance here is dressed up garb that is very reminiscent of fantasy attire...but he actually "stole" it from someone! Charizard is here, too, and Mega evolved! (This honestly could've been for Day 5, too, but decided last minute it would be more fitting for today lol)

Day 2: Family

Random ass idea I had for a Pokémon fanfic.

Ex-Elite Four Lorelei and Gym Leader Valerie get into a vicious online rivalry over buying rare Pokémon plushies on eBay. Neither of them know who the other person actually is, they just know each other as i<3lapras and sylveonstan700.

Because of the time zone difference between Kanto and Kalos, one has to stay up until near midnight to snipe the other person at the last ten seconds in the bid. A lot of coffee is involved.

Then there's this big national Pokémon League seminar that all the Gym Leaders and Elite Four have to attend and Valerie overhears Lorelei showing off this collectors item 2015 Pokémon Center Sleeping Glaceon Kuttari Plush that she just won in an ebay bid recently, aka the bid that Valerie lost in the last five seconds that she was really sore about because she wanted to give it to her girlfriend as a birthday gift, so Valerie just goes "YOOOOU!" from across the room and instantly drops the serene, graceful persona she puts on in public and just straight up fights Lorelei then and there in front of dozens of people.

So now they both know who each other really are and things get even more intense, but suddenly a third, completely unknown bidder just starts sniping both of them and winning the bid at the last moment, stealing the plushie from them and they're both just so confused and mad about it, like "Who is this?!" because they both spend like hundreds of pokedollars on these bids so it's not like any random person can win them consistently

So then it turns out this mystery bidder is Sabrina, she's been using her psychic powers to predict exactly when they both bid so she can cut in after them. Turns out she's also a plush collector and she started doing it after witnessing the scuffle they got in during the seminar and she wants to fuck with Lorelei specifically.

Lorelei has been managing a Pokémon League PR disaster caused by Sabrina because she psychically teleported a Team Rocket Grunt to the top of the Silph Co building and dropped him because he tried to steal her Espeon and ended up kicking it, (she caught him before he hit the ground, just made his life flash before his eyes) and it's this whole social media drama arguing over whether or not she was justified in doing that so Sabrina's been pretty sour towards Lorelei because she's been constantly lectured by her not to torment people with her psychic powers even if they really deserved it.

So Sabrina's been putting away every stolen ebay bid in a cupboard and is going to reveal herself and the merch in the next Pokémon League seminar and watch as Lorelei and Valerie fight over who rightfully deserves them, just for shits and giggles.

I'm writing this because I'm also an avid Pokémon Plush collector and I have wanted to deck the other person in the face when they outbid me at the last second. I still haven't forgiven that one guy for the Serperior plush I lost in the last three seconds on a Sunday in 2022. Putting my own personal experience into this fic.

Classic Lorelei

Played around with the Lorelei and Will theory for this one, so here's my take on the theory. Considering this as both day five and six for this inktober piece.

Lance being the red gyarados of the family is now cannon to me, and so I have to make head cannons for this and just his hair in general.

Lance’s whole entire family has blue hair. All the way to his earliest ancestors. He just has red hair for some reason. Lance has to explain that he isn’t adopted. Every single time someone asks, he just says that he has no idea how or why he has red hair.

Whenever any of Lance’s friends come to Blackthorn, they don’t have to call or text to know where he is. They just have to find the one with the red hair.

People think Lorelei and Lance are related. Lorelei quickly shuts this down though. This also the case for Silver too. A lot of people outside of Johto and Kanto are surprised all three aren’t related.

Lance definitely uses hair gel/spray to get his hair in the style we see it in. This in turn makes Clair really mad because his hair gets everywhere. She can’t go anywhere without seeing some red strands. Clair tries to tell him to use less product, which he sort of listens to, but not really. She’s especially pissed when it somehow gets in the Holy Dragon Lands. He doesn’t really care about it. It’s not like he doesn’t care about the cleanliness, he does care, but he doesn’t see it as big of a deal as Clair.

His hair is normally straight like his cousin’s. His doesn’t have a subtle wave like Clair’s hair. His hair barely touches his shoulders, just barely.

A lot of people try to convince Lance to change hairstyles. Diantha and Wallace try to convince him to change hairstyles. Clair just tells him to stop using that much hair product. Steven and Cynthia tell him to try one day without styling it. Lorelei just stole his products when they lived in the Indigo League. Agatha just tells Lance he shouldn’t keep using the same hairstyle over and over again. Will backhanded compliments. Karen tries to gently suggest different options. And Bruno, Bruno just flat out tells him he doesn’t like his hair. Koga doesn’t really care.

People visiting Blackthorn for vacations/sightseeing see all of the soft calm blue hair then are taken aback seeing one guy with red hair. They ask the Blackthorn residents who he is, so they are stunned to hear he’s not only a relative to Clair, but he’s also the Champion.

I remember I tried to draw every elite 4 and champion a while ago. I didnt get past gen 1 tho… it does not look good I mean just look at that!
