The older I get the less I feel like I understand the world
Or life, and I don’t know if that’s a queer/disabled/poor/weirdo/non-white picket fence wanting thing but either way it’s horrifying.

Starting at 2012 (top left corner) through to now, 2017 (bottom right corner). 5 years of a lot of self evaluation and discovery, ups and downs, pain and fear, anxiety and dysphoria...a constant emotional roller coaster. But then finally, courage, strength and acceptance. I'm still pre-testosterone but fuuuuck, the change is massive, both physical and emotional. I was Kimberley - a super feminine in the closet queer battling thoughts of gender dysphoria 24/7, in denial of who I was inside. Now I am Elliot - an out and proud queer FTM trans boy about to begin his transition, excited (but terrified) for the journey I am about to embark on to finally be the person I kept hidden deep inside my mind for most of my life. It's time to finally achieve self love and happiness. I can do this. I can. And I will. #transpeoplematter #transrightsarehumanrights #transitioning #testosterone #ftm #transpeoplearenotaburden

Regarding the current Australian marriage equality survey.
cw - Australian marriage equality survey, homophobia, transphobia
-----
I wonder if all these people (politicians, journalists, the public etc) that are spewing out comments saying that we in the lgbtqia+ community are apparently trying to infringe upon the heterosexual community's rights.. that we apparently have some kind of agenda to take over the country and force homosexuality upon all... I really wonder if any of these people actually realise that we who identify as having either sexual or gender variations that are deemed to not be the 'norm', are the ones who's rights are being attacked and infringed upon. We live a life that is a constant battle for equality and acceptance. We live a life of constant hate, ignorance and exclusion being forced upon us. We are the ones who are affected by the marriage equality survey. The only ones. Any one that is not a part of the lgbtqia+ community IS NOT AFFECTED BY IT. AT ALL. NOT ONE BIT. Through this survey, you are the ones that are literally having a say in regards to if we deserve a human right that you have always had access to. Actually you don't just get to have a say about said human right, but you also get to negatively comment on our want for a that human right, while also judging and attacking who we are and our existence as human beings. I am so done with people going on about things that are not even the issue at hand. Done with people bringing in outside arguments because they cannot actually come up with a proper reason to be voting no. Done with people trying to make us out to be some kind of evil cult of people trying to alter your life and force our sexuality or gender identities onto you. I mean, come on..really? Get over yourself. Honestly, I don't believe any of us would ever want to force homosexuality onto you (not that it is even something that we can force onto you) because really, I know I sure as hell don't want to be affiliated with people who cannot grasp the simple concept that the lgbtqia+ community deserve equality and the same human rights afforded to all others. There are people in every community, every society, every religion, people every where with any belief system or identity, who will use negativity and hatred. Who will attacks others. So just because there may be some who identify as lgbtqia+ fighting back with harsh or cruel comments toward you, does not mean that we all would do so. Plus, If you spout hate toward someone in regards to the marriage survey or lgbtqia+ community, and they come back at you calling you a homophobe, a bigot, whatever - they are not being cruel and attacking you. THEY ARE SIMPLY POINTING OUT THE TRUTH. if you act out using homophobic slurs and comments, you are a homophobe and it is you who is being cruel. Simple. This is all just another example of the concept of if you've not lived it yourself, you won't ever fully understand what it is like. You cannot put yourself into our shoes, you cannot see what it is really like to exist in our society as a person who identifies as lgbtqia+. Yes you can be an ally, and you can have empathy toward our experiences, you can fight our fight with and for us. But really, unless you have lived our life, I just won't ever believe that you have, or should have, the right to comment on or have a say on our lives and rights.
