As above
Let's talk about the whole idea of workout for an hour, it's only 4% of your day.
I just want to break this down because when I hear this statement I automatically think to myself “wow it’s only 4% of my day, this should be super easy.” However in reality it’s not really like that and I want to break it down.
You get 24 hours in a day and that never changes. But what does that 24 hours consist of?
8 Hours a day is recommended for sleeping 8 Hours a day for work or school depending where you are in life. If you’re in school it’s like 6 or 7 hours so lets call it 8 and say you spend an hour or two on homework.
Okay so already you’re down to 8 hours left of free time. Let’s break that down even more. Considering you eat lunch at work or school I won’t count that hour into this.
1 Hour to get ready in the morning ½ Hour for breakfast 1 Hour to prepare and eat dinner (rough guesstimate)
Now I’m considering those as the essentials of your day. That gives us 5.5 hours left in our entire day to fit in everything from catching up on our favorite shows, hanging out with friends, going on dates, etc.
They now want you to do a one hour workout. A one hour workout considering the following above is about accurate for the “average” person and yes I use that term lightly, is about 18% of your free time. That’s almost 1/5 of your time!
There’s also people out there that work full time AND go to school like myself so that percentage is even more of my free time. I’m not trying to say that you shouldn’t workout an hour a day. The idea of this entire post is that you absolutely should dedicate an hour a day to exercise if you can but don’t make it seem like it’s no big deal by telling us that it’s only 4% of our day like we should have no excuses. There are a billion excuses and if you can manage to workout that much then you deserve way more credit than they want to give you. If you can give up 1/5 of your free time to workout you’re an absolute beast and you should flaunt it because there are such a small percent of people that can do that.
If you can’t workout an hour a day try doing 1 hour 3 times a week, or a half hour 3 times a week. As long as you’re getting out there and staying active you’re ahead of the game and you’re an absolute beast. Don’t ever let anyone tell you any different!
So to end my little blurb of the day, yes a 1 hour workout is only 4% of your day, IF YOU DON’T FUCKING SLEEP, EAT, WORK, GO TO SCHOOL, HAVE FRIENDS, OR WATCH TV!

Oh my God, what if you wake up some day, and you’re 65, or 75, and you never got your memoir or novel written; or you didn’t go swimming in warm pools and oceans all those years because your thighs were jiggly and you had a nice big comfortable tummy; or you were just so strung out on perfectionism and people-pleasing that you forgot to have a big juicy creative life, of imagination and radical silliness and staring off into space like when you were a kid? It’s going to break your heart. Don’t let this happen.

Why does this not have more notes?!
Can I ask why you think suicide is never the answer?
Why? Because, suicide doesn’t solve ANYTHING. The lie is that suicide will solve all your problems. It implies that there’s no other way out than to end your own life. Pain is temporary but suicide is forever. Look, I’ve been there. I almost took my own life 10 months ago. I wanted to die. I felt worthless, scared, alone, sad, empty, and hopeless. Killing yourself won’t save you. It won’t make things better. It’ll hurt your family, loved ones, friends, and even people you haven’t met yet. You don’t know what the future holds. But, if you kill yourself you definitely won’t be around for the happier times. Suicide doesn’t just end one life. People love you. Their lives will change if you do it. And not for the better.
Every single person deserves life. Every single person deserves happiness. Don’t lie to yourself. You’re not worthless. You’re not alone. Someone cares. I care. Step back from the edge of the cliff and really look at yourself. No one else can be you. No one else has this unique opportunity. Don’t cut it short.

Close your eyes and imagine the best version of you possible. That’s who you really are, let go of any part of you that doesn’t believe it.
