Ooof.

Relearning Photoshop is a trial and a half.

So many little settings I didn't realize I didn't have in my old version (a small blessing lol) and so many settings I had changed to a personal preference I now need to re-do.

Also WHO MADE PHOTOSHOP AUTO SELECT WHEN USING THE MOVE TOOL?!??!

I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out why it would only move the "background" layer when I was trying to move an object. That is the WORST feature.

Hello

You know I don't know that I've ever posted a text post on here. Figured I'd let some art stream of consciousness flow if you'd like to read it. Have a good night everyone.

I feel so ancient lol. I finally updated my technology since 2014 and it's been a wild 48hrs. Hopefully none of this comes to bite me in the butt. I'm excited to finally use my old wacom drawing tablet again. Hopefully this will motivate me to create more pieces.

Though, I realized just how burnt out or just technologically behind my brain is tonight. I feel like pieces of a puzzle are clicking back into place. I haven't had to operate a "system" in 12 years, but yet I feel like neuropathways are reconnecting from when I was 20 and had to diagnose the iMac in the school lab because google wasn't even a help back then. I literally feel the little creatures that live in my brain dusting off stacks of books to remember how to do things on a desktop.

I've been operating off hand me down laptops for the last few years and they came with a lot of work arounds. I'd often have to upload art to the cloud, then access that on the laptop, edit it with an outdated Ps5 copy, reupload to the cloud, then add it to my website, but have to check it on the computer because the tablet app for squarespace wouldn't load images. Like, could it be more complicated lol. Hopefully, now I can start consolidating everything to one machine again.

Time to be a pirate and sail the seas for a Windows copy of Photoshop.

When my dog passed away recently I went outside and listened for what bird I heard first, it was a blue jay. Since then I’ve heard so many jays in our yard. It’s been a tiny comfort to have something that is living on that makes me think of our dog. Even though it was clearly his time, I miss him so much.

Been away from Tumblr for a bit and have to say thank you for the recent love on my posts!

I think a lot of us are migrating back to lesser and known evils rather than the wild new ones lol.

I do have various socials (insta, artfol, patreon, kofi, and a website) all ellenfoxart. I tried probably every new art app that came out for a while. At least the ones you didn't have to have an invite to. But here I trudge back to the comfort of the void that is Tumblr lol. What a weird time we exist in.
