The leather we use is produced in traditional Moroccan tanneries using natural processes passed down through generations of artisans for more than a thousand years. We believe in sustaining the art of traditional artisan craftsmanship being challenged by “fast fashion production” in Morocco and worldwide. Our new elkarti #Portland tote. Our designer and founder Ahmed Abidine designed the Portland tote for function and class. It is an essential work tote that every classy and conscious women needs.
The tote is handcrafted out of vegetable tanned leather. The gorgeous red color is achieved through the process of natural pigment tanning. The red color is extracted from the natural red pigments of Morocco. The leather is colored by hand following a traditional pigment based natural process.
