One day, one rhyme- Day 3219
Warm leafy brew served in strange way,
In gen’rous silver scoops array;
And in a pile that’s weird to see:
A heap of heaped teaspoons of tea.

One day, one rhyme- Day 3218
Every colour sat end to end
In string that’s used to knit or mend
Or, my least favourite task, to darn:
A rainbow coloured ball of yarn.

One day, one rhyme- Day 3217
The sky’s an angry, rainy grey
But Amy wants some fun;
She climbs a ladder to the clouds
To dance under the sun.

One day, one rhyme- Day 3216
When winter rears its ugly head,
I’d rather stay asleep in bed-
But alas I must face the day,
I’m an adult, or so they say.
Ready to face the world I’ll be
After this hundredth cup of tea.

One day, one rhyme- Day 3215
Jenny has a magical power,
Like a wizard or jinn-
She knows exactly which Tupperware
The leftovers fit in.
#rhyme#poetry#poets corner#poets on tumblr#onedayonerhyme#twcpoetry#short rhyme#poem#Jenny is a real life hero I say to my 3 too small and 1 too large containers

One day, one rhyme- Day 3214
Thrice three Grandmothers have a knack
For whipping up a tasty snack-
Their crafty dish will feed oodles:
Nine Nannas knitting with noodles.
Edit: fixed first line from twice to thrice

One day, one rhyme- Day 3213
Male chicken’s anything but plain,
He’s learned the Swiss alp style refrain
As well as cock-a-doodle-do:
A rooster that can yodel too!

One day, one rhyme- Day 3212
There is a new cafe in town
But I don’t want to try it.
It’s product is healthy and green,
But I don’t want to buy it.
They say it is the next big thing
But I won’t say, “Me too, please!”
I just don’t think I need a place
That sells broccoli smoothies…

One day, one rhyme- Day 3211
Ice cold dairy treat in a scoop
In place of warm thing that’s not soup,
In tea vessels that your hand hugs:
Serving ice cream in coffee mugs.

One day, one rhyme- Day 3210
I built a Lego dragon,
All scale and tooth and claw
And put it on my roomba,
So it can clean my floor.
I built a Lego gryphon,
All fierce and feathery.
I built it round my kettle,
So it can brew my tea.
I built Lego unicorns,
In bright pastel hues,
I put them in my wardrobe,
So they can guard my shoes.
I built a Lego gargoyle
Over my door he sticks-
So he can guard my home while
I go to buy more bricks!

One day, one rhyme- Day 3209
Sugar and bubbles, a fine drink
But a strange place to be I think-
Small paddling tub where kids have played:
Wading pool full of lemonade.

Above the place you keep the car
Large bird of prey gazes afar,
Talons on tin, mighty, aloof:
An eagle on the garage roof.

One day, one rhyme- Day 3207
“Quack quack,” he looks as though he’d say,
But this one won’t waddle or sway;
He’s bready, tasty cake- what luck!:
A scone shaped like a mallard duck.

Colourful Aussie parrots bright
A red, yellow and blue delight
Riding a Hills hoist looking fine:

Two score sheets of paper hang out
While you pace the grocers in doubt-
You’ll miss some items, fate insists:
Forty forgotten shopping lists.

One day, one rhyme- Day 3203
Artists acrylic spilt on beam
Of platform over flowing stream-
Not a big amount, just a smidge:
A small paint puddle on a bridge.
